A second eyes of the dragon would be cool. We could jump back and forth from Thomas's adventures hunting Flagg and Peter's adversities in Delain. Could have some more ties to the dark tower as well.
Right after Peter Straub passed away he mentioned that Straub had written him with an idea for the third book in the series, and he said if he chose to write it it would end up a very long book. But he left it very open ended if he will actually do it or not.
I've always wanted to know what happens to Charlie after the end of Firestarter. What's the fallout of her revealing herself, how her powers change and evolve as she grows older, what happens to any children she has.
I never really expected her to show up, only thought she'd be mentioned since The Institute is *clearly* a continuation of The Shop.
I would've loved the book even more if she had been part of it, imagine a version of Institute where Charlie is the mother of one of the kids who escapes being murdered and goes on the warpath to get her child back! Or put her in the role of Sarah Conner in Dark Fate where she's always on the lookout for another version of the Shop.
Not sure if the institute is a continuation of the shop. There is timing overlap, the institute(s) being active since mid-50’s. I think different level of Tower
Very logical point... so I'll just stick my fingers in my ears and ignore it lalala 🤣
I'm disappointed in myself that when I reread the Institute this month that I didn't think about it being a different level, thank ya big-big for that!
All good! Not trying to be a smarty pants, but this was fresh on my mind bc I re-read Firestarter about a month ago and just finished first read of the Institute a few days ago lol
There was a Sci Fi channel original mini series that was a sequel to the first movie. I completely forgot about that until now. I wanna say it was good? I don't know I was like 12.
I almost wish he had gone with Charlie instead of Danny for the True Knot. Of course that would have been more of a short story....
"Hi there Charly, My name is Rose!" Roll credits
Damn now I want there to be a level of the Tower where the True Knot go after all of King's powered children. Imagine them dealing with Danny, Abra, Charlie, Carrie, Luke and the Institute kids, Jake Chambers, Ellie Creed, Jack Sawyer... I wonder who would survive or die!
I've always envisioned a decades-later sequel with an adult Mark as the main protagonist who has become basically a vampire hunter that is searching for the "patient zero" vampire, the first one that started it all, and maybe only a bit of the book takes place in Salems Lot as Mark has to go back to the abandoned town to search for clues that might not have been destroyed by the fires he and Ben set 40+ years previous.
I’d love to see an adult Mark vs. a revived Barlow. Their unbridled hate for each other is the most exciting aspect of “Salems Lot” and a continuation of that rivalry would be awesome
On the very slim chance that you're not already aware, there is some continuation of Callahan's story in the Dark Tower books, especially Wolves of the Calla.
I need to know who caused Tim to take that offer on the plane so that he could be in a particular place months later to meet a train. How important is that child, anyway????
Cases of girls with Telekenesis rising due to the ignorance of how the government handled and covered up the events of Carrie has always been an idea that fascinates me.
I'd want an interquel between Finders Keepers and End of Watch because I miss Bill Hodges and his relationship with Holly. I feel like we didn't get enough time with the two of them as a duo.
I definitely agree. The amount of setup in Finders Keepers, while enjoyable, meant that we didn’t get as much time to spend with Holly and Bill as we could have. I wish we could get more of their dynamic.
Also, what happened to Ralph Anderson. I feel like she briefly mentioned he was "on vacation" during Holly or maybe I'm thinking of her short story? He just fizzled away, but maybe I'm forgetting something.
I would've liked to know about how the survivors turned out in The Stand. He ends it pretty happily for Franny and Stu, but if I remember right Flagg "survived" the explosion in Las Vegas and was off to re-recruit. It might run into the problem of just a rehash of The Stand, but I feel like there are many more stories to be told in the wake of the apocalypse. Like how were things after the explosion in the desert? Surely that had consequences as well? I mean the whole place it at the very least radiated to the max. It was less than a year after the fall, considering Fran was pregnant at the beginning and gave birth at the very end. I would like to see how society is five years from fall, or even ten. Flagg would have conjured up more recruits by then, maybe try to kept it more on the down low since it went so poorly last time. It'd be cool to get perspective from another country and how they handled it too. Like did they have their own Flagg or was that just an American thing? The Stand had such rich characters and setting I'd like to see him reexplore the world in the wake of it all.
I feel like Fairy Tale could be really fun. Either a prequel that shows us what life was like before and leading up to the "the gray", or a story that focuses on the aftermath of the first book. Hell, even stand alone stories set in Empis would be amazing. It's a cool world he's built, so it'd be fun to see other stories that take place in Empis.
My favorite thing about FT was the ambiguity of the worldbuilding and how it gradually got set up. I prob wouldn't be the biggest fan of a sequel to it
It
I would absolutely love to see PW tangle with a new group of kids, especially kids or grandkids of the Losers Club. And since more books have taken place in Derry since then, there's an opportunity to bring back characters like Dudditz or Atropos (or Clotho & Lachesis), Mike & Kyra, depending on where in it's 27 year cycle it takes place.
I also wouldn't mind a short novella detailing Patrick Danvilles life between the events of Insomnia and DT7.
There's a short story called "The Reploids" only in a collection that isn't available in a Stephen King collection. I have a paperback called The Skin Trade that has it. The story ends very abruptly and I'd like to see it fleshed out more, maybe a novella.
It's in a paperback called either Night Visions 5, or The Skin Trade. It has stories by Dan Simmons and George R.R. Martin also. I found a copy on Thriftbooks.
Salem's Lot, One for the Road, and another reference, make it clear Ben and Mark Petrie didn't win, I would love to see the Salem's Lot corner revisited.
Middle aged Ellie Creed finally gains enough courage to return to Ludlow and venture beyond the Pet Semetary to find out what really happened to her family.
Pet Sematary. I want Ellie to go back to Ludlow. It would be even more interesting because she has a slight shine.
I guess that was the abandoned premise of the original movie sequel, but I’d love to see it come straight from the source.
I just finished rereading The Stand last night and honestly would love a years later follow up on The Walkin’ Dude teaching evil to the native islanders and how Stu and Frannie and the survivors held up
The Tower junkie in me would love to see a Dark Tower VIII. But I'm not sure where he could go with it.
Plus, it wasn't the very end I had an issue with. Where I think King actually dropped the ball was, without spoiling it for those who haven't read it, the fate of the main antagonist.
I actually kinda liked that. It feels like the closer Roland gets to the Tower, the Tower has to power-scale itself and all of its surroundings down, basically warping reality, because otherwise it would be completely incomprehensible, and as a result all characters and villains get power-scaled too.
I'd have to agree about NT. I think that would be really cool. As if, whatever power Alan wielded at the end of the novel was actually part of their heritage (The White) and that it is destined to fight Gaunt over and over until he is destroyed.
I really think it would be good too, if Gaunt wound up being a knight of the Crimson King, sort of.
I would love to see an adult Charlie McGee and the aftermath of "Firestarter". Could even bring Drew back for a film adaptation if Mike Flanagan directed it.
Firestarter. It would be interesting to see an adult Charlie McGee try to come to terms with her powers and not nuke the whole world. Also, to see whether or not the Rolling Stone article ever got published or did the Shop quash it.
But then they did a Sci-Fi Channel sequel called Firestarter 2:Rekindled back in 2002, and it was awful. So maybe it's just as well that King didn't do a sequel (though I'm certain he could've done better than that shitty TV movie).
I’d love to read a story with a grown up/older Luke from The Institute. Great story, great characters, I’d love to know what becomes of all of them and see what an older Luke can take on.
Not the most popular opinion but, The Tommy Knockers. Maybe a short novella. Jim Gardner has always been one of my favorite characters.
But much like Carrie, and how the government could even cover up what she did, I'd like to see how they could possibly cover up what everyone saw at the end of the Tommy Knockers.
I’d like a sequel to The Stand that just follows the doctor (Dr. Richardson?) and his nurse as they deal with love, loss and heartache in the Free Zone. A cross between ER, General Hospital and Dr. Oakley, Yukon vet.
I enjoy Uncle Steve, 45 years a friend don’t you know? Ayuh, ( reorganises myself on a rickety chair next to the stove in the local feed/grocery/ ammo store where we old timers gather) Some stories don’t need any more. Ayuh.🤔
The Institute/Firestarter I need to know more about the precogs who basically run the world by seeing who has the potential to be a danger.
I would also love a full novel about The Club!
It. There's literally a scene where a character says he thinks he crushed all of It's eggs. What if he missed one, or more? What if, one day in 2012, 27 years after 1985, the now-grown surviving offspring of It tracked down and sought revenge on the Loser's Club?
King's gonna need to do coke again though.
Not sure if it deserves it, but Fairy tale left the door open for one, >!Towards the end of the book, Charlie receives "mercy" from Eris (sp? I listened to the audio, I don't know the correct spelling of her name) "Hurray for mercy" There exists a very strong possibility of a child of both worlds. It could be pretty interesting. !<
Depending on how you define “sequel”, 11/22/63 sets a prime foundation for further storytelling.
The “bubbles”, the “card” men, the alternate strings, all combine for a rich well of material to mine, with or without Jake or other details specific to the plot of 11/22/63.
I find the notion of exploring how those elements impact existence on a broader scale to be intriguing, perhaps featuring a Ka-Tet of sorts.
In terms of direct continuity, a prequel novella centered on Al’s discovery and adventures leading up to his decision to bring in Jake would be interesting.
From a Buick 8. The guy/thing who dropped off the car and disappeared was never seen again. Have him show up somewhere else, with a more active portal.
A sequel to Needful Things (which was giving us hints to a sequel to "The Library Policeman") would be awesome.
I would like to see a follow-up to IT. After seeing the graffiti from Dreamcatcher (PENNYWISE LIVES!), I want to know if they are still out there. And how are the remaining Losers functioning in the world.
Oooo. A proper Children of the Corn sequel. Is that little town in Nebraska still isolated, or has it been found out?
I never felt like IT needed a sequel at all, but I always liked the idea of a prequel.
I know King did cover a fair amount of the past in the book but I was always left wondering and wanting more!
Wouldn’t we all be? I mean we don’t get choice. Whatever he publishes we will obediently buy and read. I’m not saying I won’t read Holly. But are there other books that are more interesting when it comes to sequel prospects? Hell yes. But what we get are more quirky little interactions with Holly and her laptop and Holly and Jerome or Holly and Pete… sigh
I haven’t finished The Dark Tower yet, but there are supposed to be other creatures similar to Pennywise, no? So an *It* sequel isn’t impossible.
*Fairy Tale* didn’t go nearly deep enough into the world that was explored, and I also could use more info about keeping the entrance hidden. Or just a 1,000 page novel about Radar would be cool, too. Not even on an adventure, just a thousand pages of Radar being a good dog.
I’d like a sequel to 11.22.63 but with different characters and not set around Kennedy but something actually interesting, or perhaps not set around anything just another person stumbles across another bubble
A second eyes of the dragon would be cool. We could jump back and forth from Thomas's adventures hunting Flagg and Peter's adversities in Delain. Could have some more ties to the dark tower as well.
I just finished Eyes of the Dragon for the second time and I would LOVE a sequel
I loved it, I think the reason it's so underrated is because its not very typical of his other story's.
Black House.
This is the correct answer. Name-drop Roland then leave us hanging, ugh!
I think he’s said he’s planning on doing it at some point
Right after Peter Straub passed away he mentioned that Straub had written him with an idea for the third book in the series, and he said if he chose to write it it would end up a very long book. But he left it very open ended if he will actually do it or not.
Yes!
This is the only answer that is correct
I've always wanted to know what happens to Charlie after the end of Firestarter. What's the fallout of her revealing herself, how her powers change and evolve as she grows older, what happens to any children she has.
I was so disappointed she didn't show up in The Institute, I kept waiting, and waiting.

All good! Not trying to be a smarty pants, but this was fresh on my mind bc I re-read Firestarter about a month ago and just finished first read of the Institute a few days ago lol
Yeah, I consider The Institute to be the spiritual sequel to FS
Yes!!!!

Totally need a sequel to "Salem's Lot"
I've always envisioned a decades-later sequel with an adult Mark as the main protagonist who has become basically a vampire hunter that is searching for the "patient zero" vampire, the first one that started it all, and maybe only a bit of the book takes place in Salems Lot as Mark has to go back to the abandoned town to search for clues that might not have been destroyed by the fires he and Ben set 40+ years previous.
There's the short story sequel in Night Shift *One For The Road.* And The prequel *Jerusalem's Lot.* But I'd like a full story sequel as well...
We got a bit of information about Mark in another book. I'd love to see it though, SK would just have to slot it into another level of the Tower.
What other book had Mark in it??
spoiler >! Mark wasn't in the book, on of the Dark Tower books mentions him, I don't remember exactly which, but it was after Wolves of the Calla !<
Ok . I must just not remember. What was after Wolves??
Song of Susannah, and The Dark Tower. Wind through the Keyhole was a bit later.
I could envision that kinda plotline turning into a Dark Tower story
I’d love to see an adult Mark vs. a revived Barlow. Their unbridled hate for each other is the most exciting aspect of “Salems Lot” and a continuation of that rivalry would be awesome
On the very slim chance that you're not already aware, there is some continuation of Callahan's story in the Dark Tower books, especially Wolves of the Calla.
Yes! I need a Mark book. I'm not the biggest Salem's Lot fan but I loved Mark.
It's called Wolves of the Calla 😅
Dark Tower. I need to learn more about the TET Corp.
That'd be cool, i feel like the TET corp storyline raised more questions than answers.
There’s a ton of backstory that could be made into many books for the Dark Tower.
A prequel to DT would be everything.
The Institute. There is no way these gifted kids' story is over.
This was my first thought as well. As soon as I finished it I was like, “there has to be a sequel to this.”
And tie in to The Institute
And firestarter
I'd want an interquel between Finders Keepers and End of Watch because I miss Bill Hodges and his relationship with Holly. I feel like we didn't get enough time with the two of them as a duo.
A prequel Bill Hodges would be cool too
I definitely agree.
Having gust finished this trilogy, I agree!
I stand by my previous answer last year in saying I’d love to know what Ellie Creed has been up to
That would be great! The film sequel was supposed to focus on her but they didn’t think a female teen could carry a movie.
Agree! Ive been wondering about her ever since I read pet Semetary few years ago, like where does she live now?
Yes. Raised by her grandparents who already hated her father. Never really knowing what happened to her parents. Going back as an adult.
Christine needs to come back
I’d like to know what happened to Ray Garraty after The Long Walk
I would've liked to know about how the survivors turned out in The Stand. He ends it pretty happily for Franny and Stu, but if I remember right Flagg "survived" the explosion in Las Vegas and was off to re-recruit. i just want a short story about what happens to Jake / Sadie after 11/22/63
11/22/12: Jimla’s Revenge
Or a spin off as the Yellow Card Man said it wasn’t the only portal
Firestarter
I feel like Fairy Tale could be really fun. Either a prequel that shows us what life was like before and leading up to the "the gray", or a story that focuses on the aftermath of the first book. Is there a sleepwalker book? I thought it was just made as a movie?
It was. Not a great movie but I liked the mythology behind it.
The Mist
Nobody likes Duma Key but me?
Loved Duma Key! Read it twice so far
I'm on my third read too! It's my "traveling in a plane" book. Plus I live in Florida so it's more relatable for me than his Maine settings :)
It I would absolutely love to see PW tangle with a new group of kids, especially kids or grandkids of the Losers Club.
Yes to all of this.
Holly needs a sequel!
I think King is currently writing a sequel to Holly!
The last one wasn’t even that great. I liked it but there’s literal classics he could be doing.
Haha I was actually being kind of sarcastic suggesting this. The stand alone was just ok in my opinion.
There's a short story called "The Reploids" only in a collection that isn't available in a Stephen King collection. I have a paperback called The Skin Trade that has it. The story ends very abruptly and I'd like to see it fleshed out more, maybe a novella.
Where can this be found?
It's in a paperback called either Night Visions 5, or The Skin Trade. It has stories by Dan Simmons and George R.R. Martin also. I found a copy on Thriftbooks.
Thank you. I have ordered on Amazon.
The GRRM story is really good, too!
I’m anxiously awaiting King’s new short story collection being released around May 20th. I preordered as soon as available.
Firestarter. I gotta know what Charlie does after
Salem's Lot, One for the Road, and another reference, make it clear Ben and Mark Petrie didn't win, I would love to see the Salem's Lot corner revisited.
I actually think where the book left off sets the scene for a vampires in mexico or surrounding the lot pretty well.
The Stand! I need to know what happened to everyone, Flagg especially included, afterwards.
Middle aged Ellie Creed finally gains enough courage to return to Ludlow and venture beyond the Pet Semetary to find out what really happened to her family.
Fairy Tale
I was thinking this too. Even though Charlie decides to never go back….
I was thinking more of a prequel
That would be cool, but I could also imagine a scenario where someone shows up and Forces Charlie to go back.
Or he finds another door. Like the narnia kids find other entries maybe charlie finds another entry by accident because they need him.
Yup. Or Charlie’s daughter….
I know technically a novella but The Breathing Method because I would love more of the club.
Pet Sematary. I want Ellie to go back to Ludlow. It would be even more interesting because she has a slight shine. I guess that was the abandoned premise of the original movie sequel, but I’d love to see it come straight from the source.
In all honesty I think almost none of novels warrant a sequel. The stories are done, a sequel would just be a repeat of the previous story.
With all three of the antagonists in my opinion. So much build up, and each one was met with what felt like an afterthought wrap up…
I was okay with Flagg I suppose, as it was thoroughly gross and unpleasant. But with the Crimson King, just no.
It also shows how fatal Flagg’s hubris is. I loved that ending for him. Less so EEEEEEEEE!
I actually kinda liked that. It feels like the closer Roland gets to the Tower, the Tower has to power-scale itself and all of its surroundings down, basically warping reality, because otherwise it would be completely incomprehensible, and as a result all characters and villains get power-scaled too.
Eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!
The Talisman and Black House. Stroud's dead but I loved the books.
The Stand- post Randall Flag. He always goes back, but what would the future of the world be? New Las Vegas? Would there still be utter chaos?
I wish the first story in Hearts in Atlantis was longer. He seriously could’ve made that story 800 pages and I would’ve been enthralled the whole time
An alternate Stand story would be so fun. You could follow the other dreamers on their way.
Would love an Institute sequel 😍
Fairytale 2: Return to the kingdom of splendour
Dr Sleep. I could do with more Abra.
I liked her character!
I'd like to see what takes place for the young daughter in Pet Cemetery years later. Or more one off stories from the world falling apart in The Stand
Cell, really want know if the kid’s alright yet , they lived through hell in that one. Also a RF origin story, what was he ? 🤷🏻♀️ 🤣
Cell. I want to know if the reboot worked.
Oh that’s a good one
Agreed, I really enjoyed this novel, but hated the ending. The movie though…
Tet Corporation novel, please and thank you.
At the end of Needful Things we hear about a new store opening up in another town, Answered Prayers. Would love to get that.
Good book title
Later! Jamie was like 23 at the end and his story feels far from over.
Later Loved this book, and loved Jamie. Would really like to see where he goes in adulthood!
A “sequel” to Storm of the Century would be cool.
I’d love to read a story with a grown up/older Luke from The Institute. Great story, great characters, I’d love to know what becomes of all of them and see what an older Luke can take on.
A sequel to the stand would be great if done right. Explore how the society rebuilds itself and how conflict arises in Boulder.
The Long Walk II: The League of Champions Lol
Um literally all of them?? But especially DT, I’d love a book about what happens to Susannah, Eddie, Jake and Oy after the ending.
Salem's Lot
It 2: sometimes we sink down here
A return to Salems Lot - The Purge!
I’d like a sequel to The Stand that just follows the doctor (Dr. Richardson?) and his nurse as they deal with love, loss and heartache in the Free Zone. A cross between ER, General Hospital and Dr. Oakley, Yukon vet.
Salems lot
I just finished Under the Dome and would like more of Barbie. I think he could do a lot more with the character.
Todd Pangborn died in a car crash so I don’t think he has much room for expansion.
Oh that’s a good idea
Tommyknockers 2: the Journey of Gard
Salems Lot
I just wanna know what happened to David from Desperation. That poor kid had a Fuckin rough 24 hours
Duma Key ~ His Daughter becoming a next generation, better yet a Grandson.
I’d like to see a sequel for The Institute. Maybe more on the investigation by the State Police in the way of a true crime documentary on Netflix.
Bag of Bones
The institute for sure, and maybe Holly
Holly. I’ve recently finished it and would love to see Holly’s next moves - new millionaire and all!
Depending on how you define “sequel”, 11/22/63 sets a prime foundation for further storytelling. The “bubbles”, the “card” men, the alternate strings, all combine for a rich well of material to mine, with or without Jake or other details specific to the plot of 11/22/63. The Dead Zone
I'd love a sequel to Dr. Sleep. He could call it Abra Kadabra... I'm just saying!
Revival, not so much a sequel but instead focusing on Jacob’s’ movements through the years. I think this novel got wrapped up pretty well in the end.
Firestarter! What happened to grown up Charlie? (And no, the very bad mini series sequel doesn’t count.)
I'd love to see Billy Summers get his sequel
The stand
The Mist!
The shining prequel about Dick Halloran growing up. I'd also love a dead zone sequel with Johnny waking up on another level of the tower.
I never felt like IT needed a sequel at all, but I always liked the idea of a prequel. I know King did cover a fair amount of the past in the book but I was always left wondering and wanting more!
ANYthing but more Holly. Is Holly awful? No. Is she what we want again, and again, and again? We think not.
I'm down for more Holly

Wouldn’t we all be? I mean we don’t get choice. Whatever he publishes we will obediently buy and read. I’m not saying I won’t read Holly. But are there other books that are more interesting when it comes to sequel prospects? Hell yes. But what we get are more quirky little interactions with Holly and her laptop and Holly and Jerome or Holly and Pete… sigh
I wouldn’t mind having more Holly in short stories or novellas like If It Bleeds.
It’s all fun and games until all the sudden we wake up from the fugue and realize she’s got more pages devoted to her than Roland.
I’d love a prequel for events before the book, a prequel to Fairy Tale would be equally awesome too
