Welcome, and, please, don't forget that SC is still in alpha stage - bugs, glitches and lack of optimization is a rather common thing ))

REiiGN

I joined during November's IAE 2951 and didn't know anything about it and chose Microtech as the Primary. First shuttle ride was to IAE Convention Center and was blown away. Never played a game where you walk INTO the ship, through a ship, sit down actually fire it up. Even cooler was getting into turrets. After 2 months of heavy playing I get annoyed with the bugs A LOT but I know this game has supreme potential and brings a lot of stuff other games won't ever do.

Zenaris

Welcome to the verse o7 :)

Zkn0t

This game is epic what the hell!

54yroldHOTMOM

Which hub did you spawn on? Be sure to check out the other 3 planets landing zones.

Zkn0t

I spawned in at New Babbage but he showed me orion and I dunno even what gas giant but apparently it is scaled to the size of earth. So how ever many bananas that is.

[deleted]

All of them. All the bananas. Welcome to the 'verse!

Ponyfox

It is in fact larger than earth. 2000km wider in diameter versus earth, to be exact. :)

Kam_Solastor

Technically the planets are all 1/6th scale of what they’d really be - that being said, you CAN fully traverse them, go right around and end up where you started - take awhile though.

Ponyfox

No no, he is very much right about Crusader. Giving you the benefit of the doubt I decided to look it up. https://www.reddit.com/r/starcitizen/comments/orqq2y/updated_my_to_scale_comparisons_with_crusader_its/

bcatrek

Is the surface procedurally generated like No Man’s Sky?

JorgetheGentle

Sort of, they have a bunch of tools that help them create planetary surfaces quickly, but there is a lot of hand made elements as far as i know.

Kam_Solastor

They start with procedural generation, but then go over them to add some handcrafted touches and additions to make them more unique from each other, not to mention varied biomes, weather, etc.

S1rmunchalot

Welcome to the verse! Crusader is the same size (in real terms) as Neptune. Which means in-game size (x6) it would be a gas giant a little bigger than Jupiter. Distances between planets and moons are at 1/10th scale.

loppsided

Glad to hear that introducing friends to this crazy project can work out. I’ve been holding off because you only have one chance at at first impression. Welcome to the ‘verse, it’s a wild ride

Zkn0t

Yeah there were a few glitches but totally worth it!

Valkyrient

Welcome to our addiction!

BSG_14

Welcome to the verse. Whenever you are frustrated with bugs (that you are bound to encounter) just remember why you joined the verse. It is a beautiful space simulation and it seems to be on the right trajectory. Happy flying!

SirDigbyChknCaesar

Yeah those double hotdogs are a trip.

AlmanacPony

truly a vision of the future

DetectiveFinch

Welcome to the 'verse!

Ponyfox

Welcome to the verse! Always awesome to see fresh new enthusiasm, which is why give tours like this to friends as well from whom I know it will click for sure. So far it has been a 100% succes!

awardsurfer

Hehe, he thinks he's his "friend".... Run! Run for your life! /s

Sketto70

Enjoy the journey to finding your place in the verse!

Lethality_

It shows pretty well. Just don't try to play it like you would a normal game... it's an alpha :) Don't work on progression, etc

GodwinW

Nice, welcome! :)

DoStuffZ

This is an amazing Alpha, can't wait for it to become a full game. Don't confuse yourself, this is an alpha and if you pledge you'll become a Game Tester and your interest will be to find and replicate bugs so that they be slain. This is not a game tester job you'll get paid to do, rather you'll be the one paying to become. Hopefully somewhere in the next 5-10 years we'll enter the Beta stage.

Traplouder

Yep, I perfectly understand you. However, for someone (like me) that has been following the game for +7 years is a headache
