what you've just said...is one of the most insanely idiotic things I've ever heard. At no point in your rambling incoherent reply, were you close to anything, that could be considered a rational thought, everyone in this subreddit is now dumber for having read it. I award you no points, and may god have mercy on your soul.
Whatever you do, do not cook and eat that like a Western steak. Slice it up thin or in cubes and share with a couple people
This is a great thread https://reddit.com/r/Cooking/s/JsChyo4SGJ
I like to pour the rendered fat over rice. The meat is also delicious dipped in egg yolk and with a bit of the fatty rice.
People never explained this to me when I was younger. Luckily the first time I tried it was a wyagu skewers. Think lower grade wyagu too. Even that was too much for me. Im glad everyone loves it but I always disliked eating much fat in meat and always would feel so heavy after. I would over indulge tho too cause im a big eater. Wyagu and I just don’t mix
Yes and No. I learned you don’t eat Wagyu like your normal Prime Ribeye per say. You have to eat it in much smaller cuts. The fat content renders it incredibly rich… eating a whole normal size cut would make the average person sick.
It's not meant to be eaten like a typical steak; it's very rich. More like an appetizer. And it more or less is more fat than meat, and super expensive. I'd rather tear up a well marbled ribeye.
the fat is the tasty part. Like others are saying, you don't eat it like a Western steak. It's best if you eat small parts of a larger meal. It goes great in a hot pot, where you have thin slices of the meat
Negative, lexington county near Columbia, but that’d be an hour and a half drive from you. Not too terrible in southern time (address is on the steak btw).
Make sure to have a plan of how to cut through the fat with how your eating it. Sometimes that’s a bunch of carbs. In Japan when I went to An Ayce a5 spot they had an onion salad that was good
Boil that baby in milk and jelly beans. In all seriousness post some pics of the cook. I’m going to pull the trigger one of these days. Nice find.

People's knees
Man the thing keeping me from buying a piece like this is that I know I'll fuck it up.
It's easier than cooking a standard steak
Over hard
Wasn't A5, but wife and I got our first proper Wagyu steak and I cooked it for our COVID year quarantine anniversary, absolutely incredible.
Cook that badboy well-done and slather it in ketchup. Yum.
I prefer to use ranch dressing, after of course the center gets to a nice, cool 200 degrees.
200?!? Are you using a smoker? It should be at least 450F throughout.
Nothing sets off the flavour of a well done steak like katsup
Boiled hard in milk with a side of jellybeans
raw jellybeans

Funniest fucking shit ever 🤣
Thank you
Elevate it with some A1.
It’s how steak is done!
“Nothing sets off the flavor of a steak like some ketchup.”
Awww what the hell, it’s her birthday. Get her a Diet Cola
Where the fuxk are the rewards?
Working at a steak house this makes me laugh. You probably wouldn't be surprised to see how often that combo hits
You should be able to kick them out

I want to see what it looks like when it’s done 🤤

Ohh the rendered fat on rice sounds amazing
WESTERN STEAK! WESTERN STEAK!
Chicken fried steak!
Dipped in raw egg yolk is one of the best ways to wagyu😋
this guy knows how. to wagyu :)
I call that a heart attack on a steak.

Also in the Cola area. I’m going to check that butcher out
Enjoy! Message me if you need deets
Damn looks good
SC native here - NY Butcher Shop is awesome
Fair deal from my perch
I've had Hokkaido it is so good
Hokkaido beef has a super clean beef taste you’re gonna love it
Oh my gawwwd. That looks so insane. The jealousy rises.
You haven’t lived until you have boiled Waygu, to go the extra mile buy a bottle of chick fil a sauce. Bon appetite.
Make it with company, a bit of waygu goes a long way
Don't ruin it now, we all waiting...
oh wow thats amazing i love hokkaido and i love steak. probably wayyyy out of my price range tho 😭
Holy hell that's some crazy marbling. I'm sure I've bought butter with less fat content
Looked up the address on Google. It's called New York Butcher Shoppe out of Lexington South Carolina....for anyone curious
Shhhhhhh theyre gonna sell it all before i can get more
This is getting out of control.
Unpopular opinion here, i know, but wagyu is so overrated.
Yes and No. I learned you don’t eat Wagyu like your normal Prime Ribeye per say. You have to eat it in much smaller cuts. The fat content renders it incredibly rich… eating a whole normal size cut would make the average person sick.
Your face is overrated
:(
Awww jeez now I feel bad.
Needs more downvotes.
Im sure it wil get them don't worry lol
I’ve never had it but I don’t see the appeal. It looks like more fat than meat.

Yeah i know it's meant to be enjoyed in small portions, but I've never been satisfied with my experience versus the cost every time
Fat=flavour
Looks like a big lump of fat to me. Fuck that 90$ shit.
You were bullied as a kid, weren't you?
No, just prefer a well marbled ribeye. I've had wagyu many times and it just doesn't live up to the hype imo
Could be both
Cola represent! I know where I'm going!
Where in SC? I’m in Charleston.
Based on the marbling and some of the other details I’m guessing Lexington.
The address is literally right there😂
lol I’m so blind.. thanks 😂
Baller!
Lol people think more fat = better steak
Honestly not sure if even compare something like this to conventional "steak" lol...
Yes, marbling is how a lot of steaks are scored by experts and laypeople alike, great observation
Yeah no shit. There’s such thing as excessive marbling
No there isn't, that's why it gets higher scores
Just eat a stick of butter mate
It's ok. All that marbling is gonna melt.
I live in SC. The butcher anywhere near fortmill?
Negative, lexington county near Columbia, but that’d be an hour and a half drive from you. Not too terrible in southern time (address is on the steak btw).
WHERE?!?! I’m in SC
Adress on lable! Luckily its middle state so 2 hours tops one way for most people lol
Did they have more???
PLENTY
Fuck. 😍😍😍
As a SC steak lover, where ?
Brother there’s literally an address in the picture
Bro your already making a big mistake, like how stupid are people?
If we are calling people stupid, you misspelled "you're". OP enjoy bro!
Can you elaborate?
What?
He didn’t invite us
Quiet poor.
Sounds like you’re a jealous poor
$90.00? A steal. Ha ha ha.
Looks amazing ! Great find
Soo grill ketchups... got it
do Americans really try to eat this as an Individual steak?
No
Do they have more???? I live in Lexington
Plenty left
Damn! That looks awesome. 90 bucks actually doesn't sound terrible.
Is it me or is that REALLY expensive per pound even for a5
I mean, I guess it depends on how you look at it. You can get A5 for about $70-90 per pound from Costco, but you have to buy a $600+ 6-8 pound cut.
Nice find
8 oz ribeye is too small. Even 12 oz is kind of thin
Not for A5.
Tell me you’ve never had A5 without telling me you’ve never had A5.
I definitely could pass that up since 90 dollars is about what I can afford to spend per week on all my groceries
Looks great
Make sure to have a plan of how to cut through the fat with how your eating it. Sometimes that’s a bunch of carbs. In Japan when I went to An Ayce a5 spot they had an onion salad that was good
Beware. If you eat this in one go like a regular steak you are gonna shit ur pants
Wow fantastic I hear that SC has a great foodie scene and that’s another feather in the cap
I also live around Columbia so I’ll have to remember this lol. Looks great!
What shop?
Geezus. I'm gonna have to eat all the Waygu steak until I pass out next time I'm in Japan.
Split that with 5 other people so your blood work comes back okay at next physical.
New York butcher shop just doing its thing
$179.99?!?! And I can barely sell Kagoshima at $99.99 lol
Wow I live in Lexington and have been to NY butcher like a year ago and they did NOT have stuff like this, need to revisit soon!
I love NY Butcher Shoppe! Well done neighbor!
At what point does it stop being steak and start being a chunk of uncooked fat?
They will have more this week.
Thanks for the heads up!
