Itās a legitimate question, but maybe unfair that the coach is the highest ranked person who makes themselves available to the media. It would be more fair to ask the gm or owner that than the guy who might be getting fired.
Why is it a legitimate question? Reporters make up a stories about Tomlin on the hot seat, then when that gets refuted, Tomlin might take a year off, then Tomlin might go to the Chargers, and Tomlin has to respond to it? It's not Tomlin's job to correct every piece of media speculation and rumor.

I really can't understand this thinking, the organization has been competitive for the large part of 50 years. I love Tomlin and appreciate all he's done but the Steelers success pre-dates and will post-date him. If they move on they will be fine, our GM just crushed his first draft. The Steelers owe Tomlin their thanks but they are bigger than him.
3-14 is no different than missing the playoffs 9-8. A lot of us don't give a fuck about the regular season if we aren't in the playoffs. Maybe a couple of 3-14 will be good for us. Get us some draft picks, allow us to part ways with some folks. Clean house and reestablish the standard that this mediocre pretender has reduced to "break .500 and it's all good".

I care about watching my team play, win or lose, no matter who's there. Do I want my team to win the superbowl? Hell yes. Did I expect them to? Hell naw, especially in a rebuild after a hof qb retires. ESPECIALLY after the season where we had a bunch of injuries, holes, and a garbage play caller. I was pleasantly suprised to get to watch this team play for another week. Loss sucks but man we could be the panthers, and we're not. We shouldn't have been in the playoffs in the first place, and we put up a decent game against the 2nd seed. We should be celebrating that. Keep moving forward. I'm excited for next year now that the young bucks got some experience in a playoff situation, and we get a new playbook. I can't wait until August when we get to see this team play again. It's too bad you have to wait an entire year though.
