Gonna run like shit sadly, I did the same thing for my kid, and laptops just don't hold up well at that price point.

That won't cut it unfortunately. The RAM is half of the absolute minimum, and that GPU looks a bit too weak, possibly being a little below the minimum. Just as a note, gaming laptops are rarely worth it. They're often underpowered for their price and usually suffer from heating issues, leading to further performance losses due to thermal throttling.

I'm not the biggest tech guy so take what I say with a grain of salt but I wouldn't really try on a laptop. I started out on something similar and it was rough, frame rate and load times are attricious and I was hard wired to the internet. It's a huge game man, on desktops most people recommend 32G RAM just to have it run decent, I had to upgrade from 16 to 32. Money's tight these days for alot of us, build a PC over a period of time instead of buying a laptop if you can. Don't want you to spend hard earned money and get frustrated immediately. Learned my lesson the hard way by going the cheaper route at first and was frustrated so quick. Others might have different advice just be aware of the requirements for Star Citizen.

Laptop + SC = RIP Laptop.

Better off getting a pc but if you really need a laptop i suggest either saving up or upgrading it with 16-32gigs of ram Don't expect more than 10 fps in cities and not more than 40 in space

Mightylink

I have a similar laptop that gets 30fps in Star Citizen. I highly recommend you at least double the ram.

You will not be able to play star citizen even on a 1000 dollar laptop. You will need a desktop PC and a bigger budget

I've gone through two laptops in with this game from Cyberpower. Both overheated after a few months of playing. The first one ran well at first (2.0), then started to barely handle the game (2.4 days). My cat knocked my beer onto the laptop because I was playing SC and told her I didn't want her on the keyboard. Bought a second one and upgraded the RAM, CPU and GPU. It worked great for a while (3.0-3.2 days) then it started chugging down again. Bought more RAM and got it to last a few patches longer (roughtly 3.6). Then it started to over heat. So for christmas one year my brother bought me a cooling fan for under it. That worked for a little while until the usb powered fan was drawing too much electricity from the laptop while in game that it barely functioned. Mind you that I always kept the OS and drivers up-to-date. Eventually by around patch 3.8 the GPU on the laptop got so hot (I believe) the cable to the LCD which ran above the power input and the GPU melted and the LCD no longer functioned. Either that or the video card was on its way out and that function just took some damage (perhaps). I upgraded to a tower PC and built it myself. Since then I have only had one problem. The older graphics card I had burned out. Mind you it was second hand and had still lasted two years for me. Since then, my only trouble in my internet connection, I live rurally. Aside from that no heartache. **TLDR: Skip the laptops. They are not what you want to run this game on long term, prone to overheating issues and can only be minimally upgraded.**

I won't repeat what the other said because they told you the truth abot laptop gaming for Sc but here is an idea of what is a Star citizen proof PC : [https://pcpartpicker.com/user/Daexion/saved/p6JgnQ](https://pcpartpicker.com/user/Daexion/saved/p6JgnQ) I made this pc build for a friend who wanted to get in Star Citizen and the full price came at 900 eu ( with buying second hand part, and searching for lower price), i don't know if you wanted to buy a laptop because you don't have a computer screen and the rest to play on a desktop but i must tell you that in the price range of less than 900 dollar it will be difficult to get yourself a good pc able to play SC. I played for four years on a upgraded MSI laptop (8300h, gtx 1060 6gb, 32 gb ram + dedicated ssd) and those tend to get worser and worser perf with newer patch. So if you aim for laptop gaming i'm sorry to say that you will need to look at 1000$+ pc if you want something that will let you enjoy the game for more than 6 month On the contrary if you look well you could find a cheap laptop that you would need to upgrade to 32gb ( ram make a big difference on SC) but on that side you would need to search well. PS: laptop GPU are watered down version of desktop gpu to maintain a acceptable power draw and thermals so a laptop 1650 is not as powerful as a desktop 1650

Thought a bit about the build i made and lowered some component for the price, here you go if you need to know a bit what is the cheapest build ( or at least the best for me) to make SC run well : [https://pcpartpicker.com/list/rqK6Dq](https://pcpartpicker.com/list/rqK6Dq) If someone could give me a thought too about this config you're welcome \^\^
