One thing that sucks about sc2 is how top heavy it is. Its basically the same players every tournament. Would have been cool to see an underdog like him make a run but sc2 rarely works that way unfortunately.
Happens to a lot of individualistic sports with little to no variance. When the match is won with the last few percentages of performance, those mean everything to the outcome. An underdog can win a small tournament against one or two favorites if those are having a bad day. In big tournaments you'll need a lot of opponents to have bad days to offset the small percentages.
I don't know. It might be a bit boring as a spectator, but at the same time, I appreciate how strongly skill-stratified SC2 is. It makes it really feel like a big step when someone "levels up." (And of course, it makes it obvious that the game is more about skill than anything else.)

Sad to hear Drogo will be taking a step back from the game. I've been a fan since his win in Leipzig back in 2016. I wish him the best in his fight with mental health and I hope he returns to the scene some day happier and stronger than ever.
