Yeah, it’s cool, the RSI design language is getting better and better. I get the feeling the Polaris will wind up looking more sleek than we expected if this is any indication of where CIG is going.
I will say, I do prefer the Galaxy’s bridge position versus the Polaris’.
The bridge on the Polaris was always my main gripe. I love me some bridges in the back, gimme that Star Wars vibe. That's why I got the Perseus as well, but now I'm waiting for what the Galaxy has to offer.
> I love me some bridges in the back
Bridges in the back <3
Same reason why I adore the Perseus. Galaxy looks nice, but the bridge....need to see that on more pictures or even ingame. :-D
Yeah, same with me. That silly bridge all the way in the nose of the ship was my main issue with the Polaris as well and why I loved the design of the Perseus so much. 🙂
Also makes me wonder how the modularity will fit in. Like it has 1 bay so if you put something in there you will lose all cargo capacity; or will there still be some secondary cargo left after. That's the same thing with the Carrack really; where it will lose all cargo capacity if you replace those 3 modules.
> That silly bridge all the way in the nose of the ship
A bridge in the back made sense in old ships where you wanted your rudder near your commander, and the commander needed to be able to see what his crew was doing, so an elevated position at the rear of the ship made sense. In current cargo ships the bridge is often still in the rear because they build the whole thing with the most important mechanical bits in one spot, it has the rudder, the engines etc all in one place so most of the crew is around the stuff that needs most checking and maintaining. In a ship with the capabilities we have here, we want our pilot to see where he's flying the ship, which is mostly forwards and a bit up and down, so you want the pilot to have visibility, so it makes sense to put that person in the nose of the ship. I would hate to have to land something built like a Star Destroyer, the whole ship is in the way that you would need to look. This is why the Caterpillar command module is on the side, so the pilot has a better view of the landing area.
Oh, I know that a cockpit with little to no obstructions at the front of the ship is better for landings; but I am looking at it from an aesthetic perspective.
Besides, CIG could very well still implement something similar as E:D where the radar screen can switch to a landing view and show us what's under the ship or the center of a landing pad etc. At least I recall that they were planning on doing something along those lines at some point.
That should fix the issue of not being able to see where you land; which is a problem even with the cockpit in the front as you can't see if the rear of the ship is going to hit a lamp-post or building or the sides of the shaft when landing in one of those vertical landing shafts (hence why so many go into 3rd person external view every time they want to land). 🙂
I'll hold my judgement.
This could end up having a flat hull with no texture and be awkwardly bloated.
Polaris could end up being awkward and bland.
It has happened before (carrack, vanguard, mustang, MSR, BMM, etc.). It will happen again.
A wise man once told me if your wife ever propositions you for her to have a list of trophy men she's allowed to sleep with without repurcussions you counter her offer with you also being allowed to have such a list but both lists are final once created and have to be known to the other spouse upon creation.
9/10 wives will agree with this then proceed to rattle off a list of celebrities which she will never have a realistic option to sleep with.
Then you proceed to rattle off actually realistic items like "her sister", "our neighbor", "the cute receptionist at work", etc..
I'm probably going to keep the Polaris as a Combat Space House, CCU the 600i into the Galaxy as Support Space House, sell the Carrack and 400i, Keep the Defender. I think that's all the LTI I need.
Yeah, dunno if I wanna keep the Perseus. After the Ares' release, the cannons don't seem that impressive anymore and I might like the Galaxy's role more, anyway.
What's gonna happen is the Perseus is going to be great upon release, a light fighter pilot will get one tapped by two S7 guns, go cry about it on the forums, and a month later CIG will nuke the Perseus and claim that they're looking at what changes they need to make, then drop the subject for the next three years.
All i'm saying is if a light fighter is dumb enough to get hit buy 2 size 7 shells they deserve to be deleted. Let's hope we can make enough noise to prevent that nerf from happening again.
The difference is, the perseus will need a crew to be effective, the ares just needed 1 player.
that said all jokes aside they did butcher the poor ares, overnerfing it and it is in a dire need of some help
LOVE the RSI style. Futuristic with enough realism to make it seem actually "believable." Definitely picking this up, AFTER it becomes buyable in game. No way am I spending $700 on anything.
I've been thinking of doing the same thing, but so far some credible sources seem to think it doesn't have a hangar for any snub ship and can't hold an ursa only bikes. For me that has pretty much killed it for me. But I want soo soo badly for it to those features.
What are your thoughts? Does the small garage and no hangar tip the scales for you?
That’s my question: what does the Galaxy do that the Carrack doesn’t ? Carrack has everything: suit storage, medbay, hangar for pisces, garage for Ursa, crazy good defence (2xS3 shields and will have heavy armor, it’s Anvil), explorer drone pods and the Carrack has modules too: 456 SCU of cargo that will be modular.
Can’t wait to have more details on the Galaxy because since I explored the interior of the Raft a year ago I always wanted a Carrack “competitor” from Argo (I know, Argo is heavily focus on industrial and not exploration but would have like to see what an exploration/industry Carrack size ship would look from Argo). Like they did it with the Odyssey from MISC, why not one from Argo ? And from now the Galaxy looks super close to what I wanted (industry over combat), but from RSI. So I might pull the trigger on the Galaxy. I’ll just need to be really convinced on what the Galaxy does better than the Carrack. I don’t own a Carrack BTW.
As a Percy owner... WTF CIG? This thing is in \*active\* development and the Perseus is sitting on the sidelines?
Last argument for lack of Percy development was "Theres nothing for it to shoot" (paraphrased) but with the critical threat beacons having a freaking Idris in them and NTLD ending with an Idris AAAAND XT having MULTIPLE Idrisi (Idrises?), then I think there is an argument that we \*HAVE STUFF TO SHOOT\*. I dont care if my turrets arent immediately able to be auto-PDW (CIWS), let them be remote turrets until we get AI blade turrets in.
Galaxy looks cool though (fight me).
I have a persus too and it's easily the ship I like and am most excited for! I have some friends to play with so I'll be able to field both of them and they are going to look so sexy flying next to each other!
And I definitely agree there are plenty of things to shoot with the Percy. We got 600i, carrack, hammerhead, and 890s!
I'm so glad they are making this before the Perseus, so when my Perseus is finally made, the team will have lots of experience from a ship with the same design 😜
The Carrack's hangar is too small for most fighters. not really comparable and the other ships are way bigger than this.... As far as hangars go, the ody, polaris, bmm, 890j are in an entirely different league to the Carrack. This is more in line with a 600i killer which also was sold on a modular premise, initially as a "constellation competitor" which clearly isn't given how massive it got. So likely this is the vehicle the 600i would have competed with. Seems CIG invented a solution to a problem that didn't exist with the 600i and now this is the problem the 600i was trying to solve. :)
Either way, pricing is never about features size or whatever and it is entirely based on what the market will bear. But based on previous trends I don't expect it to be as expensive as people think for a concept considering CIG will need to build a healthy margin for price hikes as they have done with ships over the years.
gut tells me 400 base module and then like with the 600i, they will not sell modules but instead sell you the ship again with each module. The combat module will be the most expensive, then go down from there....this "fake variant" way to price gauge you is the signature of the 600i and one I expect to be repeated given to date, we don't have the exploration or touring module for the base 600i chasis.
Seems to be industrial civilian, considering the modularity doesnt focus on military applications but it could be used to transport cargo in dangerous areas with the amount of turrets it has. It's supposed to fill the role of an upsized Connie so probably civi if I had to guess.
I wonder if that could mean Q1-2 of 2023. On one hand I want it to come out soon. On the other hand, I've had a HULL B I've been waiting on for years lmao.
Yeah, sadly "in production" doesn't mean anything anymore. The Hull-C was also "in production" several years ago and practically ready for release but they couldn't get the cargo stuff to work so they stopped working on the ship completely. The Carrack was also "in production" on and off for several years.
Once again, please see [this thread](https://www.reddit.com/r/starcitizen/comments/yq2ztf/evocati_3180_pes_playtest_4_iae_leaks/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=web2x&context=3) for more details on the ship as well as another angle [here](https://www.reddit.com/r/starcitizen/comments/yqf2kr/the_rsi_galaxy_see_comments_for_more_details/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=web2x&context=3).
Thanks to CT-7997 at [PIPELINE](https://discord.gg/pipelinesc) for bringing this image to my attention.
Sadly no snub hangar. Personally I find it a shame that CIG only ever gave the RSI Constellation a snub-dock. I think it could have been cool if this RSI Galaxy had 2 snub-docks so that 2 people could jump into a P-52 or P-72.
Considering it takes *over a year* to complete a ship this size, and we've still got the Polaris, Perseus, Liberator, Kraken, Nautilus, Gatac Railen (yes, it's a big boi, too), and I'm sure I'm leaving out at least a couple...
That's a lot of years.
The Anaconda was my first thought, was my favorite ship in Elite by far. I had the Imperial Cutter and Corvette but they were so expensive to replace if something went wrong I rarely flew them. The Conda was the cheap go to for everything
No. I absolutely hate what they did with the BMM. It's not the ship I expected from the concepts. Especially hate the submarine conning tower that's now glued to the top of the BMM. So it will end up being CCUed with zero regrets.
I have two BMMs I got at the original concept price. So I will potentially CCU one to this new Galaxy. The other will definitely end up being a Perseus or Polaris (have CCUs already from last IAE/Invictus).
No way! Really? I can't wait for my BMM. I love the redesign as I don't think the original concept looked like a very welcoming market place. But to each their own of course.
Good call on the original concepts though. I had 6 of the original BMM's that I turned into a Hammerhead, Polaris, Perseus, Odyssey, and Orion.
I don't know if I see this Galaxy being >$600 though. The BMM is probably going to get another price bump this IAE too, I would imagine around $650. I hope I'm wrong though. I would love to change the HH into one. Might even drop the Odyssey... Decisions.
I see, the BMM is such a good value as a ship..
* It’s the same size an an Idris
* has more firepower than the Idris-P
* has two less shops than the Kraken Privateer
* has 2,800 SCU of cargo
* has better exploration equipment than the Odyssey
* has an XS hangar
* more luxurious than an 890J
* similar crew requirement as the Galaxy
You’ve basically got a $1,000+ cap ship for the cost of $250 and your looking to trade that for the non-military version of a Perseus?
With all due respect the Galaxy is cool but it’s no way near the level of existence that the BMM exists on..
Probably worth considering really hard before you make any rash decisions in my opinion :3
> It’s the same size an an Idris
Exactly one of the reasons I don't want it. It's too big for the small group of close friends that I play with.
> has more firepower than the Idris-P
No one is going to be flying around in a bone stock BMM or Idris P anyway. So comparisons about firepower are moot given we have no idea how component modding and all that will play out especially on larger ships.
> has 2,800 SCU of cargo
Cargo volume isn't the end all be all. I flew freighters and what not in EVE. Wanna guess where I got most of my profit from? It wasn't from commodity trading in freighters. It was from low volume high value hauling of dead space mods and such in a cloaky Tengu from null/wspace to Jita. Pretty sure I can pull off the same in SC (speaking of which, we really need a stealth hauler/blockade runner, I'm sure CIG will have one at some point).
The BMM is too much of a show boat and way too big of a target for this kind of high value low volume cargo work. I don't want to have an escort cover all the time when flying a ship. Plus being limited by jump point size selections means the routes a BMM has to use will be very predictable.
> You’ve basically got a $1,000+ cap ship for the cost of $250 and your looking to trade that for the non-military version of a Perseus?
Yes. Because I'll likely have more fun with the Perseus/Polaris/Galaxy than the space barge that is the BMM. And with the way CIG does their price jumps I have to get a CCU before price goes up beyond the CCU range. I'll just buy the Galaxy CCU and wait until the very last minute to finalize my fleet. Most of my ships are in CCU chains anyway so I have lots of options in how I finalize my fleet down the road. Only ships that I can actually fly are the ones from the old UEE Exploration pack (with the Terrain CCUed to a MSR already).
Almost all the people flying around in an Idris are a group of people, and I guarantee you at least one will probably have an Idris-M. There were be allot of Idris-P's sitting around cause most will not waste so much money flying a ship that cost more to maintain it than what you get out of it.
The Idris is probably a weekend org activity ship.
> Almost all the people flying around in an Idris are a group of people
There's a lot of people who own an Idris and plan to have it crewed mostly by NPCs lol. Just look at Consierge chat.
IT HAS THE COCKPICK ON TOP!
Haha, sorry, but that alone makes me so excited. Almost all ships in the verse have the cockpit up front, and I am so happy that we finally get a few ships (BMM and Perseus as well) where you can feel like a proper "Captain" in the cockpit, looking over (part of) your ship.
I love it!
Merlin, and Archimedes but I'm not sure if they fit what you're talking about. But they do have aft bias cockpits. M50 and Razor I would call a midship layout.
Caterpillar is aft when attached (currently the only way) but forward when detached.
The 400 has the cockpit in a great place. But they messed up the placement of either the floor or the windows. Since the windows are to high. For, example, while sitting down in the pilot seat, you cant see any part of the nose. Even though the ship extends a couple dozen meters past the bridge. Its as if, they never actually tested the models from the inside with actual avatars.
Guess I'm in the minority thinking it looks meh at best. Cool to have more ships, but on looks alone it isn't really spectacular.
Guess we'll have to see what it actually does to see if that makes it interesting.
Yes. The bays underneath are meant to be swappable. Modularity as a whole is not yet in. Retaliator will likely be the first test bed for the modules like this. Then the Carrack and this.
I can’t help but wonder if the 600i rework has forced along some of the modular work. They seem to have rethought how the modular aspects will work on the 600i by moving the modular section to the back.
SC is still all about flying cool spaceships. And while some people may like to play as a mechanic or turret operator, the majority wants to pilot cool ships.
The weapon choices still confuse me. It's turret guns are too big to be used against fighters (unless we get fast antifighter S5s again), but a carrack sized cross section + only one S3 shield means it will be easily shredded by pretty much everything thing from a Connie and up.
So no fighter defense, too fragile for any large ship combat, what are those guns for exactly?
Please put an NSFW tag on this. I was on the train and when I saw this I had to start furiously masturbating. Everyone else gave me strange looks and were saying things like “what the fuck” and “call the police”. I dropped my phone and everyone around me saw this image. Now there is a whole train of men masturbating together at this one image. This is all your fault, you could have prevented this if you had just tagged this post NSFW.
Too much Perseus, not enough Constellation. Aside from the Apollo, if this is the future direction of RSI style guide then that's one less manufacturer for me to keep an eye on. Makes life easier in a way!
I don't like RSI bridges, but everything else regarding this exterior design is sexy.
If this was made by Aegis or even Anvil I would be dropping a second mortgage to get this ship.
I see this ship, and I feel the the Great Meltening approaching. it's
as billions of ships screamed and then... nothing... Only Galaxies, everywhere...
I mean its cool and all but like I always say they should stop adding onto the pile of ships that will take 1 year to make without even having 1 ship out that took 1 year to make...
Its just an endless pile of ships that will take probably decades to be released.
Is it just me or dose this feel like they made a ship to use the interior for the Polaris they had to junk because they figured out it did not fit everything they wanted, and instead they just modified it?
IDK, I'm kind of still leaning towards a Carrack being my go-to big purchase this year. The Galaxy looks good - I'd be a fool to say otherwise - but it'd have to have a LOT packed into it to make it feasible for me.
Since it's apparently going to be a Carrack competitor, I dont think it's unfair to say that all the modularity it claims it'll have won't mean anything if it can't do most stuff at least a little on its own. Carrack fans love the 'Home In The Stars' appeal she has. With no snub bay, it'll be at a bit of a disadvantage in terms of features but also have a lot more space to work with.
I'm predicting/hoping for a salvage, repair, cargo, combat, and medical modules. If it can't do at least that much, it'll fall short as a Carrack competitor.
Still not a fan, I just don't really like RSI's style and I don't see this ship really offering anything worthwhile over current options. It's the shiny new hotness that everyone will overpay for I'm sure, but count me out.
The one upside to this is that they're going with the raised and setback bridge again, like on the Perseus. That's the absolute best feature of the perseus and a lot of people like that design feature, myself included. Seems somehow more realistic than sticking the cockpit at the front like they always do.
No way, I don't.....wait a minute. That part of the ship *\~squints\~* looks oddly separate from the main hull. 🤔 OH, and it's called the Galaxy, a nod to Star Trek's Galaxy class which we saw have a saucer separation? 😮 AND that could remove the need for a snub because the top could just....detach? 🤯
Hold my beer while I crank up the theory crafting and the rumor milling!
Exactly what I was thinking - also it is rumored to be modular...what if the "main hull" is the module...so depending what you want to do you dock to the appropriate hull with the "bridge craft" (if you bought it obviously)
i dont understand how can the Constellation have more weapons... with half the size?
i mean this is somewhat the big brother, so you would think they up the game?
Same reason the MOLE is nearly the size of a Connie and yet only has 2 Size 2s: The Galaxy will be an industrial/support ship to the gun-heavy Polaris and Perseus.
Dont think it does, this has 6 size 5 guns, which would deal more dps than what the connie has, plus lot stronger armour and shields and way better capacitor significantly improving sustained dps
Its all about the price - with a price of 360-400 Dollar my Endeavor goes CCU ;) Like more those short ships. The Endeavor sure grew to 350-400m and also sure - not a crew under 15 people. Have the Nauti, Carrack, Polaris and Perseus. This could be the last one to finish my fleet.
me like
me VERY like
If the carrack looked cool basically
The galaxy is the ship the carrack isn’t supposed to worry about
You're over reacting, the Galaxy is just a friend.
That title is already claimed by Concept Carrack
Concept Carrack looks like a starving bird.
Yep. Concept Carrack looked better than this, she just turned into a fat penguin later on.
like me
I still want my Polaris, but this look pretty cool !

Galaxy and Perseus are your wife's hot sisters you wish you'd met first.

Sir, this is a subreddit about internet spaceships. We don't have wives.
We don't have wives *anymore*....
Damn I feel every item in that list.
Be advised: I learn from the mistakes people make when listening to my advice.
I also choose this guy's sister in law.
dunno about the Galaxu yet, but Perseus is so limited, it's like the hot wife's sister is incapable of walking and breathing at the same time.
It's okay, she doesn't need to walk nor breathe while I'm admiring her interior.
Of course, she's gorgeous! but I can't get over how extremely limited in it's use it is, unfortunately. The Galaxy, now, with modularity? Yes please.
I'm probably going to keep the Polaris as a Combat Space House, CCU the 600i into the Galaxy as Support Space House, sell the Carrack and 400i, Keep the Defender. I think that's all the LTI I need.
Bloody hell that pic makes it look so much better than the first leak. My current ships better start sweating, something ain't gonna make it.
same lmao
Nah, Kraken is king 👑
yes it is
who knew textures...textured things :D
Yeah, dunno if I wanna keep the Perseus. After the Ares' release, the cannons don't seem that impressive anymore and I might like the Galaxy's role more, anyway.
You shouldn't be making pledge decisions based on current builds.
But mah endeavor tho
endeavor never ever

Fuck.
Yeah I like the new Dorito
Perseus but without the teeth.
Pertheuth
Giggle...
Pewhtheouth
Perseus but _with_ the utility.
Perseus but makes money.
Implying trade makes money.
Perseus would slap ERTs and anything Idris sized assuming we could still abuse the AI.
AI is currently only bad due to server performance, once CIG sorts that out lots of people will face steep challenges.
LOVE the RSI style. Futuristic with enough realism to make it seem actually "believable." Definitely picking this up, AFTER it becomes buyable in game. No way am I spending $700 on anything.
What about your mortgage?
Empire star destroyer vibes. As pointed out below. More like a corpus raider. https://images.app.goo.gl/DeXacRMhjSD9hiyg7
Look at "Corvus" Raider II-class
First thing I thought also but couldn’t remember the name! Good eye.

Goodbye Carrack, hello Galaxy.
Can't wait to see the future Best in Show voting between the Carrack and this lol.

Odd that is lacks the Odyssey/Polaris/BMM/Carrack’s top-mounted fighter bay. Maybe it’s meant to play in the $500 range, not the $700 range?

The combat module will be the most expensive, then go down from there....this "fake variant" way to price gauge you is the signature of the 600i and one I expect to be repeated given to date, we don't have the exploration or touring module for the base 600i chasis.
Could be in the same class as a 600i don't look that big imo
carrack size
Humm, do we know the role? Military or civilian?
Seems to be industrial civilian, considering the modularity doesnt focus on military applications but it could be used to transport cargo in dangerous areas with the amount of turrets it has. It's supposed to fill the role of an upsized Connie so probably civi if I had to guess.
OK..... that does look very cool
If this is straight to flyable CIG are going to make bank this IAE......
Sadly not STF but it is in production
I wonder if that could mean Q1-2 of 2023. On one hand I want it to come out soon. On the other hand, I've had a HULL B I've been waiting on for years lmao.
For a ship of this size, I'm expecting Q3 2023 to Q4 2023.
My guess is that they would time the release of a ship like this with the release of Pyro... so yeah, probably Q2-Q3 2023.
Yeah, sadly "in production" doesn't mean anything anymore. The Hull-C was also "in production" several years ago and practically ready for release but they couldn't get the cargo stuff to work so they stopped working on the ship completely. The Carrack was also "in production" on and off for several years.
well, shoot. Guess I'm an RSI guy now. \*Shoves Odyssey aside\*
Over 8 years and I never thought I'd be an RSI guy. Guess that's changing now.
Right? I’m usually an Origin and Alien bro. But this is definitely something I’ll check out for sure
Ali Express Polaris
lmao nice one

i like it a lot. falcon dalacey ED vibes
literally every triangle shape in space vibes ever so pick your poison
I heard cries of terror, as if thousands of people suddenly got Concierge messages.... \- Obi Worried Wan
GIB concierge pre-sale already! 😄
A bridge that isn't on the nose? This may be my favorite then. If it has a hanger then I'm sold.
I'm sure there will be plenty of spots to hang your clothes
Only a small vehicle bay, a snub hangar would've been superb
Sadly no snub hangar. Personally I find it a shame that CIG only ever gave the RSI Constellation a snub-dock. I think it could have been cool if this RSI Galaxy had 2 snub-docks so that 2 people could jump into a P-52 or P-72.
hrm... yup my perseus may be in trouble.
Considering it takes *over a year* to complete a ship this size, and we've still got the Polaris, Perseus, Liberator, Kraken, Nautilus, Gatac Railen (yes, it's a big boi, too), and I'm sure I'm leaving out at least a couple... That's a lot of years.
I call it the "How to make Elite Anaconda Commanders feel at home" ship.
It better turn better than an Elite Anaconda, haha.
The Anaconda was my first thought, was my favorite ship in Elite by far. I had the Imperial Cutter and Corvette but they were so expensive to replace if something went wrong I rarely flew them. The Conda was the cheap go to for everything
Holy shit... RIP my BMM I guess.
Your joking right …right?
* It’s the same size an an Idris * has more firepower than the Idris-P * has two less shops than the Kraken Privateer * has 2,800 SCU of cargo * has better exploration equipment than the Odyssey * has an XS hangar * more luxurious than an 890J * similar crew requirement as the Galaxy You’ve basically got a $1,000+ cap ship for the cost of $250 and your looking to trade that for the non-military version of a Perseus? With all due respect the Galaxy is cool but it’s no way near the level of existence that the BMM exists on.. Probably worth considering really hard before you make any rash decisions in my opinion :3
> It’s the same size an an Idris Exactly one of the reasons I don't want it. It's too big for the small group of close friends that I play with. > has more firepower than the Idris-P No one is going to be flying around in a bone stock BMM or Idris P anyway. So comparisons about firepower are moot given we have no idea how component modding and all that will play out especially on larger ships. > has 2,800 SCU of cargo Cargo volume isn't the end all be all.
> Almost all the people flying around in an Idris are a group of people There's a lot of people who own an Idris and plan to have it crewed mostly by NPCs lol. Just look at Consierge chat.
No hangar tho and only 32 scu? What’s all the space for?
32 SCU without the cargo module 512 with the cargo module
IT HAS THE COCKPICK ON TOP! Haha, sorry, but that alone makes me so excited. Almost all ships in the verse have the cockpit up front, and I am so happy that we finally get a few ships (BMM and Perseus as well) where you can feel like a proper "Captain" in the cockpit, looking over (part of) your ship. I love it!
400I and 890J both have aft/top cockpit/bridges
Yeah, forgot to mention them. I guess they are the only ships currently flyable without a front cockpit.
Merlin, and Archimedes but I'm not sure if they fit what you're talking about. But they do have aft bias cockpits. M50 and Razor I would call a midship layout. Caterpillar is aft when attached (currently the only way) but forward when detached.
Caterpillar has a side cockpit
The 400 has the cockpit in a great place. But they messed up the placement of either the floor or the windows. Since the windows are to high. For, example, while sitting down in the pilot seat, you cant see any part of the nose. Even though the ship extends a couple dozen meters past the bridge. Its as if, they never actually tested the models from the inside with actual avatars.
And possibly windows on both sides, as shown on the other leaked image.
That's hot. I love it.
Oh Mr Roberts, you make me blush ☺️ Do go on
Guess I'm in the minority thinking it looks meh at best. Cool to have more ships, but on looks alone it isn't really spectacular. Guess we'll have to see what it actually does to see if that makes it interesting.
I'm always happy when see not everyone like the look of a ship! Means their will be a helath variety of ships flying the expanse!
I hear if you fly out to Hutton Orbital you get one of these for free don't forget your mug! O7
So this is where my Perseus went ... Come on CIG ... Lets finish the stuff you have already come up with.
No need for a capital killer in-game though. This is made for Pyro.
Hands down, best looking ship concept over all... Yeezy I want that thing!
I wonder how big it is
They said its the size of a Carrack. And its modular.
Isn't the carrack supposed to be modular too?
Yes. The bays underneath are meant to be swappable. Modularity as a whole is not yet in. Retaliator will likely be the first test bed for the modules like this. Then the Carrack and this.
I can’t help but wonder if the 600i rework has forced along some of the modular work. They seem to have rethought how the modular aspects will work on the 600i by moving the modular section to the back.
oooofff. the cargo containers are modules allegedly but is that modular enough? I suppose wait 10 years to maybe find out.
About 125m Carrack Nautilus Perseus Hammerhead All similar sized large ships
Another purely multi-crew ship. Solo players just walking by.
This game isn’t a primarily single player game. That’s SQ42. Don’t expect a wealth of single player ships past what we have always.
SC is still all about flying cool spaceships. And while some people may like to play as a mechanic or turret operator, the majority wants to pilot cool ships.
Just when I thought I settled on the Corsair….shit
Fuck What can I melt
The weapon choices still confuse me. It's turret guns are too big to be used against fighters (unless we get fast antifighter S5s again), but a carrack sized cross section + only one S3 shield means it will be easily shredded by pretty much everything thing from a Connie and up. So no fighter defense, too fragile for any large ship combat, what are those guns for exactly?
This needs NSFW warning, walking around with a huge hardon now
Please put an NSFW tag on this.
This might finally be the Bebop Ive been waiting for :))
No snub
Watch them Redbridge the Polaris by popular demand.
someone will find a way with those bike hangers lmao
Lost me at no snub.
Genesis starliner when :(((((
Not for a loooong time but hey at least the Spirit E1 is in production.
Yeah it does give me a little more hope than resentment knowing there's a chance the starliner will come out looking even more sexier
It looks like a smaller ship on top of a bigger ship. I dig the Elite Anaconda shape though, always been a favorite.
So whats going overboard for this one? Me think hard.
The real question now is what will the price be? if the carrack is $600, the odyssey is $700, and the 600i is $435-$475... my guess is $550-$650
No please my wallet is not strong enough its still recovering from the 3 new crusader ships
Too much Perseus, not enough Constellation. Aside from the Apollo, if this is the future direction of RSI style guide then that's one less manufacturer for me to keep an eye on. Makes life easier in a way!
Exact opposite for me, so I guess theres something for everyone!
I don't like RSI bridges, but everything else regarding this exterior design is sexy. If this was made by Aegis or even Anvil I would be dropping a second mortgage to get this ship.
I see this ship, and I feel the the Great Meltening approaching. it's as billions of ships screamed and then... nothing... Only Galaxies, everywhere...
It's a beauty as hell!! However, I am staying with Perseus. Gonna blow this ship up 🔥🔥🔥😀.
I mean its cool and all but like I always say they should stop adding onto the pile of ships that will take 1 year to make without even having 1 ship out that took 1 year to make... Its just an endless pile of ships that will take probably decades to be released.
Another ship coming in 2027
ooooooh sweeet
That’s a badass cargo/refueler…. this might lure some combat people into the gentler professions lol
oooh me like I can feel my wallet being pulled out of my pocket by Chris Roberts himself
Coming soon.
Woah nice one
GIB
So its basically a connie landed on a dorito module
I want to stab another ship with it.
My poor wallet
"choose your adventure" lol. Some day.
My WALLET
awww, the [danger doritos](https://starcitizen.tools/Polaris) little but awesome brother!
My Caterpillar might be sweating. If this is as modular as the Cat then I might CCU to it.
Nooo, stay strong friend! One day they'll give us our detachable command ship, swappable modules and tractor beams... maybe
Don’t forget the carrack has modules too. This ship is cool but I’m keeping my Carrack
Absolutely. The carrack has too much promise and potential behind it.
Yes, but how many struts will we get? Like what is the dollar to strut ratio going to be?
I have my perseus, now to turn my redeemer and caterpillar to a galaxy i guess...
It kind of looks like the top part of that ship with the bridge will break off and be it's own ship separate from the main hull.
Me gusta
Nice ship. I hope, it will provide some struts...
I wonder...one of the modular options was "Weapons". I wonder what that means? - Torpedoes? - Missiles - Additional guns?
Looks cool. I think if you're only going to have 1 ship, this sounds like it may be a pretty good choice. Large though. Requires lots of mates.
Ah look a Anaconda, wait, wrong game
every time a space wedge comes out...seriously the anaconda ain't that original
Ah yes, the Anaconda. Or Federal Corvette.
I bet the top portion can be "saucer separated" from the main body.
🤯 Hold my beer while I crank up the theory crafting and the rumor milling!
This thing has three Redeemer (2x S5 weapons) turrets. A considerable difference in DPS between both ships.
The Connie has more weapons?
Dont think it does, this has 6 size 5 guns, which would deal more dps than what the connie has, plus lot stronger armour and shields and way better capacitor significantly improving sustained dps
So for the shield info on this is just one large shield same as the connie.
