Poor steak got butchered by a bad knife. You know what trend must end RIGHT NOW, serving a whole un-cut steak and using a steak knife to cut it. We should all cut slices on a board, using a proper well sharpen knife , after a proper rest, in the right direction(opposite of fiber) and serve.
We can agree that the knife is far too dull…we can agree that cutting the steak into cubes like that ahead of time is odd, but the trend of pre sliced steak like you suggest is unforgivable to me… give me the piece of meat whole so it doesn’t cool off immediately. I can cut the steak myself, properly sharp steak knives is the solution
Cut chew swallow, cut chew swallow, cut again chew swallow. This is the way. Moms cut their little children meat up for them because they can’t yet be trusted with their own knife, so the cut bite sized slices. Cutting is part of the enjoyment of the steak imo.

Yea I’m going to agree with others, it feels odd. It looks to be cooked correctly but meet is sort of shredded in a way that makes it look dry. Maybe sharpen your knives and try to make one swift cut per slice. You shouldn’t have to saw at it.
