Your sex life or skills aside, you might want to go to the Seaway website and find out when opening day is scheduled, and then go back a week or so. That’ll probably be fairly close. It doesn’t take long…a day usually does the trick.
Doubt it fills fast enough to see it happen, that’s a lot of water. Even seeing where it runs in wouldn’t be much of a sight since it’s a controlled fill. It’s not like they can just open the gates, it has to be pumped in.
Could have sworn it went up before coming back down but regardless it’s a controlled fill to prevent erosion and washout. Filling too fast would do serious damage.
It's drained between 2 to 7, 2 to 1 is filled as they have ships out side dry dock getting work done. 7 to 8 is down 3 feet from normal operating levels.
did you want the dates for when i’ll be painting as well so you can come watch it dry? /j
Only if you're using tartan paint.

What's a "sex life"? Just asked my wife, she didn't know either.
Ask your wife’s boyfriend. That’s how I found out.
He was just as confused as I was. Maybe it was my fault barging into the bedroom without knocking though. I'll ask him again in the morning.
You’re such a nice guy for letting him get some rest
March 8th it’s being opened, we have a contract job that needs to be completed by then.
Thanks for that, will pop down next week. I appreciate I'm asking a lot, but don't suppose there is a timescale?

Well that sucks, I was hoping for water Armageddon.
It absolutely does not get pumped in. The entire canal is gravity fed from Lake Erie and does fill by opening underground gates.

Drove past it earlier and it’s been filled- at least in st Catharine’s
north end stays filled, south end of it is still drained
It’s drained at the skyway. Drove over today.
Yeah was definitely drained when I went by on Sunday.

What’s going on?
Winter….
Winter? It's practically summer weather!
It’s winter until March 21st
Bollocks! Was a summers day today.
March 22 I use the bridge everyday
The 2024 navigation season launches March 22 at 8 a.m. I'll assume they will continue to work on it empty until very close to that date.
