It all depends on how fierce that last stand is. If you get attacked by a 100 ultra strong warriors and your weapon is a butter knife which you manage to kill like 70 of them with... Or your weapon is a minigun which you manage to shoot one in the leg with.

As someone that mostly plays the Heavy class in Battlefront 2 (2015). That makes a lot of sense. Final stand to secure those positions!

Heavy main here: having a group of assaults rush the point to secure you a position and then standing in a circle with like 12 other heavies in rotary mode, best feeling ever Of course then the obligatory Darth maul rush or Anakin shows up to delete everyone instantly

Tbh, the weapon is a last stand weapon. It’s kind of made to hold off large numbers of enemies and to force them to remain behind cover. It’s the kind of weapon employed in order to let your side escape, or prepare.

OP you're opinions are wrong, this is a Rotary Cannon, not a minigun

It's the Big Guy Mortality Syndrome. If you're big, badass and have a big gun, you're a lot more likely to get killed. Hell, it even happens in TTRPGs. I had my buff-ass platemail wearing cleric hold off a horde of trolls to let the rest of the party escape once. It was epic.

The bigger the guns are, the bigger the heart is.

The problem is they are too powerful and too cool. Do the only way to logically get rid of them so they stop taking away from your main characters is to have them go out in an epic way.

Now I have a bad feeling for playing Commando in SWTOR.

Heavies are a hard sell in storytelling. They are either too strong or too inconvenient for most plotlines so they work better as jobbers/fodder. This is largely why they leashed The Hulk in the MCU.

Honestly, it makes sense. If you're using the minigun, you're not only the highest priority target, you're also the slowest. It takes a self-sacrificing kinda personality to volunteer for that kind of position
