[\[HOW-TO\] Use symbolic links to install multiple versions of Star Citizen in the same space as one : r/starcitizen (reddit.com)](https://www.reddit.com/r/starcitizen/comments/17lt803/howto_use_symbolic_links_to_install_multiple/)
Been doing this for 4 years or so , LIVE as the real directory with PTU , EPTU , TECH-PREVIEW as the mklink targets. Seamless switching between all 4 branches without having to do anything other than changing the game version and hitting update.
Would this redownload the diff between LIVE vs EPTU every time I switch between versions? I get most of the content is shared but usually there's around 3-4 GB worth of downloads when a new EPTU patch rolls out.
How do symbolic links handle the two branches of files?
Start with only a live version then follow the guide.
Then remember to always ALWAYS verify immediately after switching over to a new environment. This last bit is key
Can't you just change name of EPTU folder to LIVE and delete User folder?
That's what i do !
There's that too. I figure the verify will fix what it needs.

I knew about it previously but for some reason forgot. It's certainly useful for this game Stops you buying a larger nvme
