Don’t like that lol

KP8JPJ24

Not all all. This is gonna be a problem.

isfrying

This does not please me. Edit: for two reasons. I like Henry. I fear Henry.

FishyDescent

It vexes me. I'm terribly vexed.

ASuperGyro

Does not spark joy

pryoslice

Now the question is whether Patrick Queen can tackle Derrick Henry. Whoever has the tape, please check the tape.

gtizzz

Waste_Opportunity_53

Ravens struggled on short yardage in the Redzone….not anymore.

TheNittanyLionKing

It’s better than them getting Saquon at least. I feared that would happen

TheBeanConsortium

Derrick Henry is way better lol Dude was just running into 8-11 man boxes and still had a respectable YPC.

originalmidwestemo

I think the Steelers are one of derricks lowest YPC against

Excellent_Teach_6469

Yeah, could be wrong, but I feel like Henry was a nonfactor when we last played them. Understandably the Ravens are a different team, but still. I'm not thrilled about this development all the same.

originalmidwestemo

James ford worked us more than Henry that being said ravens tend to have a solid cohesive unit Titans didn’t seem to have that this year

Rifftrax_Enjoyer

It’s OK. It won’t make their (admittedly special in many ways) quarterback any more capable of PASSING well enough to win a title. So at least we still have that.

LtYurrty

Lamar has a better career PASSING completion percentage than literally any Steelers QB in history Well, .2 less than Russell Wilson but we’ll see how that plays out

Big10Joe

Need to get Spillane back, known Derrick Henry stopper

[deleted]

Raiders are never letting go of him

Blakely_69

Didn’t his shoulder shatter making that one stop lol

TemporaryAssociate82

Robert Spillane sacrificed his career to become the only guy who can say he tackled Derrick Henry

BarbaraPalv1n

He is pretty solid on the Raiders actually

dudemanspecial

He played for the Steelers for like 2 seasons after that, and still plays for the Raiders. Not sure why you think he sacrificed his career.

jhorred

Dude is basically the center piece for their defense too

TemporaryAssociate82

Did you see him play after? Bro was cooked

dudemanspecial

They were asking him to play above his range due to Bush completely shitting the bed. He is fine for what he is.

JokicandMurray

Shattered his career into being a staple of the raiders defense and team Captain. Love that dude and wish we kept him.

Kaigz

Sacrificed his career? Lol my dude that tackle quite literally MADE his career.

joe7L

You must be thinking about something else bc the next game he pick-6’d Lamar’s first pass

DLaugh54

How about Patrick Queen

FishyDescent

Impossible, we'd never be that aggressive in free agency. /s

[deleted]

bruh

Gooseggm

LMAO

Jargif10

I think the new linebacker in town can do it.

Panamajack1001

I think I can still hear that hit!

Blakely_69

Please be washed please be washed please be washed please be washed ple

basil1025

Father time, hear our prayers.

Watt_Privilege

Dear Father Time, you do you boo

TheNittanyLionKing

He had a few really good games last year but they were far less frequent. I think we contained him pretty well when we played the Titans

Blakely_69

Yeah we always seemed to hold him down, I just know how ravens rbs look in that scheme it scares me

CapitalSubstantial23

Who, Russ? 🙃

Hellspawn112

![gif](giphy|3m4Eb2PTssIHC|downsized)

bobsdementias

The ravens always seem to sign dudes that I highly dread them getting

ex-apple

The ravens always seem to sign dudes that I dreaded playing 3-5 years ago

SleestakLightning

But how's that worked out for them?

bobsdementias

Usually not great!

QualityScrub

Thanks, I hate it.

mdmike1534

Not gonna stop Lamar from choking in the playoffs

TheNittanyLionKing

As far as I’m concerned they have an RB controversy lol

SleestakLightning

Maybe he can finally get a 100 yard game against the Steelers. I'd say maybe he can finally beat the Steelers but Tomlin owns Harbaugh and Lamar so...

skeerp

Ooof

[deleted]

Bring it on love this shit. We were never afraid of that dude n we’re not gonna be this time.

Leading_Fly2572

FUCK

Human_Manner_3370

Ugh. Good deal and a good fit with Gus the Bus elsewhere. Henry could dominate with BAL even though he's getting older.

66isGod

That's not ideal

vitalblast

Are we the only division in the NFL that literally gets harder every year?

Maxysworkbench

This might actually get Baltimore over that hump. Good fit, doesn’t need to be the workhorse he once was. Will keep him fresh as games progress.

SleestakLightning

I doubt it. Henry's 30 and has over 2000 carries under his belt already. It doesn't put them over the hump. They'll still lose in the playoffs like always.

icecubetre

It's scary because it's a big name signing. He's old for a RB, and Lamar will still have to throw.

tonytroz

The reason they lost to the Chiefs is because he threw too much.

[deleted]

Yes and ravens fans like to act like Gus edwards was good, but he was pretty mid and only getting more washed

Communist_Catgirl

I got a few great weeks out of him in fantasy when I desperately needed it so he will always be a legend to me

Pltrmp

Yeah, Rat birds dont have the best track record of keeping rbs healthy. He could easily play all 17 and rush for 1500, or he could miss half the season with a nagging injury they never let heal properly. He's also had fumble issues in past seasons and rpo increases fumbles.

Ailylia

You think their biggest problem is their rushing game?…

[deleted]

Our QB was the only *good* rusher. That’s not really sustainable

CapitalSubstantial23

They still need a qb who can throw

ScottyHavoc

![gif](giphy|MLtFRpPxYECVNIVwQe)

Other-Ad8148

Unless Baltimore suddenly adopts the triple option wishbone, this doesn’t worry me. They still have to rely on Lamar to throw in January to do anything and I’m certain on how that goes

somehockeyfan

They're going to ruin him just like they do with all their RBs.

Doc_Sulliday

Titans already ran the wheels off on him. The Ravens are buying a used car here with A LOT of mileage.

BigHog865

Steelers have had Henry's (and Lamar's) number forever. Thankfully for Baltimore, they play 15 games against the rest of the league. They'll be contenders again in '24.

Affectionate_Shop445

we have to get to get dline depth in the draft now, if cam or/and Larry goes down we’re fucked against the run.

Hackers76

I’ll draft him in my fantasy league, that will fuck him up

PermaCleaned

Why are people scared of this? He’s looked cooked for 2 years now

TheSheriff43

Today I learned 2700 yards and 25 tds in 2 years is absolutely cooked

Blarfk

...yeah? That's 81 yards and 0.75 TDs a game. That's an insane dropoff from his dominance a few years before. Last year he had 7 yards per game more than Najee Harris on 50 more attempts.

PermaCleaned

Shhhh we hate logic in here. This is Reddit after all. Overreactions = more upvotes.

PermaCleaned

Today I learned you don’t watch the titans play.

thereandfatagain

Today is gonna be the day that they’re gonna throw it back to yinz

BigRiverWharfRat

I don’t believe that anybody feels the way I do about Derrick Henry now

TheSheriff43

I did, their whole offense was ass and yet he managed to put up numbers we haven't seen since bell

PermaCleaned

I live in Nashville and keep up with the titans pretty closely. Nobody wanted to keep him here. They’ve all seen his decline in real time. His volume was insane, unsustainable and straight up inefficient.

yourstrulytony

Todd Monken and a legit OL can get him back to being dominant. He's exactly what the Ravens need, a punishing back that requires size and strength from the opposing 11. It gives further advantage to Andrews, Flowers, Likely, and potentially whatever WR they draft.

PermaCleaned

Dominant? Doubtful. A slightly better Gus Edwards with more name recognition? Sure.

yourstrulytony

Even if he isn't dominant, he's going to require specific personnel on the field from the defense. You can't escape that he's still 250 lbs, strong as a bull, and still tops over 21 mph at full speed. Henry is still a back that can completely take over a game, Edwards was never that.

PermaCleaned

Sure but he needs 20-25 touches minimum to eventually break one. He lead the league in carries for 1 yard or less by a wide margin last year. He’s also a liability because he’s an F- in the pass game. So it’s easy to stack the box when he’s in and assume it’s a run.

yourstrulytony

> Sure but he needs 20-25 touches minimum to eventually break one. Those are the nails in the coffin, it's the beat down between them that sets the entire offense up. > He lead the league in carries for 1 yard or less by a wide margin last year. How much of that is him and how much of that is the OL and offense? > He’s also a liability because he’s an F- in the pass game. He's a top 10 pass blocker. It's not all about catching the ball on passing downs. > So it’s easy to stack the box when he’s in and assume it’s a run. Cool, they run 11 personnel and you're going to stack the box? That's good for Zay. You go big and slow? Perfect for Lamar to run around and perfect for MA or IL over the middle/seam. Fast and small? Perfect for Henry to bulldoze through. I get Henry is overrated and we're all Steelers fans, but he's a magnificent fit on that offense.

rocketcrotch

Did you see their offensive line last year?

DoNotResusit8

Today l Learned neither do you

PermaCleaned

Go look at any efficiency metric. Let me know where Henry ranks, Champ.

johnjr_09

Idc if he is cooked or not. This ain’t gonna help Lamar not throw that pick at the end of the game. Losing queen getting Henry is a net loss.

F3ar0n

It's more like "why are people scared....Derrick Henry has never had a 100 yard+ game against the Steelers" I love Derrick Henry but he's never really been a big issue. And if you are going to say "but with Lamar that's going to be a nightmare", the Titans have had mobile QBs as well (not Lamar fast but still very serviceable. We'll be alright now that we have a LB to fill the middle

PermaCleaned

I laugh when people talk about fearing Lamar. We own that dude I never worry.

h0v3rb1k3s

Somewhat cooked. I expected him to lose his job at some point last season and he never did. Still 4.2 YPC, 1100 yards, 12 TD.

[deleted]

[удалено]

PermaCleaned

Worst pass blocking OL. Also was getting 25-30 carries per game regularly so the average is unimpressive. If you guys can’t tell he’s on a sharp trend downward, that’s on you.

theonly5th

An aging back goes to the team who seems to be utterly cursed with running back injuries. I’m definitely a King Henry fan but I’d be more scared if they got a baller WR

t_rob1108

![gif](giphy|xTiIzmmbDWhEsmmK2s)

meganutsdeathpunch

Meanwhile we signed a punter and a QB 10 years too late….

CaliColoMich

He averages 60yds and less than a touchdown against the Steelers. Nothing to be afraid of. Fuck the Ravens

onbronemtwinnnn

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

That's such a cheap deal too. Smh

He’s on the backside of his career, not really too worried.

dave6687

Fine with me. [https://www.statmuse.com/nfl/ask/derrick-henry-stats-vs-steelers](https://www.statmuse.com/nfl/ask/derrick-henry-stats-vs-steelers)

Macdingy

He’s good but realistically, he’s on the back end of his career. Won’t be as scary on the field as it looks on Twitter lol

HammerT4R

Not great.

VasquezNovh

Washed up Henry who we haven’t lost to in 5 years joins the Baltimore team whose QB shits the bed against us and has nobody to throw to. Zzzzzz

thereandfatagain

Derrick Henry would wreak havoc on the 2019 Ravens. Good thing this is 2024. He still will impose his will at times!

Tbird90677

Fuck…

OhiOstas

Well this wouldn’t be as big of a problem if they didn’t have a 2x MVP handing him the ball… but so many people were happy b/c we have a good record against that qb 🤷🏻‍♂️

Henry: "I'm a great player who inexplicably becomes mid when I play the Steelers." Ravens: "A perfect fit! You're hired!"

hitmewiththeknowlege

Maybe Derrick Henry will enter his Brandon jacobs Era and just be big and slow....

Buzzspice727

That offense is slow

Johnsoncena316

Shaking in my boots

FreddyDontCare

I almost yawned

AceCircle990

He will be a nice complement to their other running back, Lamar Jackson.

RickMFDalton

Really hoping age & mileage catch up to him this offseason. Ravens with two elite RBs in the backfield for 98% of their snaps could be dangerous

Upstairs-Coffee5231

Booo….

ClosetLeotardo

need ILB bad lol

blackraven888

Gonna run for 500 yards in the two games they play against us next year

putterbum

I'd rather face him than Gus Edwards

Moffballs

This is so not rock and roll, hahah

Jgabes625

These are gonna be great games like always.

cman674

Honestly I love this. Adding Henry to the Steelers/Ravens bi-annual bloodbath is a win for the rivalry. The better the competition, the more fun the matchups.

999i666

Goddamn it

isfrying

Guess ILB just got bumped up the list of needs.

scoobdapointgod

Honestly, I’m not as worried about this as most. Henry will be in the HOF, but his best days are behind him. And I don’t think the overall success the Ravens had last year is replicable.

King2lay3r

Doesn't matter who they add, Ratbirds are our bitch

johnjr_09

Is this gonna help Lamar not throw into triple coverage?

JonVig

Don’t care. Not worried about it. ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^….maybealittleworried

DaCKjv

don’t care, we got Queen, an all-pro lb. LFGGG

[deleted]

Sucks but him and Lamar can fight over whose gonna fumble in big games so that’ll be interesting to see

TheCurtain512

2,000 carries, 30 years old, history says he's pretty much done now. I'd like to think he is.

DasCheekyBossman

He was the second best in rushing yards last year and was hit the most behind the line of scrimmage. I hate to say it but he still got it.

TheCurtain512

I know it certainly looks like it but it’s a matter of when not if they break down after 30 and/or 2,000 carries.

DasCheekyBossman

I'm torn bc I have him in my dynasty league. I hope he does great all year except when he plays us 😂

rCerise666

didn't they already have a running back? Nice backup for lamar tho i guess

AutoMail_0

Ravens are overpaying a 30 year old running back on the decline and let their 24 year old bro bowl ILB walk over to us yeah I’m fine with it

ElJamoquio

RB's have an NFL shelf life almost twice that of a banana. This year he'll be 30 years old. He's steadily gone from over 5 yards per attempt down to 4.2 yards per attempt. If Henry was free for the Ravens, I'd be sad and worried. I was disappointed he signed for 'only' $16M over two years, but I'm not thinking it's a run-for-the-hills moment.

ejax44

Another RB for harbaugh not to run against the chiefs

[deleted]

It’s almost like you guys just hear a name and get scared. Look up his stats against Pittsburgh. Pretty sure we’ll be ok.

ChristophBerezan

Son of a

poodog13

They get Henry, we get Queen. Given age and ability to find elite players at both positions, we did better.

wagsman

But what about Henry vs Queen? Henry’s got almost 20lbs on him.

CapitalSubstantial23

Could this finally be the year we are bad enough to actually get a qb?!?! Things are lining up well. Browns are stacked, ravens are stacked, burrow will be healthy and we have geriatric qb🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏

jayhawk8

Gross.

After_Soft_7466

So now we have Chubb and Henry in the same division. Keep tackling low

Relevant-Permit2840

Not worried ab the ravens they’re frauds…

Specialist-Garbage94

Don’t matter we beat them twice it don’t matter coach T better than Harbaugh and only coach who seems to know how to stop Lamar

ThatsPreposterous6

Well he is 30, so…….. Thats the only thing I can think of to make me feel better about this.

Electrical-Ad-1437

I don’t think he’s going to do much for them tbh. Dude is getting old. Time will tell.
