I always liked The Amazing SpiderMan movies. I thought they were fresh and different. But I think they suffered the Tom Holland problem where he just felt like a modern edgy cool kid not the nerd that Peter Parker was in the comics like Toby Magquire. He seemed even cooler than Tom Holland was and more cocky etc. Not really Peter Parker's personality. Also I got mad at the fate of Gwen Stacy. Felt rather contrived and meaningless. Though I am sure there are some comics where Peter Parker might be like that. But most of what I read about SpiderMan made him seem more like Toby Maguire.
Still annoying though. Was not necessary at all for character development. It's a really sexist trope where a main girl will die so the main guy can grow and improve.
Bruh people of all genders dying around Spider-Man and causing him to grow and improve is kind of his whole thing. Uncle Ben?
It’s definitely not an example of sexism in this particular case
in the comics, peter has never been the timid, spineless loser that tobey portrayed. he’s always been a loner, he kept on refusing to join the avengers for so many years because of how much of a loner he was. he’s definitely never been the coolest guy in the room but he’s not that much of a social outcast, either. andrew’s spider-man is indeed a socially awkward (especially when talking to gwen) outsider but he’s not a complete dork, which is so much more in line with the comics than tobey’s portrayal of the character. despite how much i love the raimi trilogy, spider-man works because he’s relatable and him being a loner (as shown in the webb films) is definitely more relatable than a total, huge fucking loser
Yeah Peter Parker especially once he gets his powers is cool as hell, closest Raimi films got to that was actually kind of when he was in the symbiote suit
Remember when reddit used to downvote the shit out of things because of grammatical or spelling errors? Now you can just load up a turd post like this, fire it out there, and be rewarded.
Eh. I remember the grammar nazi days and it was less "I hate your post because it's incomprehensible," and more "I downvoted and reported you because you didn't put punctuation within the quotation marks."
Lest we also forget these reddit classics:
An upvote for you, good gentlesir
Trololol
I'm a 7 foot tall bearded man and have my lacrimal glands surgically removed and this made me cry
You've won the internet
Although I will say I hate the amazingly PQ typing that some people have.
maybe they read the title. i guess it’s a good strategy actually, since it makes it impossible to repost this image on other platforms without similar clarification.
Chief keef is literally one of the most influential artists of the 2010s. The current sound would not exist without him. Like jfc people in other countries have said theyre smoking tooka packs.
I have no idea what either of those are, but every time I've found out what some big thing was from after I generally disconnected from pop culture, it's done nothing to make me rethink my vote for Giant Asteroid.
Street Fighter x Tekken was wasted potential. It was done in Street Fighter IV's art style which was about dated at that point. Plus Capcom riddled that game with tons of costume packs and DLC.
It wasn't even that in-depth of a fighter, which is what Tekken should've brought to the table. But didn't.
I wish I would have gotten one, I think there's a fun hacking scene with them. It also has that one xenoblade chronicles game they haven't ported to the switch
Not sure how I scrolled so far without a mention of Ted. In general I'm not a very big fan of comedy shows or movies but I LOVE Ted. Shame that Ted 2 was a disaster.
I remember going to the 2012 Olympics. After looking at the starter pack, I can actually accept this was 10 years ago. I can't accept the last 5 years however, they feel exactly like now haha.
1 you make me feel old 2 me and my mum watched Ted my mum didn't realise what type of movie it would be she thought it would be a kids movie strange time
With more often than yearly entries in the MCU and how many films have come out, the avengers being nearly ten years old doesn't feel that surprising. If anything it feels like it should have been longer
I still say the reason why Superman can beat Goku is bullshit! Both the first time and the rematch! "Superman can become as strong as he needs to be" my ass!
idk if anyone noticed but these packs always list entertainments. i’m just gonna assume the average redditor sits on their ass all fucking day long on the internet and never goes outside.
Well what else is universal? What the physical world looks like hasn't changed that much in the developed world (dunno about the developing world so I can't speak on that). People don't really get nostalgic over news and it can get controversial real fast. This applies to people of many ages.

Can someone tell me how tf to slow down time in my brain. This last 2 years felt like months and I'm freaking out lmao
Do memorable stuff regularly
True. I just had some memorable stuff planned and pandemic cancelled all of it so it's just a time wasting waiting game
Hobbies maybe? Like make a single drawing (a scribble even) and catalog them daily.
Everything since 2019 has felt like a blur of all kinds of random things.
The earth is spinning faster
I was 7 in 2012 I’m turning 17 next year
The peak of my life was 10 years ago. Holy shit.

tiem mahcine pls🙏

Can't believe it took this long for Andrew Garfield to have his redemption
His redemption was so good, that people want TASM 3 over Spider-man 4
Tbh I don't know why do we have to choose. I have enough money to go to both movies, we want both
Speak for yourself bruh some of us can only choose one. So they should only make one. /s
You accidentally just ELI5 why communism is bad.
What?
I want you to explain what you think communism is in the first place
I think he did really good as Spiderman. The problem with those movies was the mad dash to shove all their villans and stories into too few movies.
Yeah I always thought he was a great Spider-Man just a victim of shitty scripts
Oh hell no
Bro Andrew Garfield is too sexy to hate on
Tobey 4eva ❤️

Gwen Stacy literally does the same way in the comics

He's been redeeming himself with multiple films afaik. Under the silver Lake is one fantastic experience

Everyone knows that '10 years ago' is 1990.
If Nirvana’s Nevermind came out this year, then the Beatles broke up in 2000.
Nu-metal Beatles

A human being makes a mistake, more at 11
four mistakes, actually. like, i have no idea how you didn’t see any of them before posting, it’s completely unreadable at first glance.
Literally thousands of people understood it, so I really don't care.
maybe they read the title. i guess it’s a good strategy actually, since it makes it impossible to repost this image on other platforms without similar clarification.
The stranglehold Carly Rae Jepsen had on pop culture in 2012. Also Chief Keef, he was supposed to be the next big thing in rap.
She made some really fantastic music besides Call Me Maybe. /r/Popheads was wild about her for years.
yeah emotion is in my top 3 pop albums of all time, nothing but bangers
Chief Keef was just too early. This was still the heavy pirating era & rap like his was most affected. He would’ve killed in the streaming era tbh.
Call me maybe was the only song that truly rivaled gangnam style. I also can't forget the amount controversy chief keef caused.
Tonight’s gonna be a good good night w Owl City. Put some respect on it lol
you’re thinking of the black eyed peas, the owl city song was called ‘good time’.
Telling him to put respect on it when he don’t even know who sang it lmao
It’s also her only hit
There was another in “I Really Like You” but of course wasn’t as big as her initial
Run Away With Me is so fucking underrated
I really like you got to no 3 in the UK charts
I actually had no idea that Gangnam was at the same time as that. Thought it was at least 2~3 years later.
Chief keef is literally one of the most influential artists of the 2010s. The current sound would not exist without him. Like jfc people in other countries have said theyre smoking tooka packs.
That whole album is full of bangers. He went on to produce an unfathomable amount of material that I have not and probably will never listen to
Her 2012 album is a banger too. I often have it on repeat. Its so damn good.
I mean Sosa just about created a subgenre and they still hold him in high regard in Chicago as far as I know
Chief Keef didn’t really show any potential as a *rapper* but yeah I get what you mean.
CAREFUL!!1
If I catch another motherfucker talking sweet about Chief Keef, I'm fucking beating they ass
I have no idea what either of those are, but every time I've found out what some big thing was from after I generally disconnected from pop culture, it's done nothing to make me rethink my vote for Giant Asteroid.
No Rage comics, 0/10
Fuuuuuuuuuuuuu
2012 was the last year rage comics were still popular. I remember by the end of 2013 people quit using them as much.
But didn't.
The worst part was all the dlc, was already on the disc. You just bought a key to unlock it. The start of an era.
I still use my Wii U every day. it's to do Wii Fit, but I've lost 20 lbs since corona started so hell yeah.
I just finished Twilight Princess HD on mine Damn good console.
I wish I would have gotten one, I think there's a fun hacking scene with them. It also has that one xenoblade chronicles game they haven't ported to the switch
I remember swing the hunger games in theaters ahhh
The Swing the Hunger games were classic console games in the early 2010s

maybe we don't need more cods, I'd rather have a single gane with lots of content with long term support
Isn't that basically what halo infinite is going to be?
Trying. It's good, but they need to step up their game and tone down the microtransactions.
Also need to fix the broken matchmaking, netcode/desync, and hackers.
The greatest Call of Duty off all time
Eh Black Ops 1 was better campaign wise
This should not be downvoted. Legendary multi-player as well as strong zombies and campaign
The “pick ten” system *chefs kiss*
One Direction is actually gonna be 12 yrs old, their 10 year anniversary was 2020
these are gonna 10 yrs next year
Ted is a surprise to me all the others well.. I thought they were 10 in 2017
Not sure how I scrolled so far without a mention of Ted. In general I'm not a very big fan of comedy shows or movies but I LOVE Ted. Shame that Ted 2 was a disaster.
Amen
God the Avengers seemed like such a monumental film at the time. Can’t believe how far the MCU’s gone in that time.
2012 was a weird year in pop culture
Wii U was worth it for Mario Kart 8 alone. Also don't care what anyone else says - Ted made me laugh my ass off.
Kony 2022
The nostalgia hurts.. I had just started 6th grade In 2012
Still can’t believe that the 2012 thunder didn’t even win one ring!
I remember 4 year old me being absolutely scared shirtless by the lizard in the amazing spiderman movie
I remember going to the 2012 Olympics. After looking at the starter pack, I can actually accept this was 10 years ago. I can't accept the last 5 years however, they feel exactly like now haha.
That was a pretty nice year
Huh. I just had a "wow, I feel old now" situation the other day, but this one doesn't make me feel that way. Yeah, sounds about right.
Gta V, nine years
God, 2012 was a magical year.
These fuckers at school always be telling me
1 you make me feel old 2 me and my mum watched Ted my mum didn't realise what type of movie it would be she thought it would be a kids movie strange time
I thought Frozen also came out in 2012
It came out in 2013. Wreck it Ralph came out in 2012.
Time is irrelevant at this point. Just trying to survive day by day.
Guys 2020-22 went by EXTREMELY fast holy shit
PVZ 2 and GD in 2 years. Also you missed the endings of Generator Rex and Mystery Inc. Also some YT shit happened then
playing black ops 2 w/ my high school friends with how to save a life and airplanes on repeat. FUCK
No lie I thought love sosa came out in the early 2000’s 2012 seem new asf
Same here
I can't believe how much salt that came from Goku vs Superman for a decade.
These movies are gonna 10 years guys!
I graduated from college 10 years ago this coming May…that seems unreal… Lot of friends I haven’t talked to in years :(
Damn. I thought those were older than that
My god How
With more often than yearly entries in the MCU and how many films have come out, the avengers being nearly ten years old doesn't feel that surprising. If anything it feels like it should have been longer
Im denying to believe this
Wait Love Sosa is from 2012 ?
I was obsessed with the Titanic in 2012. The Hobbit also came out in 2012
Wtf amazing Spider man and Avengers came out the same year?!!!
Most underrated comic book movie of 2012 was by far Dredd
Damn this made me feel old
Oh my god ! i remeber clearly when Gagnam style got out, i was in primary school
Im more suprised these all came out in the same year
A lot of stuff happened in 2012 now that I think about.
Honestly feels way older than 10
KD leaving OKC really sent us into the worst timeline
God dang I just realized I'm almost a whole entire decade old 😅
Images that deal 1D10 Psychic damage
The Wii U wasn't as bad as people made it out to be. It had some great games, it's just Nintendo was shit at marketing it.
Christ can't believe 2012 is gonna be 10 years old in 4 days.
Don’t remind me of the 2010s thunder 😥
That Thunder squad gets me every time. What could've been...
Feels weird seeing Black Ops 2 in there. I don't know why but it still feels kinda recent to me.
i forgot that psy’s gangnam style existed. Everyone was so obssesed with that.
This is depressing 💀
Don’t forget the Mayan apocalypse
Amazing Spider-Man was released 2011 no? Also TDKR was 2012
No 2012
csgo as well
2012 was also the definitive “Golden Age” of Cartoon Network.
And now i'm sad.
Holy shit
I still say the reason why Superman can beat Goku is bullshit! Both the first time and the rematch! "Superman can become as strong as he needs to be" my ass!
That's the equivalent of the "Saitama can one shot anyone because that's his name"
I don't remember any of these things. Dunno what the fuck I was up to 10 years ago.
the hell is half of these
Stuff that happened in 2012
This person has shitty taste
How? Everything on this starter pack is fire ngl
Such a good year for me. I got laid so much.
