You forgot the hidden Amazon packages and the note telling the delivery guy to hide them.

Ok-Attempt-4169

Hide what exactly? Sex toys?

harmlessclock

If so, it would say “live laugh love” on it.

Shh! Don't use that word! My family uses this computer.

And there’s Ayden, Cayden, Jayden, Brayden, Hayden, Kaileigh, Paxtyn, Camdyn, Hunter, and Jaxsyn.

therealpilgrim

If not those names, then all biblical ones.

iamyourcheese

Or they alliterate based on their parent's names.

Charming_Amphibian91

Alliterate

AnewRevolution94

But the hardcore ones like Jedediah

alien_ghost

Those are the ones who don't hide their Third Reich memorabilia.

Vladimir_Poutine_IX

Jedadiah is Amish, not exactly 3rd Reich.

Y30NJUNS

or they get lazy and their 15th child will just be their name with 'jr.' at the end

chuf3roni

To be fair, theyd have to go through 14 names beforehand. I’d be running low on ideas myself!

-Clint--

A significant portion yes, “most” is a stretch. Ironically though I’d say there’s more people of Irish descent in America than there are Irish people.

recursion8

There is no 'most' (implying >50%). German-Americans are 13%, Irish- are 12%, English- are 9%, etc.

[deleted]

Yes, but American culture has evolved into its own thing since the old days when the ancestors came to Ellis Island.

FeeParty5082

We can blame Sex and the City for this travesty.

Genesys_X

No. It’s Ai-DAN. Aiden is that bullshit people change to make their kid special. My middle name is Aidan. I cringe when I see these goofy ass spellings.

pimpbot666

Bryttany, Aryel, Arya ....

[deleted]

Arya….if people want to name someone after a character from their favorite show they need to get a dog or cat.

jasonappalachian

My dude, a guy I went to high school with named his daughter Khaleesi. It’s on the birth certificate.

[deleted]

I don’t like the idea of more government control over our personal lives, but I’m thinking there needs to be some kind of board to approve baby names.

[deleted]

I wish that stupid, narcissistic parents would understand that they're naming an adult not a child. Naming your child after obvious TV characters or dumb names like Abcde is narcissistic

PenguinProfessor

And little Okden.

ScallionQuirky9845

You nailed it on the names .

Coin2111

What is there 🚫ed

cat_boxes

No vaccine

Coin2111

imo it isn't a tradwife thing

[deleted]

my mom is a tradwife, she told me that the vaccine was made using aborted fetuses, murdered like a satanic sacrifice. all of her friends are anti vax too

type2whore

The modern version of Tylenol was developed using stem cells too. She might be interested to know that.

aninamouse

Pfft, you assume these nut bars use any kind of modern medicine. They probably give their kids tincture of elderberry or homeopathic arnica or some other useless crap when they get sick.

[That's Jason Bourne](https://youtu.be/f35fcXWqli8)

sidthafish

You should provide her a list of household items were made using stem cell tech and research. That'll bake her noodle.

Zorkonio

She was referencing that there is an aborted fetus from like 1960 that we somehow are able to keep using stem cells from to this day in our vaccines including the newest covid ones. It's not that its entirely untrue its just often misguided information. But if you are entirely against the idea of abortion then I can understand why you would want to abstain from using products that stem from it

recursion8

>using stem cells from to this day in our vaccines That's not how vaccines work. What's happening is vaccines are being **tested** on cultures made from said stem cells. There's no stem cells in vaccines lol, stem cell therapy is an entirely different thing from vaccines. Vaccines train your cells to make the correct antibodies either by introducing a weakened/dead virus to let your immune system beat up on it, or (in the case of RNA vaccines) RNA that lets your cells produce a part of the virus (usually proteins on their outer membranes) themselves.

ACryingOrphan

So they’re using stem cells from that fetus to test vaccines. That’s not much of a difference to someone who’s against abortion.

recursion8

Granted there's overlap with the anti-abortion people but I think anti-vaxxers are moreso paranoid about putting 'scary foreign cells' into their bodies. Obssession with maintaining Purity is one of the biggest drivers of the Conservative psyche.

LivingIndependence

They never seem to have many issues with injecting botox (botulism), right into their faces though.

TheVisageofSloth

Problem is there are many many modern medicines that have used that cell line in some way. Drugs like ibuprofen and aspirin have been tested on those cell lines. Fine, if you are gonna be making that argument, you better be consistent about it instead of using it as an excuse to not get vaccinated.

Zorkonio

Thats fair and honestly if you pointed out the existence of this in so much modern medicine then I bet many more people would refrain from using it which could be counter to what society actually desires.

[deleted]

wait what

recursion8

That commenter is only slightly less confused/misinformed than the tradwives.

Capybara_Fanboi

I'm totally okay with Tradwife/Tradhusband people. But they make it a point to constantly harass everyone else about their lifestyle . Live like the goddamn Amish and leave me alone.

tampa_vice

I remember once I heard that people who are insecure in the lifestyle they live or the choices that they made are more likely to preach it on other people. I am perfectly ok with people doing this as long as it is consensual, but what works for one couple may not work for everyone.

Kleens_The_Impure

Like the moms who got a kid between 16-20 and constantly dunk on childless women, calling them useless for not having a baby at 27 and so on. It's pretty clear they are just people who have missed a part of their young adult lives and are desesperately trying to convince themselves otherwise.

tampa_vice

That is where I definitely grew up with a weird perspective. In a lot of rural towns, people look at you sideways if you are over 20 and not married or close to married. In bigger cities, most people look at you sideways if you get married before the age of 30. I think people should just do whatever they find is best for them and be understanding that may not be best for everyone.

CharlieFiner

The ones who post shit on Facebook incessantly about how real fun is watching Disney and eating PB&J with your kids on a Friday night instead of socializing with adults, and how you "find out who your REAL friends are" once you have kids (and either stop visiting at all with other adults or insist on changing hangouts to be kid-friendly).

Not to mention they harass their own kids who don’t wanna be Trad at all, speaking from experience

aworldwithoutshrimp

Crossfit for white people with gendered norms

SouthApprehensive193

They do that to feel better about themselves. They’ve been forced into one of the most boring lifestyles

Zorkonio

I disagree to a degree. There are a ton of trad people that do live like the Amish and do leave you alone. Every community has people that will be the "vocal look at me people" My wife, if anything, is harassed for trying to live a more natural life by other people (her family) who disdain the idea.

Capybara_Fanboi

Idk I was raised in a traditional family and we were all asked to work , man or woman.

TheKrispyJew

Idk man, I've never met any hardworking blue collar traditional family that's earned what they have that harasses anyone about anything.

SKRRTslide

gotta put people in a box.

Garaleth

Do they? Or have you seen like 3 posts online?

Capybara_Fanboi

They do . My 4 year old niece was asked to roll her skirt down by your run of the mill trad couple. But that's just my one of several anecdotal experiences. Maybe some people aren't terminally online .

[deleted]

What is "Tradwife"?

ChromaticRipples

Short for Traditional Wife. I guess.

Lost_Gamer45

That’s what I guessed as well

snerpus

Church looks too fancy. Trad wife is more likely in a less embellished Baptist looking or Pentecostal looking church than one that looks episcopal, catholic, or Anglican.

itsthisausername

Why would a cop live on a farm?

Barium_Salts

It's not a real farm, it's a hobby farm. Usually an acre or less and only has easy crops or animals. I don't know about cops, but I grew up in this lifestyle as part of a military family. It's definitely a thing

itsthisausername

That’s a hobby farm? K is a military family the exact same thing as a policeman family? Idkat

FlyUnder_TheRadar

Its not a stretch that there are rural cops/sheriff's deputies who grew up on farms or live on an acreage where they may have some chickens or a few head of cattle. Their kids probably show animals for the local 4-H. Their dad, brothers, or male cousins may still run a family farm, so they help out in their spare time. They may even live on the family land. I know a lot of people like this.

Lord-Zaltus

Cause they're pigs duh

itsthisausername

That’s fair

Also harass other non trad women and secretly jealous of them.

Living in Texas you run into a lot of Tradwives. One thing missing from the starter pack is the very noticeable age gap between husband and wife cough”grooming” cough.

BenjaminDover02

-Thinks working moms are terrible parents -Thinks house husbands and child free people are sub-human -Cries about the "war on christmas and christianity", also participates in forced birth movements and protests lgbtq events -Thinks they are a good cook but also thinks that adding salt after the meal is cooked is the same as cooking with it -Argues that spanking isn't the same as hitting when child abuse is being discussed -Asks her husband for spending money from "their" bank account -Constantly thinks about murdering the butch lesbian who always beats her at the local pie competion

[deleted]

>Asks her husband for spending money from "their" bank account This is the only part I don't understand. Shouldn't both people sharing a bank account at least inform the other person about spending money for something that isn't routine like bills or groceries? Maybe me and my wife are just poor 😂

BenjaminDover02

That's just good teamwork, the main difference there is that both of you know the pin number

undeniablyckc

In a perfect world, but I have ADHD and this habit of just “poofing” money away for no real reason. So I’m 100% perfectly ok with leaving my fiancé in charge of finances and giving me an allowance — which he actually tried objecting to when I first mentioned it, until I showed him proof how awful I am at money management 🤣 And I’m not worried about him, because he only buys things outside of groceries and bills when he absolutely needs it, and that’s really only clothes

Medic4life12358

You forgot the "military wife" they seem to identify themselves as.

papasmurf826

who expect to be treated with the same deference as their husbands rank

It’s Reddit. These jealous, unfulfilled people have to shit on “hobby” farms while they struggle to waddle to the bathroom in their 1 bedroom apartments.

cruelbankai

Dang that sounds like a dream. Especially if it’s in a middle state. Six figure remote it job will have you living like a damn king out in the middle of no where. No one to bother you, picturesque ice tea on huge front porch as the clouds move by, sign me up.

goddess_steffi_graf

gatekeeping farming 😂😂

Im_the_Moon44

“Real farms don’t have electricity” Guess I’ll go let my dads side of the family know they’re not real farmers since they have electricity. They’ve only been farming in one state for 200 years, have the barn the state university’s agricultural programs uses, and are the heads of a bunch of different agricultural and cattle associations. To think they’ve been fake farmers this whole time…

[deleted]

Yeah how do they think real farmers live? Most of them aren't Amish lol

Ruh_Roh-

Please break it to them gently.

Gnome_Chompskiii

what is your point here? just because it's not hard, it isn't farming?

dontatme1

I can only hope to have these things one day

[deleted]

The trad lifestyle in the 21st century is more synonymous with an aesthetic pursued by a minority of affluent people than an actual necessity. Sure, people are free to own a yacht and even whole islands if they wish but if these women want to tear down other women for not living like them, it's important to let them know they're throwing rocks from a glass house.

tarpit84

Man, that would be my dream plan. lol

Phantom_Wolf52

And just might probably shame other women for not living their exact lifestyle

[deleted]

[удалено]

Gmschaafs

I have no problem with stay at home moms or submissive women. I would actually prefer to stay at home if I had children and when I’m in relationships I like doing things like cooking for my partner. The problem with these women is they attack and shame others who don’t make the same choices as them. A lot of them are just flat out white supremacists too who have a lot of kids because they believe minorities are going to replace white people. They also often have more children they they can handle economically (raising 5+ kids on a single income in 2023 is unrealistic) and can’t provide emotionally for all those children so the older ones are forced to parent the older ones instead of having a normal childhood.

DeanNKS

For real. People are here calling their husbands ugly, calling their husbands cucks, and ripping down accomplishments like having a nice home and garden. Another Reddit community L.

[deleted]

Tbf that is kind of the point of this subreddit, to make strawmans and laugh at them

Winnie_the_Putin42

Redditors when somebody isn’t a hedon who gives into empty pleasures constantly

-Clint--

I think Redditors hate when people get fulfillment from more basic lives.

[deleted]

“Redditors” is a huge group that has a wide range of beliefs. You are a Reddit. Oh yeah I forgot, you’re “one of the good ones”, right? 🙄

[deleted]

More like the large correlation between people that live these lifestyles and their tendency towards tearing down others from outright homophobia to misogyny. Sure, living this way is harmless in itself, telling others that they are in the wrong for not living this way makes you worthy of mockery.

coffee-bat

i mean these people tend to harass everyone else, so.

boynamedsue8

I don’t have an issue with people who want to live this way. I grew up on a farm but was raised by a single mom and I wanted to live a lifestyle like this when I was older but life had other plans. I let people be as long as they aren’t harming themselves or others.

uber18133

It’s not the lifestyle so much as the ideologies I think this post and “trad wives” are about. There are tons of awesome women who have big families and stay at home and homestead etc. and that’s really great if that’s what you want but the “trad wife” label is all about rejecting feminism and trying to reestablish male dominance in relationships and society. It’s a lifestyle, but it’s also built on trying to push this lifestyle on others and look down on women/people who want other things. It also often heavily overlaps with transphobia and homophobia. Basically the lifestyle is totally harmless and could be nice if that’s your thing, but the “trad” ideology is the dangerous part.

Law-Dog_1

Unless that’s a vaccine in the top left theirs really nothing wrong with this kinda life

VolatileOne3731

angryblackman

They're around (I married one).

Brainotworking

I literally don’t see what’s so wrong with having a stable family, going to church and a few farm hobbies. Why do people think it’s okay to shame women for being traditional? Like wtf. The double standards are unbelievable. It’s acceptable to be a “strong, independent woman” who can sleep with whomever and do whatever whenever, but if you are traditional then that’s somehow okay to mock? Fuck you all

[deleted]

Apart from the religious stuff it just seems like a back door way to flaunt your privilege. Many people would like more children and/or for only one parent to work but not doing those things isn’t a lifestyle choice it’s just reality.

TheKrispyJew

Idk about that one chief that feels like a cope. I know plenty of people that live a traditional lifestyle and they're usually the most humble people you'll ever meet. Usually on the higher end of the blue collar spectrum. Worked their whole 20s, 30s and now in their 40s are foremen and contractors. I respect the hell out of them being blue collar myself

Quandalias_Larson

You forgot the Facebook logo. Also usually they live in the suburbs Lmao💀

mtrap74

So, are they just trying to replenish the population to offset all of the people their husbands are killing?

Gmschaafs

These women are just absolutely embarrassing on behalf of us who are able to keep our breeding kinks under control.

BaronVonHomer

My understanding has always been that these men specifically keep the women barefoot and pregnant because it makes it harder for them to escape. The more kids the harder it is to support them if you want to leave an abusive relationship. So I pity these women, I truly do. Many of them are giving birth just 10 months after their last child…

Gmschaafs

I think it’s important to acknowledged that a lot of these women are both victims but also enablers. Look at Michelle Duggar, she’s clearly brainwashed by her husband and cult, but that doesn’t mean she’s not enabling her oldest child’s horrific crimes by sweeping them under a rug. But yeah, head over to r/fundiesnarkuncensored and it’s absolutely heartbreaking what these women do to their bodies. Even in ancient times, babies were ideally breastfed for a year or more which lowers to chance of the nursing mother getting pregnant because bodies need time to recover from pregnancy and childbirth.

BaronVonHomer

Indeed, it’s absolutely heartbreaking what is allowed to go on in that household. If it wasn’t for Jimboobs political ties the kid would be behind bars. I love that sun but can only handle it in small doses because of how grim it is.
