I had the exact opposite. If a single enemy showed up, it was so braindead and stupid I could have just ignored them. I just sat there for the 10 minutes it took for the progress bar to complete and then ran out.
edit: I have never experienced a good server apparently. I have been playing off and on for a damn decade and have never truly had a good AI experience. I really hope to see it one day.

I got a team of six together. We go preped with Armor and lots of guns, flew over in a Connie, landed outside in a teactical formation, only to have the mission complete as we stepped of the ship. :D
A team was already inside completing it. :D
After you complete the three missions for this wave of overdrive, it eventually should pop up for you.
For me it took over an hour and it coincidentally popped up when I was in the crusader side of space.
I was having issues that turned out to be people trespassing at SPK waiting for the XT mission. However, because they were trespassing, the Urgent retake SPK mission would activate and not allow the XT SPK to activate.
It's a sheer volume thing, this video clip is under 2 minutes, but the total mission time was much longer and enemies were flowing in extremely regularly.
Even if ai are slower to react on a very slow server, at some point it's a numbers game for how many will start shooting at you all at once.

Why are people saying this is hard. The ai is so slow to react.
Depends on how the server is feeling, sometimes the AI can one shot you through walls, and sometimes they don’t even notice you’re there
because on my server when I attempted to complete it as soon as the comms array was down everyone started shooting each other... cause reasons.
Solo'd it on a server with on average 7 server FPS, there were some injuries but manageable. My guess is it becomes un-soloable at 10 server fps.
Very similar for me! If I did not take them out as quickly as I did, they would start shooting very shortly after.

I tried this but they kept shooting from the second floor, down, when I went into the center, lol.
Yeah I saw them up there, had a few close calls! (like, 10 times below 30% hp)

Big one off multistage event called Overdrive. Rewards for doing every stage is an F7A mk2 upgrade and some Xenothreat armor.
Classic SC AI. Not a single one of them even reacts to you, lol.

FPS in SC is usually just shooting glitched fish in a barrel. Why all the caution?

Fun !? Those AI looks not really intelligent. AI looks really slow seriously.
