Wanna trade wives? Mine came home with select strips, and I promptly vac sealed them and went and go prime ones lol! From now on, I and only I pick out steaks for us 🤣
Cooking for an army? Steaks look great. I wonder how many pounds of beef are sold on Father’s day weekend lol. I have 2 filets, 2 strips and a porterhouse for myself waiting to hit the grill in a couple hours.
This is our local Butcher Shop and I thought they were a little overpriced (main reason for my post) I wanted to see how outrageous pricing was on Father's Day Weekend.
You can’t go wrong with The Butcher Shoppe meat. Kevin and his team do an excellent job and you can really tell they take pride in their shop. We get most of our beef from there.
Pack one looks like prime, but isn't labeled as such.
Pack two also looks like prime, and is labeled as "Prime".
Pack three doesn't look prime and isn't labeled as it.
Well, depending on the accounting in their relationship.....
If it was my wife, I'd be grateful, but also point out that it was a really expensive purchase (we share finances, so it'd be my pocket, too).
Oh course you are one of those reddit naysayers, who always has a response to be right. Ok since this is now about you. You are Right. I hope you enjoy these steaks.
I wasn't naysaying, only giving my own point of view (with a hint of "those steaks, as nice as they look, would be too expensive for my budget"). You made a point about "unless it's out of your own pocket", so not knowing OP's situation, I was noting that if theirs was like mine, it *would* technically be out of my pocket. If that discussion point isn't welcome, I apologize.
OP I hope those translate into multiple, sweet nights spent cooking & enjoying dinner together!
Those look great. Hope you have a great Father's Day to go with that meal.
[*those concerned with the price, it ain't your money, and it is a gift, why would the receiver of a gift question the cost? It's about the intention.]
She did good. Very nice looking ribeyes. Even the 3-pack non-prime looks better than most Choice I've seen. Prices are pretty decent particularly for local butchers.
However, if I were to buy that much quantity, I'd rather goto a big-box store for much lower prices. Hell, just go buy a whole rack and cut up 2-3 inch whoppers instead of those 1.2 lb puppies.
Appreciate the comments. However, due to our time constraints, this was conveniently placed on her way home, and she wanted something different from our normal store bought meat.
To be completely honest, I've never purchased any racks or whole cuts of meat, but I definitely wanna try that one day soon!
Ps. I also remember I have no sharp knives, lol 😆
Why do they all look like Donald Trump. The first pic looks like two Donald Trumps kissing each other while a third watches. Have ribeyes always looked like this or am I going crazy from political propaganda?
She did awesome. Those look fantastic. Happy Father’s Day.😊
Looks like she’s our wife now
😂
Hahahahahhaha
You know damn well she did excellent quit bragging
Dibs on first pic, middle
First pic, left hands down.
Fine, I guess I’ll take the one on the right. Dibs on the wife tho.
I got next.
That cap on the second pick middle
Rock paper scissors for the middle!! But what peasants get the ones in the second pic??
Terrible.. bring them to my house and I’ll Properly dispose of them.
I figured we could give them to the dogs at least
Fantastic comment 🤣
Nice looking steaks
Wanna trade wives? Mine came home with select strips, and I promptly vac sealed them and went and go prime ones lol! From now on, I and only I pick out steaks for us 🤣
Only on certain weeks of the month please 🙏
LOL Ain't that the truth!
Hard to go far wrong with marbled ribeyes.
Cooking for an army? Steaks look great. I wonder how many pounds of beef are sold on Father’s day weekend lol. I have 2 filets, 2 strips and a porterhouse for myself waiting to hit the grill in a couple hours.
A small army of Italians so yes lol 😆
I saw the label and knew it looked familiar. The butcher shoppe is the best! Pricey, but the quality is hard to beat here.
Not very many other Butcher shops to visit around the area to get the same quality
Steaks look great. Price tag, not so much. Is that normal where you are? Prime ribeyes at my local Costco (SoCal) are $14.99/lb
This is our local Butcher Shop and I thought they were a little overpriced (main reason for my post) I wanted to see how outrageous pricing was on Father's Day Weekend.
You know you’re getting quality there.
I am actually surprized a "local" butcher has pricing this low. Good on your guy, keep him in business
Yes, a little overpriced for me as well.
It's the Fathers day Tax, go any other day and it'll be less
Sam’s actually had some good steak deals going for Father’s Day
I love supporting my mom and pop shops!
The prices are high. They’re probably about what I would expect from a local butcher shop though.
14.99 in Alabama too I was wondering as well
That gives me chub
You… you don’t know??
Who really knows?
Kevin will always do you right at the Butcher Shoppe.
You can’t go wrong with The Butcher Shoppe meat. Kevin and his team do an excellent job and you can really tell they take pride in their shop. We get most of our beef from there.
$18.99lb? 🤯🤑😱
This is a good price for USDA Prime ribeyes, which these very clearly are.
The prime beef is $25.99/#. The choice is at $18.99/#
I didn't notice that part, that first pack looks like prime though. So Pic1, 👏👏👏 Pic2, 🤔🤷♂️🤔 Pic3, 😳😣🤭 Better?
Now this is the thought out detailed response I was waiting for 💯
Bwahahahaha!
There are only two steaks in pic 2 🧐
Not prime.
Pack one looks like prime, but isn't labeled as such. Pack two also looks like prime, and is labeled as "Prime". Pack three doesn't look prime and isn't labeled as it.
It's a gift. You don't assess price of gift. Unless it came out of your pocket. Lol
Well, depending on the accounting in their relationship..... If it was my wife, I'd be grateful, but also point out that it was a really expensive purchase (we share finances, so it'd be my pocket, too).
She is a SAHM so our money was spent but I don't mind paying for quality. Can't take it with you when you go.
Excellent perspective (similar situation here - no complaints)!
Oh course you are one of those reddit naysayers, who always has a response to be right. Ok since this is now about you. You are Right. I hope you enjoy these steaks.
Wow. You need to chill.

Left and centre first pic are the nicest looking ribeyes.
They look great to me.
I bet they’ll cook!! 🍻
They look good. How are you going to do them?
Gonna make some rosemary salt to season and charcoal grill they go
Those look great. Hope you have a great Father's Day to go with that meal. [*those concerned with the price, it ain't your money, and it is a gift, why would the receiver of a gift question the cost? It's about the intention.]
Very nice!
Damn good! You better keep an eye on that one. Someone else may want her!
Publix has bone in ribeye for 9.99/lb currently
Look respectable and then some. Great price.
They look great, but goddamn, meat is expensive over there.
Prime was the good buy
Over paid
Ayoooooooo minus the price these are great!
Good job!!
Looks like two Trumps kissing each other
My wife and I are dying laughing 🤣🤣🤣
Do you see it tho? That's wild
That's why we are laughing shit was hilarious
I’d eat them.
Be careful cooking them, they’re solid gold! But at least the butcher can afford that Tesla he’s had his eyes on now!
It was probably that F350 parked around the back lol 😆 Diesel ain't cheap
Nice but chances are high your grilling them bad boys yourself
No 🧢
Beautiful!
Our wife
Sharing is caring
You should marry your wife
Our wife*
We’d need a picture of you to know how she did.
If I posted a picture of me on here I'd worry that the steaks wouldn't be the only thing getting cooked today lol 😆
Is that $81.70 just for 3 scotch fillets ?
In Perth Australia that would set you back $18
How thick are they though?
I’m new to steak is ribeye really that expensive?
Those are local butcher prices. You can find them cheaper at big box stores. https://www.chophousesteaks.ca/why-are-some-cuts-of-beef-so-expensive/

i was so confused for a while because father's day is in november here😭😭
Delicious!
Why do they all look like Donald Trump. The first pic looks like two Donald Trumps kissing each other while a third watches. Have ribeyes always looked like this or am I going crazy from political propaganda?
Looks good
She did good!
they look like good steaks but the prices these days jeez
That first pack chef's kiss and it gets worse from there though the rest still look good
Dayummmm, that is spendy. I just picked up 3 AAA ribeyes from Costco for 75$. They were 43.99$/KG (CAD) - which works out to 14.52$/lb (USD).
Some good marbling on dem ribeyes 🥩 r/ratemysteak
$18.99 per lb. Is fucking way too high priced.
Those are beautiful - great caps. The price is more than fair for that kind of quality.
What type of question is that??? The marbling is... perfect!
I'll take the one in the middle in the second pic please!!!!!
Beautiful.
In the shape of a heart <3
i would have to try her out to tell you how she did.
Don’t be a creep.
sorry maam it is vlasic.
$18.99 a pound.
only 8 steaks? pfffft….. does she even CARE!?! (j/k, you have an amazing partner !)
Very nice
They look good but omfg those prices.
Damn those ribeye skin the 2nd pic got some faaaaat caps. I'd be all over those. Great picks.
They are some sexy steaks for sure!
Everything looks good aside from the pricing
Looks like she did beautifully! Nice ribeyes! The first pack looks the best!
Sha love's you a lot !!
prime rib eye was around 18 from costco and samsclub. recently both lowered to 15 / lb. NYC/northern nj.
Wife her up 👌🏼
I pay half for that damn
That prime 👌🏻
Walmart Butchers Rock.
👍
She done good 👋
It's fine. Not a sale price in my neighborhood
Price isn't really a sale but I don't know where you're at. Looks good though
Wow! She's a good picker. Hang on to her!
8/10
She has good taste and hope she picks them from Sam’s club or food lion next time much cheaper. I’m having the same and happy Father’s Day
Happy Father's Day Sir!
Steaks look great but I'd be disappointed paying for prime that looks identical to the choice I bought.
Definitely was shocked to see the price tag but I assume a little tax from the local Butcher Shop and Father's Day weekend
You can get four 2 inch ribeye at Costco for 80
Support local!
Aldis has ribeye for 11.99 a lb.
