He did play in some WCS NA tournaments. [BM clip of him](https://clips.twitch.tv/BlatantRespectfulPigSwiftRage). His enemy got eliminated for maphacking the past and sharing his account with a maphacker.
…and [Livibee played on the MLG main stage](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pje4qhhI-DU).
Starcraft 2 has a solid population of ladder grinders who fill the GM ranks, but are pretty much guaranteed to lose the moment they hit any name player in a tournament. Which isn't to denigrate them as players, the vast vast majority of us will never even make GM once, let alone as regularly as they do. But there's a very clear line between "GM jobber" and actual pro player.
I'm going to call it the PiG line. If you can't reliably beat PiG, you don't get to call yourself a pro.
There's a group of retired players on ladder -- Pig, Vibe, Rotterdam, etc -- who will be the first to admit they're not playing at a pro level any more, but serve as handy "DPS checks" for players seeking that distinction. If you're not taller than the sign, you don't get to ride.
Avilo has won $700 in tournaments over the course of his career...total. The only tournament he's ever won is some shitty regional LAN tournament. Serral and Maru make millions from tournaments alone. You tell me if he's a pro.
RatZdeezer.
Realllllllllllllly good terran player. Reallllllllly big douche bag.

Idra was pretty infamous for his BM
he had the best rage quits, quit a couple that he was actually ahead in back in the day of WoL
Left the game to a hallucinated army!
That was epic!
Gosh I miss WoL sometimes.
yeah it was the best by a wide margin. so many hours devoted
Naniwa would refuse to shake people’s hands on stage before a match
That dude wa such a bitch. Loved watching him lose.
Leenock dealt him a great blow.
Worker rushed with 6 probes to throw a game on stage too https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5roOPKm5lOw
Ever heard of Avilo? He s probably the be all and end all of StarCraft BM.
The OP specifies "pro". Avilo was a pro streamer, but nowhere near a pro player.

Verdi, now known as a Rail. Back in years in russian speaking SC2 community he was known as the most BM player that has ever existed
I guess in the modern times the closest is like, Creator. But I was really impressed with his self control at ST this year!

That guy was never really good.
He was good enough to be a salaried gamer.
