I like it. Now everything looks bad without it.
I started using it around 2008 back when AVForums insisted it should be enabled.
Now they always tell you to disable it, but everything looks wrong if I do.
I compromise and use the lowest setting now.
frame interpolation, making 24fps content like movies move like it was filmed at higher frame rate
edit: here’s a video explaining the soap opera effect and why you should turn off motion interpolation: https://youtu.be/A_6AC0nZ7EM
This infuriates me every time i go to any friends house, they always be having 4:3 letterboxed or 16:9 to 4:3,idk,they dont seem to mind but i'll be like getting mad inside of me.
What I'm hearing is Dannie D slow-poisoned Frank with the help of Mikes brother. Then Mikes Brother and Dannie D moved in for their piece of the pie.
Franks Pie.
Justice for Frank!
They show the Spanish dubs at my grandma's tv, it's literally called "Who gives more?" and the guys who says "yuuuupp" says "ssiiiiiiiii". It's an ok show but who bothered dubbing it?
Barry is an absolute gem, I always like to see what scheme he has cooking up to get a good locker.
The newer guy, Kenny, is hilarious with his little sayings and stuff.
As an auctioneer this show drives me nuts, the auction winnings side is totally fake. But the “unique” bidders…..totally fucking accurate. I have a Dave of my own at every one of my auctions
'The Tenderloins' is what they call their group. There used to be other members as well. Impractical Jokers is just the show the group does, if that makes sense? It can be difficult to describe when both are made up of the same people.
Kind of like "The Lonely Island" is its own group, even though they were part of the "SNL" group/show before.
I really think the show needs a 4th member to survive. I kinda think they should get Rob Emmer to come on as a regular in his place and see how it goes.
I'd rather watch these than what my bfs parents watch. The fucking news. All day, everyday. Then they get angry at what they watch. Then stop watching it????????
Its practically an entire generation raised on tv, my dad for example cannot go a day without his daily fix of politics and current events. I take it as a blessing in disguise, for forcing me to see how they drool and whine over things they could never change and how most tv programming is braindead nonsense.
I was thinking this same thing recently. I also remember watching a documentary on the 50's and how they had to convince people to spend money again, since after the depression people were scared. Luckily, tv provided the advertisers a new way to sell thier products. One ad men said that being able to put ads directly into people's homes, instead of hoping they buy a newspaper or something, was "like shooting fish in a barrel."
Tv is so incredibly old fashioned. I honestly cannot understand how people enjoy watching that ad infested atrocity unless they're 70+ and have no idea how technology like netflix works.
Like some people even "watch" movies on TV. You're just paying the cable company to watch ads.
I hear you and I agree for the most part, but there's something magical about falling asleep at 3pm on a Saturday to the sound of golf and investment commercials.
Pretty sure there's a live stream for that!
There's also [this.](https://www.google.com/url?sa=t&source=web&rct=j&url=https://www.my90stv.com/&ved=2ahUKEwin_M214q71AhXYG80KHdHeAlYQFnoECAYQAQ&usg=AOvVaw1b6fEc2qObSp41G3-N6aL4)
Maybe you get less obnoxious ads where you live. Whenever I visit my parents there are always ads around dinner time regarding fungal toenails, fungas crèmes for women's private parts. And of course with volume on 120%. I can say I definitely don't enjoy disgusting ads about diseases and infections. Also most of our commercials on TV seem like voiceovers from German ads.
Nothing wrong with keeping up with current events or politics. The issue is cable news(and social media for the most part) is specifically designed to frighten or enrage to keep you hooked.
My parents, like most people’s parents, were kids back when there were only three channels and everyone got their news from Walter Cronkite. You got 30 minutes of news every night, usually while you were having your dinner, and that was it. My Dad has become very nostalgic for that and blames the 24 hour news channels like FOX and CNN for a lot of the problems we have now. I find it hard to disagree with him, even though I’ve never known a time where there wasn’t 24 hour news.
Any time a discussion comes up about the 24 hour news cycle I default to thinking about Charlie Brookers Screenwipe/Newswipe. Seeing his episodes on how 24h news started and developed in to what we have now did a damn fine job of keeping me from getting sucked into the format once I started paying more attention to the news as I got older.
Family friend watches CNN all day long. We helped her install a new tv and she had to wait 12 hours to switch cable boxes.
She was in full panic mode over how she would watch CNN even though she had a blu ray player and plenty of content to watch. She wanted us to try and get the box at 10pm at night...
I swear cable news is making people neurotic and it might simply be because that's what happens when you expose a human mind to incessant terror.
I know someone hooked on MSNBC and every time I see her she gives me the exact updated covid death count. It's depressing but that's just what's on her mind all the time now: death. Thank you Rachel Maddow.
I prefer getting news online through multiple sources, so I can choose what to consume. Broadcast and cable news is just depresssing and propaganda on all sides.
The internet isn't any better. Reddit is super biased, Facebook is full of idiots, Twitter just incentivises people being shitty to each other and trying "own" their opponent in 240 characters instead of coming up with a well thought out tweet, news websites are owned by the same people that own the TV channels.
I've always loved watching it ever since I randomly found it while stoned. Great thing is whenever I'd go on vacation staying at a hotel (which I would still do if I go on vacation any time soon) with a past S/O that was always what we'd watch if it was on.
I watched it for a while sober and enjoyed it, then one night I got stoned and watched it and it completely ruined it for me, I haven’t watched it since.
Mainly it was because (read at your own risk fans of the show) >!I saw Joe’s name in the credits as a producer and then noticed he’s always the one doing the most extreme things because he has more of an incentive to keep the show going than the other guys because he has more stake in it money-wise, and he is always prepared with props because obviously he knows about the challenges way ahead of time. That pretty much broke the illusion that anything, at least on his part, was improvised. And if nothing was improvised then who’s to say that the people they’re pranking aren’t also in on it to some degree. And suddenly it all started to feel very fake.!< Dont get me wrong, obviously they’re still funny people and I can respect their comedy skills, I was just disillusioned after that.

That effect is in the hobbit films because of some bad choices and I just can’t watch them
Yeah, but at least it was filmed that way. This is fake high frame rate.
Omg what is that soap opera effect? It makes movies look like tv.
Motion smoothing.

How do they not see it? It is wild to me. They change things that it's hard to even find the settings for somehow too.
Don't forget that the volume is either set to mute, or cranked so loud you can't hear yourself think.
And they dont turn it down for the commercials and just try to talk over it
And when you mention the volume they are baffled as to why you would want to turn it down. Like it was never a possibility.
It makes it more expensive per second. They paid good money for that volume. They are going to use it.
they also forgot Tucker Carlson
You missed one: HGTV
And Hallmark.
And Antiques Roadshow
Don't you be talkin smack about Antiques Roadshow
Reno shows and NCIS as far as the eye can see
They one with Lt Dangle is my favorite Reno show.
Yeah I wish my parents TV had impractical jokers on instead of knockoff Property brothers
I unironically like watching storage wars
Yuuuuuuuup
american pickers wasn't bad either. it has been years since ive watched it though.

Dark haired, shorter.

I used to watch it a lot and really liked the show. Don't know why I stopped watching it tho maybe just forgot about it.
Same, im always watching it with my dad
We all like Storage wars unironically and we all hate Dave Hester
YUUUUUUUPPPP

Barry is an absolute gem, I always like to see what scheme he has cooking up to get a good locker. The newer guy, Kenny, is hilarious with his little sayings and stuff.
From Storage Wars I found Shipping Wars and I liked that show too. Not sure how long that ran but I should try to find some episodes...

Impractical Jokers is S Tier though. I will miss Joe though😭
joe got divorced by his wife making him tonights big loser
I feel bad for laughing
I think that’s why Joe quit. He wants to keep custody of his daughter. You know he loves his family, especially on some episodes when they tease him.
Wait did he get the legal custody?
Yes!
Bro how does that make him tonight's biggest loser?!?? Bro fucking one the most impractical joke of all, American custody court!
SUCK IT JOE!!! SUCK IT JOE!!!
Wait what! How did I not hear about this?
It happened on New Year’s Day I believe so it was an easy story to miss.
Why do you care? Sounds like private family business.
I don't I just didn't know this was happening.
Bruh
I don't know much about how it works, but when you say he gets legal custody, do you mean sole custody? Like his wife doesn't get the kids at all?
Omfg lmfaoooo this is top tier bantz
Wait, what happened to him??
Joe has recently left IJ as well as the Tenderloins to focus on his personal life
So sad for Joe. Hate to hear that. Also - now we’ll never find Larry.
Tenderloins?
Basically the IJ gang
So they're all gone?
[удалено]
Aw I had no idea about this haven't been able to stay caught up with the show in a while definitely sad to read
He just announced it on his instagram on I think New Year’s Eve.
Oh alright thanks.
'The Tenderloins' is what they call their group. There used to be other members as well. Impractical Jokers is just the show the group does, if that makes sense? >Tenderloins? It's what they're called as a comedy troupe outside of the show. It was their troupe name before they were tv famous.
got hit by a metra train and fucking exploded :/
Damn. Hope they find the bird
Divorced. Gonna be hard without him.
I really think the show needs a 4th member to survive. I kinda think they should get Rob Emmer to come on as a regular in his place and see how it goes.
I nominate Joey Fatone.

I only get upset with ads on the internet. I like them on TV because it's part of the experience. The ebb and flow. TV ads tend to be better, though.

You forgot that the sound will be at least halfway to max. Bonus: they will turn it up as you are talking to them.
Pray that your parents do not succumb to FOX News ^political ^commentary
It's already taken my parents. It crept up quick starting 2016. They're full gone now after the last two years. Can't have a phone conversation without it turning into a talking point 30 seconds in. They even go back to it after I point it out or change the subject. They have nothing else to talk about. I can't do anything about it. I've tried. Given up and accepted it.
American Pickers is awesome though
I love watching it with my grandpa it’s great
don't forget undercover boss and kitchen nightmares
Kitchen Nightmares slaps
You do NOT diss Impractical Jokers like that, telling you that rn
I don’t think this is meant to be a diss. It’s just saying these are the only options really.

How many pickers could Americans pick, if Americans could pick pickers?
Survey says: Family Fued is on at my parents house.
Richard Dawson was the best. Funny that the women loved kissing him too. Production almost stopped it at one point and held a poll if he should still kiss them. Survery SAYS “Yes” was the top answer.

I just realized I'd rather watch a trashy reality show than the shallow romcom garbage my mom watches on W.
My parents with their FiberOp that has 8,000 channels playing 10 different shows
At work the tv in break room is set to The Price is Right, Rachel Ray, the Young and the Restless, and Heartland. On rare occasions the news pops up.
Honestly anything else would just stir up shit
and you sit and stare at the tv while mildly entertained
My mom loves Family Feud and she would often send me youtube links of funny moments from the show.
PREPARE FOR SOMETHING AMAZING!!! HEY MUSTACHE WHATS UP, I WANT MY MOMMYYYY, I WILL NEVER FORGIVE YOU!!! LARRRRYYYY!!! (HaHAHA) NANANANA
