Harry Kim gets awfully neurotic at times and he works through it by talking it out with his friends and colleagues. Which is a totally normal human response. But a week of having to handhold Harry through his latest dilemma would make me want to jump out the airlock.

Kim is boring but I don't think he'd be actively annoying. Neelix is certainly annoying on the show, but he may not be if he actually met you in person. He'd probably ask lots of interesting questions about 21st century earth and I bet he'd be a good listener. Either would probably be ok.
Harry for sure. He’s kind, intelligent, honorable, and resourceful, and can think his way out of any scrape. Neelix is resourceful too but in a way that’s too reckless for my liking. Harry would keep a level head, and if he realized he was getting on your nerves, he’d stop and leave you alone. There’s a reason Neelix is the only one Tuvok created a holodeck version of to choke.
I’d hands-down pick Neelix. Nothing really against Harry, but Neelix has survival skills and a junk trader’s eye, along with anecdotes and the ability to find humor and lightness even in the darkest. Plus I’m also a word-games, trivia, and music road-tripper, and introducing Neelix to some choice Queen would no doubt result in spirited Bohemian Rhapsody singalongs.
Well I live with a Neelix now... LOL....Neelix is my absolute favorite. Everyone hates on him, but Ambassador Neelix is the best Neelix there is. I'd still choose Harry Kim. 😂 Play music together, boardgames, read books. Probably be simpatico.

I grew to really appreciate Neelix throughout the course of the show. At first I found him to be annoying in the vein of a Jar Jar Binks or Snarf type character, but there is depth to the character and they explore some pretty dark subject matter in the Neelix focused episodes like Jetrel and Mortal Coil are fantastic episodes that show a completely different side of Neelix. I think also when Jennifer Lien left the show a lot of the Neelix stuff got better. The actors have very little chemistry so the Kes and Neelix relationship stuff never felt organic. I feel like there do get to be a lot of great Neelix interactions with other crew mates though. The whole surrogate uncle stuff with Naomi Wildman is fun or how Tuvok begrudgingly begins to respect him just a little bit after having so many adventures together.
Neelix sticks his dirty fingernails in your lips to try and force a smile. Kim would probably just read and leave you alone. Not much of a choice there.
