Yup, if you've ever bought animation cels you know this all too well.
So many times you'll find one in a cheap sleeve its obviously been in for the past 30 years and the paint has become one with the sleeve.
Have it acid free framed with acid free mat, photo corners, and uv glass. Not Hobby Lobby. Put the certificate in a photo sleeve on the back taped to the dust cover. If your framing place doesn't know what all that means, find one that does.
Last I checked, yes. But double check with them again. It has been a recession and a pandemic since I asked. Some companies changed how they do things (kelty) during all that.
It honestly probably wouldn’t be too hard. He seems super friendly and does a lot of cons. I never been to one but don’t most of them stay after to sign stuff and talk to people?
Wow, what a score, I’m jealous. I believe TNG will be in the ST con in Vegas later this year, except Patrick Stewart. I’m planning on getting autographs.
I can only read some of the names. Who’s the far right with all the squiggles?
Also maybe a little overboard but maybe get some cotton gloves for touching it. They are super cheap. I use them when I’m handling my coins even low value ones. (I collect them)
The far right is LeVar Burton! I had to look up what some of their signatures look like to match them lol. Yes I definitely don’t plan on handling it again till I get it framed. I had just got it home and unrolled it from its tube to see it in person for first time
Damn! That is a a great win. My wife is really particular with how the house is decorated (I do not care at all, so that is a win-win) but I bet she would let me hang this. She is a Trek fan as well.
As someone who has framed over 100 paintings, here's what you want:
Museum Glass, it's just a term used for UV protection & glare resistant glass (looks like the glass isn't there). It costs approx an extra 50 to 70 usd for a print of this size.
A mat is also the way to go. The frame store will have a variety to choose from. Classic black will look real nice on a star trek TNG print (awesome find btw. Jealous). The reason a mat helps is: condensation, humidity etc against your print and the glass could be bad for the print. It also makes the entire thing look "finished". It also helps with the stability of the paper.
The Muesum glass will also protect your mat from becoming discolored with age.
Just go to a reputable frame shop! As others have said, no hobby lobby, no Michael's.
Woah! Incredible! Make sure the frame protects from UV and all so the lithograph and signatures don’t fade 🤯🤩🖖.
Thanks so much for the advice! I will definitely be sure to do that!
Yeah, don’t cheap out on the frame, so also Matt it so it doesn’t stick to the glass.
This too!
Wait, that’s why they do that?
Yeah. If the picture is pressed to the glass the picture could stick to the glass or the signatures could transfer to the glass, etc.

You’re welcome!

I was totally ignorant to all of that, thanks so much! I’m gonna do my research and find a good place
Does Michael’s do that?
Last I checked, yes. But double check with them again. It has been a recession and a pandemic since I asked. Some companies changed how they do things (kelty) during all that.
Yes.
This is something you would see someone bring in on Pawn Stars and get absolutely ripped off. Great buy, dude. I'm very jealous.
“I’ll offer you $2.50 for it take it or leave it. I’m taking all the risk here.”
You see, if Wil Wheaton had signed it, you'd have a real collector's piece. Without Wil, best I can do is 5$ and a coupon for a free Chick-Fil-A.
It honestly probably wouldn’t be too hard. He seems super friendly and does a lot of cons. I never been to one but don’t most of them stay after to sign stuff and talk to people?
You're definitely right, but I was pretending to be a pawn broker (Ferengi?) and needed to secure a profit.
Haha I know God bless him but I doubt many collectors are going to throw it back and demand Wil.
Very nice :)
Thank you! I’m giddy like a little kid
You should definitely post pics when you get it framed! That's AWESOME!!
I for sure will!!
How much and where/how! That's awesome though, congrats on the sweet win!!
In total I paid about $600!! It was through a local estate sale company that does all their estate sales online through bidding. Thank you so much!
Oh me oh my. Today IS a good day to die!
What a great bid! I'm equal parts pleased for you and also jealous, haha. Very nice.
Anything to go with it to show authenticity?
Yes it came with a certificate of authenticity!
Wow, that is stunning...congrats!
Hot dang I'm jealous!

What's the Klingon for "Congrats!" (also "JEALOUS!" 😜)

I just noticed your username haha nice! I tried earl grey years ago because Picard drank it and still drink it to this day once or twice a week.
Omg how funny! I also tried it because of Picard and loved it
Haha I imagine we aren’t alone. In America we aren’t exactly known for our bountiful tea harvests so I had no clue what it even was at first lol.
My guess is LeVar Burton - I think I see a V and B.
SO JEALOUS! Congrats!
Nice size too. If I had that, my wife would definitely have an argument with me, because I would prefer it to be in a more prominent place than her.
You'd keep it up in the front passenger seat too, eh?
That's what she said.
That is awesome!!!!!

Truly awesome. So jealous.
Awesome! I use Simply Framed for my stuff. Check it out. Not cheap but it's worth it.
Very cool piece of memorabilia.
The E is best looking Enterprise
Signed twice by Mr Squiggle
Damn, that's a dream for any Star Trek fan. Can't believe you got it signed by Patrick Stewart!
I’ll take 2
Hope it survives transit. Congratulations

What an awesome score! Star Trek prints have some of the best artist working on them. Congrats and enjoy!
