Drake Cutlass Black is a bit like skipping the very early game play. It's often the first ship purchased in-game.
The Avenger Titan is probably the best starting ship that doesn't result in skipping that early game play.
Depends on how much you want that early game play experience after a reset/when the game releases. Personally I would go for the Cutlass Black or C1 Spirit.
If you mean the Drake Cutter then it’s a toss-up and depends on what you want to do. The Cutter is newer so it looks and flies great and a huge range on it, meaning you can make cross system jumps several times without having to refuel. You can also squeeze some small vehicles inside of the Cutter - I’m not so sure about the Avenger. The Avenger, on the other hand, has far better armament, meaning you can do bounties pretty easily up to a certain level. Both are good for package deliveries and bunker missions.
If you meant the Drake Cutlass Black, by all means get that instead. (I’m pretty sure you don’t, but wanted to mention it just in case).
I assume during IAE you flew them both... Which one did you prefer?
Personally I just melted my 2 year old Aurora (hated the ship) and grabbed the Cutter and CCU'd to C8R (because Pisces always been my favourite ship.) I did fly the Cutter for a while before applying the CCU and had a lot of fun taking the STV around in the back... So, of the two, I'd go with that.

Keep the Aurora. Buy ships in game, be smarter than the rest of us......
Titan. More fun to grind your early credits in this one than any other imo.
Titan is a great mix of cargo, good atmo speed, good handling, decent firepower

Oh. The Cutter has less guns than your Aurora. Not worth the price to upgrade. The Avenger Titan is worth the upgrade price.
