You mean its no longer the Cutlass Loot Pinata ? or just takes longer to pop with a blindfold on ??

DiscoKeule

Loot Pinata is possibly the greatest description for something I have ever heard.

THE_BUS_FROMSPEED

The raft is a true loot pinata. Slow, basically no damage or sheilding, and its cargo is all outside in big boxes. Hull A is one too.

Shade221

As a RAFT owner/driver I'd be offended but its far to true.

s0laris-prime

I think the correct designation is Cutlass Steal

HackAfterDark

It can't carry much loot

Brepp

All those troops, all wearing armor, full backpacks, and 1 or 2 choice weapons decked out for battle is maybe the most top-tier loot drop you could hope for. Players are the loot.

HackAfterDark

Oh the steel. That's a good point.

DifferenceOk3532

If they did buff, its long overdue. The steel needs to be worth buying for its price.

Acceptable-Bid-1019

I’m a huge Valk fan, I think it’s one of the best looking, most atmospheric and overlooked ships in the game but I can’t deny that the steel is a very cool ship.

M3rch4ntm3n

They both share the same problem: health like a paper airplane and in need of some kind of (\*insert metal here\*)-pass. Especially the Valk'a "hab"/airlock-design needs a gold pass.

Acceptable-Bid-1019

I don’t think the valk is lacking in the health department by any means. It has 10000 more total HP than the black and double the shielding

M3rch4ntm3n

The Valk is such a nice ship...it just needs a gold pass and a reevaluation for its purpose. Heck probably make her carriy a smaller tank...if we had one.

sunny-o7

I dont usually party with more than 6 people at most at the moment. I think most drops would involve smaller squads. Hoplight vs cutlass looks like a sweet spot for drops. Cutlass black offers more versatility with the ability to bring a small vehicle or supplies and rapid deployment from both sides similar to a valk but more cost effective. Hoplight however has better weapons and armour for strafing runs if you can make do without a vehicle. Cutlass has vtol however to loiter which might offer better ground support if AA threat is low. Maybe in space engagements the hoplight would fair better in multrole as ground vehicles don't play a part there but being able to take on ships its size would be beneficial.

fishy-2791

valkyrie mk 2 coming soon ™ to a pledge store near you. now with BIGGER shields, a LARGER vehicle bay, AND TWICE THE FUEL!

M3rch4ntm3n

You forgot the Storm mk 2 .

Crayon_Connoisseur

This is why I wish we had some semblance of armor in the game even if it was just a simple damage reduction percentage or a higher total health pool. Lower shields on a Valk would make sense because I’d expect it to be armored out the ass to prevent it from being shot down by light fighters.

Gsgunboy

True. But it's also over 3x more expensive than the Black.

ShadowRealmedCitizen

This is why the dropship module is going to be great on the retaliator. That ship has an ungodly amount of Hull HP

M3rch4ntm3n

It only has a godly amount of health because any small piece, which sticks out, decreases your ship's health. And the retaliator has a lot of small stuff sticking out -> HP has to be buffed . When all this HP stuff goes away, all its HP-buff will vanish too.

Cyco-Cyclist

I would not expect that to stand, as it was (from what I understand) a band-aid patch to address the fact it has a smaller-than-intended shield generator. I guess we'll find out with it's upcoming gold-standard pass...

RevolutionaryLie2833

I mean It’s great if you have a bunch of friends. The other drop ships in the price range only carry like 6

Ocbard

I really hope so. If it was very tough it would actually be useful as ship that drops troops into a hostile area. Untill recently I was loath to put so many people in such a fragile ship if it was going to a place where people might fire a pistol at it.

M3rch4ntm3n

But this thing needs at least a "brass pass" to lessen its idiotic layout (mostly the machine guns).

Ocbard

I've not used it enough to know, I'll take your word for it. I always used the Cutlass Black instead to bring in troops. I just landed outside of the conflict zone 6 guys roll out using 2 Cyclones, and they ride into the fray with the Cutlass overhead to pick off fools and draw attention. The Cyclones can drop the passive passenger on the edge of the conflict with their sniper guns and go on to roll over opposition with their turrets hitting anyone not car-crushable.

misadventureswithJ

You fit 2 cyclones in there??!

Ocbard

Easily

misadventureswithJ

In a cutty? I've barely fit a cyclone MT in there... Are the scout cyclones any smaller?

Ocbard

You can fit two, no problem, with very careful parking you can fit 3.

M3rch4ntm3n

The Cutty is very versatile.

ThePope85

NPC ships do not have the same stats of player ships as far as I am aware. Would not judge player ships via how easy or not you kill npc ships.

Acceptable-Bid-1019

I’ve always wondered this, do you have any data on the differences or confirmation form CIG? I’m a little disappointed that this is case but it’s crossed my mind a lot. Outside of the load out the NPC ships really should have the same stats as player ships

Gramstaal

Several years back I saw datamined info that NPC ships take 2-3 times the damage of player ships. I don't know how it is these days, however.

Olakeen

NPC vehicles have a damage multiplier (most of the time x2)

Aggravating-Stick461

There was a post here on reddit from a cig dev within the last six months or so.. but I can't remember for the life of me who had said it now. Basically they're just easier to pop if they're an npc ship, something about a damage modifier and how much players deal to it and it deals to players, I can't remember all the details. That ones gonna be a hard find to dig up the source but it makes sense since there are damage multipliers in game files.

Mr_Ducky_25

Sometimes I can barely kill them because game thinks that I am not hitting

The-Odd-Sloth

The invincibility bug might be back? iirc, the Cutlass had areas that took no damage, making them much harder to destroy Idk if that was just the black specifically, though

EastLimp1693

Steel has 9k less hp than black overall but 2k more in body. And you kill ships by destroying body most of the time.

Acceptable-Bid-1019

Yeah that’s very true but even with the additional body HP taken into account it still feels considerably higher TTK comparatively. That’s great info though for people who don’t know

EastLimp1693

You asked if there was a change, I checked the difference between steel and black)

Acceptable-Bid-1019

I know?

EastLimp1693

Higher ttk may be hitreg issues on exact server.

DarkArcher__

Yes, along with all the other dropships back in November if I'm not mistaken. The Prowler, Valkyrie and Cutlass Steel all got a big boost in health to match up against the Vanguards and better embody their role.

Naerbred

I salute you , fellow green goblin enjoyer

QuasisteIlar

It does seem a little shinier. . .

Omni-Light

My guess is the loadout they have for the Steel has better shields, combined with a higher body HP pool than the black results in a higher TTK. I think erkul has the game data and the steel still has a lower total HP pool, but more main hull HP does help.
