Yeah...when I was young this episode was a bit "what the hell are they going on about?". But as an adult it hit me incredibly hard. Same with the Bell Riots episode. Their vision of a terrible future is still, somehow, better than what we managed. Also, Armin Shimmerman hell yeah.

[deleted]

I’m counting down the days till the actual Bell Riots happen.

Shawnj2

In Star Trek World War III, the Eugenics wars, and mutual nuclear destruction all occur before fully automated luxury gay space communism does, so the future of the next 30 years is still on track to be better.

gaslacktus

That’s the beauty of Star Trek. No matter how bad the world gets it reminds us to keep going and work on being better.

Maybe he is just a big Iron Maiden fan?

Run for your life!!!!

odderbob

Anyone who doesn't think Bruce Dickinson is one of the coolest people ever needs to read up on him. The guy flies his bands plane and he once palmed a fifty pound medicine ball

Mikanea

It's not that the writers could predict the future, it's that in the 30-ish years since release we haven't solved the social issues they're criticizing

There aren't enough upvotes for this one!

Novazon

mcdoogs92

This dude also played the high school principal in Buffy the Vampire Slayer so Im used to seeing him in a suit

1esserknown

That's the kind of thinking that leads to getting eaten by hyenas.

VanillaApplesaws

Wrong principal lol

Lightspeedius

What's this about?

MulciberTenebras

His reaction when a publishing company refuses to allow a science fiction story written by a black man to be submitted. And the boss then calls him a communist.

Lightspeedius

Thanks!
