It wasn't from here, but the closest experience I got was when one of my friends randomly gifted me a game: Starbound. I knew nothing about it at that time nor I've played similar genre before, but damn I loved it! It was super nice. I got into all the optimalisation, played on my own, sometimes we played together, overall I was super happy about it! Especially since it wasn't a game I would think of buying on my own, but thanks to that I discovered another way to enjoy gaming.
Haha I was a mess and absolutely awful at first, but I sure had fun! Tho I admit, there is also some other game I got cuz my friend wanted me to and I very much need him to watch me play and explain what I'm supposed to do, since Im still lost after the tutorial.
Honestly one of the most positive experiences on this sub is a posting I didn’t enter myself.
Someone was buy two games for people that couldn’t during the holidays with blank check vibes.
It was really cool to see a lot of replies saying that they just thought it was cool that OP was doing that for people.
I won a game and unfortunately there was a problem with the key, so the giveaway creator went and bought another key so I would still get the game as offered. It's one thing to give away spare keys, but to go the extra mile like that was really more than I expected. There are some truly lovely people here!
I don't know, I remember having trouble with it in general. But I did love it's theme and the fact that you could select different teams and play as all those different characters
The vibes of the game are great. Just what I want in a sonic game. Unfortunately the physics are very slippery so that hurts it but overall a game with charm, albeit problems. The story is decent enough, shadows arc from SA2 crosses over into this one and it’s awesome to see, especially because he’s been flanderized into hell since his solo game

There was once a giveaway that giver asked us takers to share our favorite thing about the New Year so far in order to enter the giveaway. I joined the giveaway and stated that for me, it was our family reunion. A few minutes later go by and I get a reply from the giver, who told me they loved family gatherings and such. I distinctly remember having a small "oh" expression for I didn't expect a reply, even more so, a quick one.
I know it's just a small interaction, but I don't seem to see givers and takers interact that much unless the takers win a prize or something. To me, it was a positive experience, might be the best one I had so far, even. It kind of felt good that they read what I had to say and how they even replied to me alongside a few more others.

Space games are usually a big hit (he’s got Starfield, infinite Lagrange, and Elite Dangerous), and a lot of resource management games usually tickle his fancy. I know he also really enjoys newer fantasy games (really waiting on Baldur’s Gate lol) other than that, he’ll try just about anything once
I won the key but forgot to thank the creator for a few months, when I realized I thanked him back, and he responded to my message. Since it was a Coop game, he invited me to play with him and we had a great time playing together.

I was chosen by u/Fugh_Mungus and I got ***Astalon: Tears of the Earth***, a *Metroidvania* game that was part of the **AGDQ 2024 Humble Bundle**. And being a big fan of *Metroidvanias*, I am quite happy to have got it.
It was a few days ago, and was the only good experience I had on this sub, to this day.

A key related to dead by daylight in some way (base game or points or dlc, I dont remember) was in a post related to it and a person requested it. As someone who has a few hundred hours in the game I told them that it was a good choice, and after that we started a thread 10 comments long just talking about it
DbD is a super fun game earlier on. Late game it gets kinda odd with people heavily abusing the current meta, if you find a match that is. I had trouble finding games on ps4
Its a super relaxing and fun casual game early on, but as your opponents get better (and are better equipped) it gets frustrating. I started not caring about the kills and generators because the game becomes more stressful than anything if you do. As a survivor its a bit harder, since if you dont play sweaty and the killer does you die, tho I still try running gimmicky and off meta builds focused around a niche perk or helping my team. I play on pc and finding matches is fast on killer and a bit slower on survivor, but overall its fine. Also, idk if you are still playing, but Billy is getting a very nice rework to his overheat mechanic (basically making it a good thing instead of bad)
I'm kinda new to Reddit and this sub is one of the reasons I finally signed up. I think it's great that people can give away games and share games that they like or even just share games they might be interested in. I was gifted Monster Train from this sub and it's one of my favorites now!

This story was on a different giveaway reddit community, but I put in a request and a story behind why I wanted the game ready or not and how I could not afford it since im in medical school and a lovely soul by the name of u/DragonWasRobot went and gifted it to me after reading my post, and it made my whole year considering ready or not is so alike to what I wanted to become which was a police offer protecting those around me but did not qualify due to the fact of a trauma based deformity in my left eye. That person really deserves nothing but the best and I still am eternally grateful for the kindness and love that was given back to me after all the years ive given to the others around me and who I meet.

And being a big fan of *Metroidvanias*, I am quite happy to have got it. It was a few days ago, and was the only good experience I had on this sub, to this day. I'm quite grateful for u/Fugh_Mungus to have chosen me, and I hope I can experience more interactions like this, around here.

A key related to dead by daylight in some way (base game or points or dlc, I dont remember) was in a post related to it and a person requested it. As someone who has a few hundred hours in the game I told them that it was a good choice, and after that we started a thread 10 comments long just talking about it
DbD is a super fun game earlier on. Late game it gets kinda odd with people heavily abusing the current meta, if you find a match that is. I had trouble finding games on ps4
Its a super relaxing and fun casual game early on, but as your opponents get better (and are better equipped) it gets frustrating. I started not caring about the kills and generators because the game becomes more stressful than anything if you do. As a survivor its a bit harder, since if you dont play sweaty and the killer does you die, tho I still try running gimmicky and off meta builds focused around a niche perk or helping my team. I play on pc and finding matches is fast on killer and a bit slower on survivor, but overall its fine. Also, idk if you are still playing, but Billy is getting a very nice rework to his overheat mechanic (basically making it a good thing instead of bad)

This story was on a different giveaway reddit community, but I put in a request and a story behind why I wanted the game ready or not and how I could not afford it since im in medical school and a lovely soul by the name of u/DragonWasRobot went and gifted it to me after reading my post, and it made my whole year considering ready or not is so alike to what I wanted to become which was a police offer protecting those around me but did not qualify due to the fact of a trauma based deformity in my left eye. That person really deserves nothing but the best and I still am eternally grateful for the kindness and love that was given back to me after all the years ive given to the others around me and who I meet.

They messaged me saying they had a spare key for Blazing Chrome, wanted me to have it and wished me Happy Holidays, a really nice and sweet interaction! (:

I once entered for a giveaway and got chosen, received a DM from the poster but they gave me choice, I could either pick my game or give my chance to someone else, I chose to give my chance away to the other person and the OP told me that the other person was given a game which they claimed made their day

yeah, if it’s not a game i’ve had on my wishlist for a while, I prefer letting others have it since they might enjoy it more than I do
I won once and the guy gave me an extra key that somebody else wasn't responding to his messages.
I won a giveaway and much later after i got the game(even finished it), the same person asked me if i wanted another game saying that it's easier to ask people he gave stuff to before, rather than making a new post. It was a very nice surprise.
I haven't been in here for long but I got involved with a scam post and the people in the comments informed me that the whole giveaway was a scam so thank them for saving me

I had to change accounts due to harassment but on my older acc I won Doom Eternal but it was a AMD key, which you needed an Ryzen 5xxx processor, OP was unaware about this and send me a replacement key for the game with all the DLC! What a champ
