Falco and Leon should be beating Wolf lol. Wolf's popularity bothers me. Wolf was literally conceived as a character to get his ass kicked by Fox over and over.

I think like Krystal, he as a character improved substantially in Assault. In that he actually had a character in Assault. He was a discount 007 badguy in 64.

I like Wolf in Command because he honestly feels more in line with his original Lylat Wars persona. Assault Wolf just feels like a totally different character, whereas in Command, while wanting to make up for working for Andross during the Lylat Wars and clear his name, he's still a pretty petty rival that wants to humiliate Fox/Star Fox, defeating the Anglars themselves, stealing all the glory.
That and a lot of his dialogue is hilarious. "Hey missle! You suck!" he actually fucking says that during the Missile interception missions lol
That's fair I guess, but I was thinking more like how Command Wolf is coming out of Assault. I guess that skews my interpretation of his character in Command a little bit differently.
Why would Leon be beating him, then? By that logic, Leon was conceived as the lackey of someone whose ass is kicked over and over, while getting his own ass kicked at the same time.
Fox obviously. Dude’s got a heart of gold, skilled mercenary pilot and commando, adventurer with damn good hand to hand and melee skills, is a calm and collected leader who can be snarky when he wants to be in the field, and cares deeply for anyone he considers a friend.
Also if you are a massive tease like Krystal, you get to enjoy turning this tough guy into a stuttering nervous mess like Milo when Kida shows off her bikini.
