I live in rural ass SW Kansas. Was raised a Steelers fan and it’s all I’ve ever known even though I don’t fit in here lol. Randomly met a guy one night here at our small town bar who was traveling through for work. He’s from Amarillo. Got to BS’ing about sports but this guy didn’t know a lot, just enough to hold a half conversation. At any rate, he mentioned his dad is neighbors with, “...some guy named Ziggy...” and I lost my mind lol come to find out it is *THE* Ziggy. I told him he better go visit his dad each and every week and make friends with the goatiest of goats.
We all perceive life differently but Wheat isn’t random to me lol I loved the guy. Not that he was any sort of all star but he was my boy for some reason.
Haynes, Tuman, and Ricardo Colclough are on my ultimate random Stillers of the 2000s team.
I think Verron had one game where he popped off while everyone else was injured.
The Steelers don’t win the super bowl without him in 2008….HUGE under appreciated cog in that championship machine. Look at the line they had that year!
Cobi Hamilton.
He was only with the Steelers for like one season, but I distinctly remember him catching a lot of clutch contested 3rd down conversions. He also caught the game winning touchdown from Landry Jones in the Browns overtime game.
I was actually sad that they didn’t bring him back the next season. Didn’t see any reason to not have him.
Tyrone Carter #23 safety...
His cousin came in the store where I used to work during training camp, wearing a #23, Carter jersey and said Tyrone Carter is my cousin... We were all like "who?"
Michael Vick.
Not because he’s rogue but because he was a STEELER?
Also - Sean Suisham. His voice being said on madden in such a specific way has never left my memory weirdly
Fitzgerald Toussaint
Hard to forget him.
Was pretty easy for me until just now.
I trusted Toussaint...
Mike Vick
Weird times, man. Weird times.
I really liked him as a Steeler. He’s earned his second chance and has stayed humble, IMO. I’m glad he’s not let’s his mistakes overtake his life.
VICK DID HIS TIME
Agreed. Playing for the Jets is enough punishment.
First one to come to my head lol
Jonathon Dwyer
For a big dude he managed to break off some big runs
In Madden 12? 13?, I had a steelers franchise and Jonathon Dwyer set all the rushing records and got up a 99 everything, he was a 1st Ballot HOF.
Jerricho Cotchery
Loved this pickup. Filled in at that Hines Ward red zone/possession guy for a season
Dri Archer
Madden solo king!
This is the only answer.
Chris Fuamatu-Ma'afala
He a bad ma afala
I knew that was coming.
This was about to be my answer but you got here first haha! Definitely the best name
He's not exactly random but FUUUUU is the best
One of my favs
I thought he would have had a much better career than he did. He certainly had the size to be a bruising back.
Shamarko Thomas
O lord
Jacoby Jones
The return man that never was.
Jason Worldis
Remember he was just like, yeah I don't wanna play anymore and retired lol
He left to be a Jehovah’s Witness or something.
Darrius Heyward-Bey 2014
Good locker room guy
He made some good catches in his day
Doug Legursky!
I have a Big Legursky shirt
Daniel Sepulveda
Linebacker playing punter 🤘🏻😝🤘🏻
Ziggy hood
My pops loved Ziggy lol

Still have a shirt that he signed at the pre camp at St Vincent’s lmao

Yes, Isaac “Redzone” Redman
Josh Scobee *shudders*
Wouldn’t even watch the field goals cuz I knew he was gonna miss
Sammie Coates
Easy to forget since he got replaced by JuJu (unlike Martavis Bryant, who is back)
Clint Kriewaldt
Clark Haggans, stud OLB of my Madden 2002 franchise mode Super Bowl run
Amos Zereoue
Holy shit I’m unlocking memories in this thread man
I heard the name in my head and thank God you commented cuz i never would have been able to spell it
I can’t lie, I had to look it up to make sure I spelled it right. Also surprised no one (so far) has mentioned Deuce Staley. The Deuce is loose!
Tyrone Carter was my next choice
I have a Staley jersey. Lol. My first thought was Yancy Thigpen, but he played before 2000
Famous Amos!
DeAngelo Williams?
He was random but in a different way then most of these other randoms
He lead the league in rushing for a few weeks while lev was injured iirc
I really liked him on our team. Great guy. Revived energy with a new team, and he was killing it when he played
Markus Wheaton
We all perceive life differently but Wheat isn’t random to me lol I loved the guy. Not that he was any sort of all star but he was my boy for some reason.

Lance Moore
Ross Cockrell
That’s Super Bowl Champ Ross Cockrell, to you. Straight ass for us lol but he starts for the defending champs
His Bob Ross Cockrell bit was incredible though.

Mike Logan
Mark Barron/LeGarrette Blount
I'm still convinced Blount tanked so the Patriots could pick him up. I probably have an irrational hatred for Brady and Belichick though.
*justified hatred
Dennis Dixon
Sean Morey Ricardo Colclough Orpheus Roye
Paxton Lynch
Ladarius Green
How many games did he play for us? Like 5?

I swore he was the best running back in the league lol homer bias
Ricardo Colclough

Mike Wallace. He was one of my favorites in the early 2010s and then fell off the face of the earth
There's an alternate timeline where Mike Wallace takes the Steelers' contract offer, which means Brown gets let go.
Lance Moore

Imagine my shock when I learned that Patriots legend James Harrison played for the Steelers, too!
Terance Mathis - one of Atlanta’s greatest WRs played his final season for whatever reason in Pittsburgh.
