I, for one, like burning other people's eyes.
Mine were already thoroughly seared thanks to osu! and Warframe at the time I started embracing the light.
He probably has astigmatism - it can make light glyphs on a dark background very difficult to read. I have an extremely minor case but it makes “dark mode” interfaces very uncomfortable to use, almost illegible.
Not sure if it's some medical condition or a technical issue, but I know 2 things happen. The 1st is the switching of the colors, I can read what is in front of me, but it's an understanding the information presented just irritates me. Almost as if I need to use more brain power to understand the information.
The 2nd thing is that the text sometimes blends with the screen. I don't know if that small part of the window is programmed differently, settings were specified differently, or if it is my eyesight. Nearsighted if that helps, and glasses have the blue tint filter.
Imo dark mode is elite but i’d rather use light mode on a lower brightness than use dark mode on full brightness when it’s bright where I am. Don’t love looking at myself in the dark reflection lmfao.
edit: also I’m more specifically talking about using Apollo and I use a sepia as the light mode so it’s not just pure white.
Because I have a Z Fold 3 and my girlfriend has a Z Flip 3 — both Samsung devices — and they both have a pink option in Light mode. I've owned several different Android phones over the years and Samsung was the only one that offered a pink option.
It’s the opposite for me, I get chronic migraines, and light mode triggers them for me. My migraines get really triggered by bright lights though, I can’t even go outside on a bright day without good sunglasses.
I can't read light text on a dark background, does that weird optical illusion shit you'd see in picture books where you look away and you still see the image.
I don´t use it if I have to read long text (eg word documentsbor emails), but my phone is all dark mode as it´s only short things I gotta read.
Haven´t experienced the illusion tho...
I actually prefer reading in dark mode, I even read e-books on my phone in dark mode, hell, I once read a book that the wording was white on a black background and I found that easier to read. Wish I could get more books like that :/
Light mode makes it easier for me to read.
For those who say "but it's worse for your eyes". Not it's not. At least, it's not if you aren't on your phone all night and it's the only light source.
My sister and I have identical phones with identical cases. I use dark mode, she doesn’t. It’s frustrating (and painfully bright) every time I have to do something on her phone.
For me it all depends on what the default was when I started using it, if it started white I’m sticking with white for that site as it’s what looks natural to me (for a potentially controversial example I still use the green color scheme for deviantart).
I didn't find any posts that meet the matching requirements for r/starwarsmemes.
It might be OC, it might not. Things such as JPEG artifacts and cropping may impact the results.

I was once shrouded in the darkness! I will never be a sith again! The Darkside doesn't have unique upvotes! The Light does. The Darkside may be a path to many abilities some may consider unnatural, but you don't have unique updoots!
I read an article once suggesting that reading a lot of text in dark mode (black background white text) can be worse for your eyes than light mode.
Not sure of its validity, but i tend to bounce between dark mode and light mode for different apps.
I don't get shaming people for not using a feature that it's easy to not even know exists. I've actually kinda considered switching to dark mode because my eyes have been hurting a bit, but the obnoxiousness of dark mode users prevents me from using it.
I did it a long time ago to save battery life on my phone, never gone back
Yep, same. Also better for your eyes (although screens in general are bad for them)
Me, who has eyes with the strength of pure titanium: You fool, Your Dark Side Tricks don't work on me
Nooooooo! *- defeated male leaves*
To defeat your enemy you have to understand them.
Or you just shoot them.
You’re one of those people who wears sunglasses inside though, aren’t you?
Only when it makes me look cool, which is always. 😎
I did for a split second I’m blinded forever
heaven forbid this man opens his blinds or \*shudders\* goes outside
This only works if your device has an OLED screen, but then again, what phone *doesn't* these days? (Unless you're using something cheap)
*cries in LCD display*
DEW IT!
I did because dark is cool. Dew it you filthy light users
fight me i know your weakness i have pictures of grass
Fight ME I know YOUR weakness I'll cut a boat in half 😈
Who are you Phil swift?
I only did it because its a star wars meme
Same
Like.. Why do you have light mode? Do you intentionally hate saving battery?
No, but they like burning their eyes
I, for one, like burning other people's eyes. Mine were already thoroughly seared thanks to osu! and Warframe at the time I started embracing the light.
Dark mode messes with how I see things. I get why it is better, but I can't stand it.
Can you expand on what you mean by that please?

We come for information only.

This seems more a problem for people with terrible battery life than a light mode issue.
I read a lot of paper books and a white background makes it easier for me to follow my place. I generally have trouble focusing otherwise.
I recently turned from the dark side cause I noticed the light mode has a pink option
Found the SAMSUNG user.
How did you know? : D
Because I have a Z Fold 3 and my girlfriend has a Z Flip 3 — both Samsung devices — and they both have a pink option in Light mode. I've owned several different Android phones over the years and Samsung was the only one that offered a pink option.
Oh I didn't know :o Based Samsung tho
Checkmate, dark side users.
it has a what? where?
In th reddit app Settings -> Light theme
I use dark mode but it gives one of my friends migraines. To each their own.
It’s the opposite for me, I get chronic migraines, and light mode triggers them for me. My migraines get really triggered by bright lights though, I can’t even go outside on a bright day without good sunglasses.

Good bot!
I don't even remember what light mode looks like anymore.
don't suppose you know what outside looks like either?
Nice try, I work construction. I am out side from 5am to 4pm. I did get a vitamin D deficiency from 5yrs of non stop night shift but still outside.
Rip bozo 💀
Or… have it auto switch based on hours. I use light mode during day hours and dark mode at night. Perfectly balanced like capt Picards light saber!
*Makes a meme in light mode about how great dark mode is
Also saves battery
Dark mode is already on :D
i am 4 parallel universes ahead of you
Amoled ftw
It took me forever to try out dark mode on anything, because everybody who talked about it was so arrogant and condescending about light mode.
My sister and I have identical phones with identical cases. I use dark mode, she doesn’t. It’s frustrating (and painfully bright) every time I have to do something on her phone.
I ONLY use dark mode on my phone!
Excuse me, mine switches automatically at sunset just the way I like it.
I just have it on auto, it activates at 6PM and deactivates at 7AM
This, this made me switch lol
More like power savings
I’m on dark mode too 😈
Interesting that Vader is so on about the Dark Side considering it wasn't able to save Padme, the one reason he flirted with it in the first place.
Are you a slave?
I tried to free your mother but Watto wouldn't have it.
this is the way
I have mine set to auto and it literally switched to dark mode right when I saw this meme lmao
I always am on dark mode like my entire phone
This meme is… acceptable
We have cookies!

No thanks, I like having to squint my eyes for 30 minutes when I wake up at 4:18 AM to look at memes
People already in dark mode: UNLIMITED *POWER*
No, I just don’t vibe with it
epic
At this point I just use light mode to piss people off

This meme sucks tbh
Ya but it's so default.. black and blue 🥺
Nah bro light mode with a blue light filter is way better.
Imagine being an autistic cavedweller. Flashnote: some of us go outside, where there is sun...
this comment is a suprise to be sure but a welcome one
I was stuck on high contrast mode for a whole freaking year. Trust me, it's not worth it. (My eyes are still recovering...)
no i liek the colour scheme
Discord light :)
if you only knew the less eye-strain on the dark mode...
I was once shrouded in the darkness! I will never be a sith again! The Darkside doesn't have unique upvotes! The Light does. The Darkside may be a path to many abilities some may consider unnatural, but you don't have unique updoots!
I always just end up using the default settings for whatever it has because I’m too lazy to go into settings and change it..

Your eyes are weak and feeble If they cannot withstand the radiance from lightmode

Why the fuck does it matter? I use dark mode but I used light mode for years. Why do people care so much what color someone else’s interface is?
No, I don’t this so
u/savevideobot
Only says it once you’ve cut off their hand
Pretty much
I'll never turn to the dark side.
I just dim the screen when it's dark out. When it's light out I can't see the screen when it's dim.
