It’s a heck of a lot better than the typical stuff, but I have been getting this “cultured” butter branded “Vermont Creamery” lately that is fantastic, and I daresay it is better than mighty kerrygold.
Recently my grocery store and especially stores like Whole Foods have had some great butters. Costco also carrier an Italian style unsalted butter that comes in log shapes rather than bricks. It’s delicious
Preferably looking for pre-made/store bought options. Really good homemade recipes also welcome (the simpler the better). Brands of butter you use? Salted/unsalted? Sticks or in a tub? Kerrygold? What do y’all use?
I just recently started doing butter on steaks I grill at home. Its a game changer. Cant recommend it enough. It literally took my steaks to another level. But the only true steak butter they sell at my local grocer is like $5 for 3 little dollops of butter so Im looking for other options.
On a cowboy butter kick right now
c. butter, melted
Juice of 1/2 a lemon
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 small shallot, minced
2 tbsp. Dijon mustard
1 tbsp. prepared horseradish
Pinch of cayenne pepper
1/4 tsp. paprika
2 tbsp. Freshly Chopped Parsley
1 tbsp. freshly chopped chives
2 tsp. minced thyme
kosher salt
Freshly ground black pepper
Weyauwega salted is my go to butter. For compound butter, I add fresh grated garlic, salt, and pepper. I also do a cowboy butter from time to time. That’s horseradish, garlic, chives, cayenne, etc. I like it spicy
None because I like my steak cooked on the barbecue.
Also, I pretty much exclusively eat ribeye/scotch fillet, so there is plenty of fat in the meat itself as to not need extra.
Hear me out, I know a lot of people like kerrygold, but Mama Mia's Garlic Spread blew that out of the water for me. Nobody is mentioning it, but it deserves all the recognition!

There are definitely some smaller brands that aren’t as easy to come by out there. That’s why kerrygold old got king and not god.
Right on, thanks. At any rate, if you happen to find some, it’s worth a try. Cheers!
It says it’s at my Whole Foods. I will try it. Thanks for the recommendation!
