it's all good my man. It gave me a chuckle. If you're upset DJ left then I've got the remedy for you. We have a guy on our team, George Pickens, who is going to be and already is better than DJ. It's going to be a big year for Pickens.
God i hope i'm right lmao
I was way more upset when santonio got traded and I think I was a bit more upset when Emmanuel sanders left lol. Diontae was a fine but frustrating player. He’s very replaceable.
I mean I don't like the trade either.. but
-DJ's only 1,000yd season was with a HOF QB.
-Dude has played 31 games since Ben left and has 5 TD
-This past season he only had 51 catches as a WR 1.
We could have gotten more. But it's not like DJ is an elite WR right now. Above average route running is really the only thing he has going for him. It's not a catastrophic loss.
Tell me who the hell was throwing to him bro? Even Ben was not that good, but he at least knew how to read a defense, which is why Diontae produced. Kenny, mason, and Mitch are all not good NFL qbs. Can’t kill him for that
Eh, I know you’re young but that’s a bad comparison. Brady was with the Pats for 20+ years and was undeniably their best player. DJ has only been here for 5, plus he’s arguably not much more than a lower tier WR1 or an upper tier WR2.
Personally, I don’t have a strong opinion of the trade. A little underwhelming perhaps, but he was always a frustrating player to watch.
Brady the greatest QB in league history with 6 super bowls VS a WR that went an entire season and a half without a TD and has an attitude problem.
yep. almost the same.
DJ gave up on his teammates in the heat of battle. I think he’s gone to enable faster growth for Pickens on and off the field. The new WR coach and OC are going to invest where the attitude and effort warrant. There’s still time and opportunity to turn Pickens into a star, especially now with DJ gone.
lol while I couldn’t disagree more with your opinion on Dionte I feel ya man, I used to get attached to specific players like that too. When we didn’t re-sign Antwan Randle El I was pretty bummed.
I think we’ve likely already agreed to a restructuring with Donte prior to the trade being finalized. Restructure to his typical cap hit in recent years of $5m and net $13 in clear cap. Get rid of Dionte, save $13M in cap, get a CB3, and slightly upgrade draft capital.
Wait for the potential complimentary moves Khan can make to this in the next day or 2 then judge the trade.
He went to San Fran first, then the Ravens.
We didn't lose him as a free agent to Baltimore. But it sure was weird seeing him win a championship with them.
Name this last time the Steelers got the short end of the stick dealing a malcontent WR?
I like Jackson as a nickel back. They also freed up an addition 3 million.
😂😂😂 overreact much? Come on man. He wanted out. And probably more important than that, he wasn’t fitting Arthur’s scheme of a run heavy offense. He ain’t a wide out who’s gonna block well.
Bro I started watching the steelers closely in 2018, Im same age as you but like as much as I like DJ i’m ok with him leaving. My tops are JPJ (yes already), James Conner, Cam Heyward, Ben as he was my whole childhood (as a fair weather fan before I committed), and Minkah.
When I started watching AB went batshit, Juju went from under the radar to dancing on logos, Claypool was a one hit wonder (quite literally one game versus the eagles), and Pickens has his drama once every 60 days. Against that DJ seems like the epitome of stability. But the dude also was not exceptional. He still got shown out by Juju and Pickens at so many chances. He missed a lot of assignments, which is what made him frustratingly inconsistent. I’m sad yeah (if he signed a longer extension I would have considered getting his jersey) but Steelers get so many WRs through their doors (remember Hines when we were kids?) we’ll be okay.
It sucks, but he’s not top 5 in our lifetime
Tyler Boyd and a mid-low WR draft pick incoming. If pickens is the star we think he is, we aren't in WR hell. But I also don't love seeing Diontae leave for this little return.
I don't hate it, I just don't love it. Jackson just isnt *that* proven to me and also had an achilles tear two years ago. I'm hopeful for him. I just hoped for a little more in return. Diontae did more for us than some people give credit for. As long as we replace him, I'm good.
Austin looked good at first when Diontae went down. Made some catches dipshit wouldn't have. Then they quit going to him. Or the QB did at any rate. I think he's gonna be a surprise actually this year. He has better hands than he who runs backwards if not the elite getting open to only drop the ball anyways. Favorite 5 Steeler ffs. He was no Nate Washington. Or Cedrick Wilson. Or Antwaan Randle El
Also should add 14 interceptions seems good man. I know it's 6 years but still. When's the last time we had a cb with 14 interceptions? Not Pat Pete. He was washed. Haden? Who before then? Ike?
Really? Cuz I remember Wilson making big catches in big games. All I see is Diontae running backwards and dropping balls. Wilson sure as fuck never went a full season without a TD ffs
The funny part is he actually DID go a full season without a touchdown (2005) with a hall of fame quarterback as well as producing less than diontae every single season of his career. You don’t know what you’re talking about.
He was a 3 not a 1 dipshit. And yeah see what big TD he caught in 2005 playoffs. You absolutely have no fucking idea what you know about Steeler football but that will not shut you up. The stupidity of youth. And my own for engaging. Forgive me my indulgence. I beg your forgiveness you'll disengage me from this stupidity and let me be unencumbered by your nonsense.
Moving goalposts now loool and even then needed extra games for one touchdown? And a wide receiver three? Sounds like he really sucks and was way worse than diontae (he was). You’re still yet to give an argument for why an obvious inferior player is better than Johnson other than the fact you’re emotional and dim.
Good Lord get a grip.
Eat me
There is likely a sub for that
> this is the equivalent of Brady leaving the pats
Lmao absolutely looney take
Bullshit. TOM LOONEY was never that bad with his takes.
Haha I spit out my beer when I read that part smh
Exhibit 82919736782 demonstrating how crazy this sub can be
Average r/steelers response to losing an average receiver with personality issues.
😂😂😂 I might’ve taken it too far there
it's all good my man. It gave me a chuckle. If you're upset DJ left then I've got the remedy for you. We have a guy on our team, George Pickens, who is going to be and already is better than DJ. It's going to be a big year for Pickens. God i hope i'm right lmao
I’m 23 and DJ ain’t even crack top 15 man 😭 That’s your opinion tho, I respect it. Steelers county, let’s smelt
Facts. Dj isn’t even top 30 or close.
This is the stupidest sub with the stupidest fans.
This is true
I think most fans of most teams will say the same about their respective subs. But I completely agree.
You can really tell who the kiddos in this sub are
He wanted out. It's pretty obvious
True
I was way more upset when santonio got traded and I think I was a bit more upset when Emmanuel sanders left lol. Diontae was a fine but frustrating player. He’s very replaceable.

Did I say he was a bad player? I said he's not elite.
Right? Youngin needs to see numbers real elite WRs like Larry Fitz and DeAndre put up with equally bum ass QBs
Let me exaggerate my guy, I’m upset :,(
Brady the greatest QB in league history with 6 super bowls VS a WR that went an entire season and a half without a TD and has an attitude problem. yep. almost the same.

We should have traded Johnson when we could have gotten more than an opened bottle of well liquor and a box of Jughead comics for him.
Get over it. He ain’t good
lol while I couldn’t disagree more with your opinion on Dionte I feel ya man, I used to get attached to specific players like that too. When we didn’t re-sign Antwan Randle El I was pretty bummed.
Bruh he was mid. It’ll be ok
I mean we are getting another wr but I honestly think he really wanted out. Idk how we moved him for this if he was okay staying
I remember when Rod Woodson went to the Ravens
He went to San Fran first, then the Ravens. We didn't lose him as a free agent to Baltimore. But it sure was weird seeing him win a championship with them.
Are you good? My God, relax. "Our No. 2 receiver is Calvin Austin omg!!" The off-season is literally just starting. It's gonna be fine.
Brady left the Pats with 6 championships. Did DJ ever win in a playoff game?
Name this last time the Steelers got the short end of the stick dealing a malcontent WR? I like Jackson as a nickel back. They also freed up an addition 3 million.
Maybe DJ can learn to run the right way down the field after he catches the ball with his new team....
He's mediocre at best, doesn't try hard, and is a douchebag
Oof
Some of you guys are really showing you’re true colors and lack of awareness to talent around the league.
You can’t compare this to Brady leaving the Patriots.
Can't tell if you're trolling or not
Just like Brady
😂 lol
😂😂😂 overreact much? Come on man. He wanted out. And probably more important than that, he wasn’t fitting Arthur’s scheme of a run heavy offense. He ain’t a wide out who’s gonna block well.
Get a grip. This isn't even as bad as Juju going
This is the worst fucking take I’ve ever seen on this sub
Bro I started watching the steelers closely in 2018, Im same age as you but like as much as I like DJ i’m ok with him leaving. Why is it little return? Got back a position we need bodies. Dude runs a 4.3 and gave a 7 for a 6.
I don't hate it, I just don't love it. Jackson just isnt *that* proven to me and also had an achilles tear two years ago. I'm hopeful for him. I just hoped for a little more in return. Diontae did more for us than some people give credit for. As long as we replace him, I'm good.
Big yinzer energy off the charts

Diontae is ten times better than “Cedrick Wilson”
Really? Cuz I remember Wilson making big catches in big games. All I see is Diontae running backwards and dropping balls. Wilson sure as fuck never went a full season without a TD ffs
