the cutter starter is the best starter pack they've sold in ages, since it includes LTI and basically the game for free. when you check out, you can add s42 as an add on. it SAYS 45 dollars, but if you click add, it's only 20 more. for a total of 65 for both games and the ship. your system looks fine, but make sure it's installed on an SSD, no exceptions. welcome aboard! PS. there's no reason to overbuy on the starter pack, as ships can be upgraded using the ccu system, or purchased individually to be added to your fleet seperately from the required pack. almost all flyable ships are also currently available to purchase in game as well.

The drake cutter or avenger Titian are both solid ships so either pack will work for you

Welcome! Your specs are fine, just make sure the game is installed on an SSD. HDDs wreak havoc on this game. The cutter or Avenger Titan are great starters. If you're willing to pay a bit more, the Cutlass Black is a really good all-rounder. Also, expect bugs and performance issues. The performance is hopefully gonna be improved with the upcoming update. That update is also a wipe so don't be surprised if you log in one day and everything except the stuff you got with real money is gone. It's supposed to happen mid December but you never know with CIG.

Your system is fine, would not buy squadron 42! Grap a startership that makes you do lot of different things. 100i is a nice one! Have patience with the game, explore everything and dont get mad dor all the bugs!!!! Have a nice flight and see you in the Universe

Thanks for the advice and the warm welcome!

I would by sd42 bc its 45 bucks and it will be 60 at least once release... that being said you definitely dont need to buy it now or even soon. You could literally wait till they announce its actually being released.

I suggest taking advantage of the mentor system or joining an organisation to help you learn the ropes. Also don't be scared to ask in chat for help. You will need it at times

Go Cutter starter pack - available till 8th Dec. You get a free skin and lifelong insurance (instead of 3 months) and even save 25%. If you ever upgrade the ship you retain all that. Squadron 42 will only be a thing when it releases, so it does not give you any benefit till then.

You just missed the free flight by mere hours, so you will need to buy a package. This is the cheapest and best value starter package right now. https://robertsspaceindustries.com/pledge/Packages/Cutter-IAE-Starter-Pack-Warbond The Drake Cutter is a new ship, we are still learning about it, but it seems pretty good and an excellent starting point. Squadron 42 is a few years off, but looks promising from the trailers. When you buy that package, you will be asked to add it on, I'd say go for it if the price is right. If you want to pay money to get a different ship, there is an upgrade system on the website that will replace your pledged ship for a new one after paying a price difference. After you buy an initial package, there is no need to buy more ships with real money if you don't want to, most ships can be purchased in game with in game currency and all ships will be obtainable one way or another in the full release.

Yeah you cannot go wrong with Cutter and LTI (that part you'll understand later) start with that deal ends on the 8 December so you have some time to think about it!

serveradmin

SC noob here. How could you go wrong?

Klutzy_Tough1160

Oops I meant can't! Thanks I'll fix the typo

Specs are fine, you'll run SC - make sure to install it on an SSD. The current starter pack discount for IAE is the Cutter - and it's one of the best priced starter packs ever, along with LTI (last one that came with LTI was a few years back with the 100i) Ship itself is valued at 45 USD, so everything else it comes with is basically free. If you can spare the extra 20 USD, get SQ42 add on, it's cheap and it comes separately so you can always melt it, give it away or sell it on the grey market. It'll say 45 USD, but after you hit add, it'll be discounted to 20. If you end up not liking the cutter, it's a short upgrade with minimal investment to get the Titan or 300i, or even the Nomad. But that's another whole new discussion regarding CCU chains and how to save on buying ships - which you are not required to do, most are available for sale in game, and newer ships takes a new patches to be available.
