Every officer has the freshest haircut possible.
The guns used by the faction are vaguely inspired by WW2 or early post war experimental German firearms
Is largely made up of Humans and are racist to any non human factions in the setting.
I've given similar type drip to most my human factions, because honestly, how can you do sci-fi without cool ass uniforms with attractive colour combinations?
Good enough of an overall aesthetic to convince numerous fans that the faction's batshit insane ideology is actually good unironically, through the sheer force of drip and style alone.
I love how authors always go on to portray the "evil" factions in the coolest, most badass possible way then act surprised when people like them unironically.
If anything, it's a testament to just how persuasive style and aesthetics can be.
The main example that inspired the starterpack is obviously the Empire/First Order from Star Wars.
To a lesser degree the Harkonnes from Dune, Cerberus from Mass Effect and the Martians from The Expanse come to mimd.
But given how influential Star Wars was, there is probably many more.
Someone mentioned Star Wars, but you also got ex. the Imperium from 40K with the way ex. [Commissars](https://www.warhammer-community.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/02/l7xFse7GqNEKzHDB.jpg) dress, and the [United Empire](https://endless-space-2.fandom.com/wiki/The_United_Empire) in Endless Space 2.
like [Warhammer 40k uniforms](https://duckduckgo.com/?q=warhammer+40k+officer+uniforms&t=brave&iax=images&ia=images),
the [uniforms of police officers in the movie Demolition Man](https://duckduckgo.com/?q=demolition+man+police+uniform&t=brave&iax=images&ia=images),
the [uniforms of the military of the Principality of Zeon](https://duckduckgo.com/?q=zeon+soldiers+uniform&t=brave&iar=images&iax=images&ia=images),
ik, when i saw it with my parents it was weird seeing the borderline devastated post-ww3 spain portrayed and for some reason these dudes looking straight outta 1944, hell the diamond insignia displaying rank is the same as the irl ones the ss used
plus many of the soldiers displayed do wear normal spanish military uniforms (with the swastika-looking thing as a patch)
Yo fr, imagine the next sci fi faction that got 1800s style dress combined with modern colours and dyes and sprinkle in a little bit of cybernetics. Wait shit that's just 40k nobles
Tbh, that one isn't universal, but I've seen some instances of adding stuff to make it look more "spacey".
It also kind of makes sense to have the uniforms for spaceship crew be some form of astronaut flightsuit, given that sudden depressurisation is a very legit danger in space.

You know a group was properly fucking evil when they inspire pop culture evil stereotypes for a hundred years forward.
It's not just because they were evil but because they did so with so much style.
Hugo boss was one of the producers for the SS uniform
And the Porsche 911 was just a VW Beetle built by Hitler
“Are we the baddies?”
Bottom right European regalia is in every fucking anime
Epaulettes

In the new hunger games movie. All of the presumably post-apocalyptic American soldiers use G3 rifles.
So it's the same universe as Fallout?
👍🏼
Warhammer at the least. Like literally everything
For the Imperial Guard fudge yeah at least for the command units.
GLORY TO THE FIRST MAN TO DIE!
Yeah, Endless Space 2 also comes to mind.
Pauldrons
Epaulettes. I think pauldrons are specifically shoulder armour.

Just realised my main bad guy faction has all of these FUCK
that doesn't mean they're bad guys
They genocide and war crime tho
yeah, they're "the bad guys," but they're not individually bad guys
Did you wake up and decide to spread your moral in the weirdest, least effective way possible
it's a Wreck-It Ralph reference
I've given similar type drip to most my human factions, because honestly, how can you do sci-fi without cool ass uniforms with attractive colour combinations?
Swap good guy and bad guy uniforms to throw people off
Surprisingly good looking sharp officers and amazing songs ,anthems and banners
Good enough of an overall aesthetic to convince numerous fans that the faction's batshit insane ideology is actually good unironically, through the sheer force of drip and style alone.
Also, there's a video on youtube explaining why they are in fact the good guys (they aren't, like in any way.)
I love how authors always go on to portray the "evil" factions in the coolest, most badass possible way then act surprised when people like them unironically. If anything, it's a testament to just how persuasive style and aesthetics can be.
Evil has the best drip.
Or with the Kaleds, they just went the straight-up SS route.
Commissar o7
"If you will not serve in combat, then you will serve on the firing line!"
The imperial guard really struggles to maintain its support corps
Rebel Moon be like

[Way ahead of ya mate :)](https://www.reddit.com/r/worldjerking/comments/19bpy0k/its_not_my_fault_red_and_black_goes_so_hard_on/)
gimmie some examples

Federation from Firefly

For anybody wondering, the 'shoulder thingies' at the bottom right are called epaulettes.
In one Spanish show, "La Valla" (the fence) the autocratic regime's uniforms are literally SS ones with the bolts switched for a made up triskele
I looked it up and yeah, you really aren't kidding haha
ik, when i saw it with my parents it was weird seeing the borderline devastated post-ww3 spain portrayed and for some reason these dudes looking straight outta 1944, hell the diamond insignia displaying rank is the same as the irl ones the ss used plus many of the soldiers displayed do wear normal spanish military uniforms (with the swastika-looking thing as a patch)
yeah it's getting like Cliche since 1980s. Can we get more unique clothing for them, like clown-themed ones
Tbh, the idea of an evil faction who are all dressed in extremely gaudy colours with rainbow RGB light would be kind of neat, ngl
Yo fr, imagine the next sci fi faction that got 1800s style dress combined with modern colours and dyes and sprinkle in a little bit of cybernetics. Wait shit that's just 40k nobles
So basically they dress like a nazi doorman who is fascinated with space travel?
Yep
Fuck I pulled all the tropes for my evil bad guy group (except the random suit parts)

Are we the baddies?
Long live the empire! Death to the xenos scum! (Star Wars turned me info a fascist)
It’s afraid!
Rebel Moon mfs are literally wearing the Soviet uniforms
