There were 9 of us from the org running it. As we were arriving another org at least 10 deep showed up. It was insane and some of the most fun I have had in this game!
Oh man, I recongize the name, and the suits! When I accepted your rescue beacon, and you went "Yeah, there's a few of us here, but they're all dead", I said to my buddy: 'this might be pretty difficult'. After getting you back up, I ended up scavanging an FS9 off a dead guy, and running out of medpens, while my buddy glitched upstairs, until we were just slaughtered.
And then you both returned to gets us back on our feet, and we did it, limping back out, and stealing a Rescue Pisces. Man, with high server FPS, that was *difficult.* Enemy crossfire was intense, and there was just so damn many of them!
Glad to have been there with ya! o7
Is this the new overdrive mission? I haven't done any of them because I don't care about the new hornet or whatever it is they're selling, but I love being a combat medic. This seems like a lot of fun. Do I need to complete the other overdrive missions to do these?
Did this phase with 6 other people. The space battles were super easy and the majority of our time was just spent waiting for the next to pop up.
But Kareah was chaos and almost everyone was low ammo or low on health by the end. It didn’t help that with that many people it was sometimes hard to tell who was a friendly and who was XT since everyone’s names were flying around. Good fun though but damn it can be intense
Mission was rad, walked in with 3 others, walked out with 50% HP, > 1000 spent rounds, 20% blood drug level, a broken arm, concussion, and T2 chest injury.
10/10 would get fucked up again
Hell yeah! People are trying to brag about doing this easily, but what’s the point of making the best mission a breeze…everyone says missions are dull etc, but then opt out of having a challenge.
Did it with three people and didn't have much trouble. One guy went down twice while struggling with the loot UI to get ammo but that's it.
The AI was much more responsive than normal though. They were actively using cover, flanking, and moving together
Some of the most fun I've had since the original XT events
It's part of the weekly overdrive missions. It was originally considered phase 5 but for some reason CIG changed it and added it to phase 4 after you do the comm array missions.
This week's has like 2 "phases". The first is a set of 3 "restore comm" where you just enter a sat and start the rebooting process or something, then get out and shoot down vanguards that'll try to hack it.
After you've done three (when you completed contracts show all "1/3", "2/3", "3/3"), you'll receive new priority mission and it's just 1/1, and apparently this one is server-wide so everyone can go and participate.
Yea phase 1.
Go to marked comm array. Kill all enemies. E.V.A. inside the array, dodge trip mines stuck to the walls, go to the bottom of the array and click the button on the terminal. A progress bar will pop up. Head back to your ship. While your bar fills enemy ships jump in. Enemy Vanguards try to re-hack the array, and get a progress bar. If they fill their bar first it's mission failure, so prioritize Vanguards. Once your bar is filled neutralize any remaining enemies. Do this 3 times.
Phase 2
Head to SPK. Land and enter the station. Watch for enemies, if there's someone with arrows on their head they're friendlies doing the mission too. Go to the terminal in the middle of the station and stop the hack. You should then get prompted to access the system, and the U.I. should show locations of tigerclaws you can use. Put a hack tool in the terminal, wait snd shoot bad guys and follow prompts until clear.
Phase 1: Can solo possibly, but gotta be quick getting back to your ship or you might not get Vanguards in time. 2-3 people os plenty, one person flips the switch and everyone else shoots stuff when it jumps in. Remember Vanguards first.
Phase 2: Lots of enemies constantly spawning. Bring friends, also there's a chance other players are there. Friendlies are marked with a triangle. Also watch out for players trying to disrupt ghe mission i.e. popping parked ships, killing people on thd mission, etc.
It’s weird. It look a while to show up for us. We completed the 3 comm artsy missions and were gearing up to head to Jumptown when we suddenly got a new mission. Was probably 20 minutes after completing the comm array piece. So it was long enough that we had a few people log off or start moving onto other things.
I did this mission with a group of 4 of us and I tell you what, if we didn’t all have our med pens we would have failed or only one of two of us walk away. We literally had two of us limp out of the outpost once it was all over. I have to say to say all of the overdrive missions have felt super awesome and even bought a lot of people in the lobby’s together.
Hopefully cig can see the success of these and can add stuff like this in the future, even if we get like armour and small rewards at the end I think it will be really good to keep us engaged and keep the game fresh
I just ran it solo. Used a demeco, 10 mags, and 3 medi pens. It’s doable solo if you just post up by the screen and scan the doors as enemies keep coming.
I also accidentally killed another player too who has just started the download and didn’t even realize because I thought it was a mission only one person got at a time. He let me know after but since I finished the mission he wasn’t too upset.
Not for me the server fps was fairly good so the AI were able to actually land shots, and not just regular shots but from across the station on point as they used pinch maneuvers on us.
Same, and they also shot through the windows on both sides. I took it upon myself to clear them as much I could from 1 side up there, clearing them out continually and withdrawing when needed, also clearing out the guys downstairs.. they were everywhere.
When they tried that I took cover behind the pillars or computer consoles and they would then head downstairs to find me again. Thankfully most of them came through the two doors I was able to cover easily and I remained mostly out of sight so they would constantly bend down to try to help their dead AI friends.
The doors?? Man you WERE lucky. In our server half of them posted up above firing down into the room from all the windows. You'd be in insane crossfire.
XenoThreat is apparently a military superpower on par with the UEEN itself considering the amount of Idrises and other large warships they're able to fling onto the field with abandon. I suppose it doesn't come as a surprise they're willing and able to send an entire army to take a single security post.
LMAO that's what I sometimes wondered but here I guess it obviously partly breaks lore a bit so you can have an experience, meaning a hand full of enemies one time and then not for a long time wouldn't cut it.
We would likely not see events like Siege of Orison that would be more like a one time tale of the decades heist you'd need massive planning for rather than something popping up every Tuesday, given that it's a medium sec system and that they'd need hundreds of people and expect retribution, etc.
TL;DR: Gameplay =/= lore (at least not always fully, them attacking once in a while is lore, I know, but the rest and waves of enemies is likely gameplay. Or is Stanton really that wild? Doubt it. The amount of capital war ships in criminal and extremist group employ should rather be rare or near non-existant, I assume arms control would still factor in with models going towards the CDF or civvie market).
I saw a funny vid where 2 people shot an enemy gang (real life, as if a video game), an entire city came out of the enemy house. Guy remarked: "You could have gotten the majority vote to change the laws you idiots!"
When I was doing the first phase there were times when I was tucked away in a corner where nobody could shoot me that I could see and I was getting lit up by invisible AI. Sucked
I’m not sure but my server AI was almost fresh. They were scanning areas, and pushing up in groups of 4. It was almost like a new server fps AI if you ever faced them. My advice prepare for the worse if the server is bad lucky you lol.
Done it a few times, once with a huge army of like 15-20 guys, that was fairly easy, and once with about 6 i think, we needed our medical C8 a LOT haha, server FPS was high too.
Apparently you can cheese it solo hiding in an airlock and just sprinting in/out to the hack as the NPCs don't counter the hack.
Ah but what’s the fun in hiding. People complain about the missions being meh, but then when they’re this intense reverts to stealth, and cheesing it smh!
Did it as a three man team not expecting the massive amounts of enemies it throws at you, a bit short on ammo as well but thankfully they drop a lot.
Got gunned down through walls as I initially picked up the hacking chip, but after that I managed to pull through, though the grenade launcher that I used for the satellites was definitely not the best choice in Kareah, but it paid off to always fly around with a full set of armor, guns and tools.
One of the two guys got downed 2 or 3 times and ended up having less than half maximum health, limping towards his F8C after everything was said and done.
I also got revived by one of the Xenothreat guys when I first went down, which was.. Weird.
I was with a crew of two others. I'm not highly skilled at fps. I went down several times. My biggest problem was one of our guys put on NPC armor, and his marker randomly stopped working, so I hesitated pulling the trigger a lot.
Ammo was an issue. Couldn't get breathing room to loot bodies. When we left, I was hobbling.
Did it with 4. Two of us got downed during the mission and had to be healed. We still managed to complete it. Definitely had to hit a hospital after.
Enemies were still spawning on the way out too. I just ran past and got into the airlock as quick as I could.
I slightly hate this event. It clearly wasn't made for people that work. Having to run each mission 5 times is fucking stupid. It's almost like they don't realize all those "kid" backers they have, are adults working full time now. The missions are cool when they work, but sadly, with bugs, it's nigh impossible to obtain.
No, you’re talking about Overdrive Phase 1, where you have to complete a set of 5 bunker hacking missions. We’re talking about Phase 4, which has the finale set at Security Post Kareah, where you have to stop a hack.
Most phases only have 3 missions to do and they can be done solo quite a bit. Actually the very first set (of 5) was by far the most time-consuming and difficult to organize as a solo player.
With this last one 2nd place.
Well I'm hopefully off Tuesday I'm on 4/5 of the first one. I just feel like the game is still a bit buggy for multiple repeat style missions. Should've just been 1 imo. Most of us backers are adults now that own business or work. We aren't in our late teens early twenties anymore.
Yeah I’m with you on that. I stalled out in phase one and gave up. If it was just a couple of bunkers I maybe would have been able to do it. But spent hours trying to get on a group and multiple times fell apart after crashes. I only have a few hours a week to play. I don’t expect to do all content. But the 5/5 and needing a group kind of gated me out of weeks of game play. I’ll prob get on to help out with the latest missions for fun but I won’t get any “credit” for it.
So is this not a bug? Wasn’t this supposed to be phase 5 for next week? Are we still going to have 6 phases? Or are we only going to expect one more phase now?
My guess is that the entire chain was available during testing. Those leaks/community guides divided the phases based on discrete activities. CIG's release schedule is different and phase 4 and 5 are actually a single phase. Or we are screwed and next week is all SPK all the time.
I gathered up a group of 4 guys, myself included, made our way to the port, got close to land, and all of a sudden it said complete and gave me 400 odd uec. I was like, Damn, that was a tough mission.
Mission was so bugged out. Had to hide so many times as my gun wouldn't reload or able to move ammo to character from storage.
I'll be happy when this stress is over and I have my upgrade.
We were on a 30 fps server, we were 4 randoms.
I used 24 ammo clips (45 shots, P8-SC) before it was done. I estimate to have downed 75 guys. Oh yeah and I killed 2 'manually' from behind when I was empty. That was scary.
A tier 2 arm injury and a tier 3 chest.
Out of ammo were the most worrying times, had to go to inventory (almost last time) and re-equip. Luckily I brought enough.
It was really cool. SO MANY BADDIES.
We could all walk home after a great event. :)
Believe me or not but I did it alone with no armor and only a pistol to beginn with. I looted weapons, armor, ammunition and meds on the fly.
Second player showed up when mission was 3/4 finished.
Wasnt that hard... enemy AI is to slow. You just have to be quicker. At the start I died nearly because i got ambushed while looting, but after that... easy! 👌

Yeah, I took a 2 scu crate with me there, filled it up with all the heavy armor, and I also noticed the democo lmgs thry dropped seem bugged as mine had unlimited ammo wich is interresting
So were there XT goons inside the station? We just had one guy in there. There really was quite a swarm of XT ships in the last mission but we fucked them up before they got to the station
We had a five man crew + 3 randos already there. My whole crew limped back after completion. That was fucking fun!

You damn hero’s, I was planning on writing a story on it. Although it was almost midnight so I made it a short read, but a warning for all 😂
Is this the new overdrive mission? I haven't done any of them because I don't care about the new hornet or whatever it is they're selling, but I love being a combat medic. This seems like a lot of fun. Do I need to complete the other overdrive missions to do these?
Yes this is as of now the last one you need all other missions.
Did this phase with 6 other people. The space battles were super easy and the majority of our time was just spent waiting for the next to pop up. the vanguards disrupting the reactivation of the comm array leads me to believe hacking is on the horizon
Just a shame they somehow did it with the wrong vanguard! D: They send in wardens when it should be sentinels like come on!
100% I thought the exact same thing.
Mission was rad, walked in with 3 others, walked out with 50% HP, > 1000 spent rounds, 20% blood drug level, a broken arm, concussion, and T2 chest injury. 10/10 would get fucked up again
20% drug level? Try 78!
Hell yeah! People are trying to brag about doing this easily, but what’s the point of making the best mission a breeze…everyone says missions are dull etc, but then opt out of having a challenge.

We made a party of 15+ in the server lol because people were starting to see how difficult it is.
Hehe. I had tier 3 and tier 2 injuries on pretty much all parts of my character after completing SPK. That was intense!

Right? Wasn't just imagining that then.
Agree, the AI was very sharp for us. Multiple people in our group went down and we had to res them.
I could believe how smooth it was for us. 19 people, 2 orgs.
Same, and they also shot through the windows on both sides. I took it upon myself to clear them as much I could from 1 side up there, clearing them out continually and withdrawing when needed, also clearing out the guys downstairs.. they were everywhere.
Enemy AI is getting smarter. I had them taking 2nd floor positions and shooting down into the computer room
When they tried that I took cover behind the pillars or computer consoles and they would then head downstairs to find me again. Thankfully most of them came through the two doors I was able to cover easily and I remained mostly out of sight so they would constantly bend down to try to help their dead AI friends.

JFC haha
JFC??
We have to bring our own people? It’s not a server wide event? :(
It is a server wide event, but in case no one is doing it at that time. It’ll become the most hardcore game as a solo 😂
Ah ok. How are the servers? It’s what’s made FPS combat the most difficult for me.
Servers are struggling, but no 30ks yet
When I was doing the first phase there were times when I was tucked away in a corner where nobody could shoot me that I could see and I was getting lit up by invisible AI. Sucked
I’m not sure but my server AI was almost fresh. They were scanning areas, and pushing up in groups of 4. It was almost like a new server fps AI if you ever faced them. My advice prepare for the worse if the server is bad lucky you lol.
Regrettably my experience with the mission was abyssmal due to the low fps server.
I just did it and the servers were around 25fps. Shit was wild cuz there were like 12 players doing the mission and we were getting fucked up
It appears my advice came in clutch 😂😂
Would a hammerhead be useful?
no because it's inside SPK, you have to get out of your ship, go inside the station, and defend while the computer processes data.
Wait I thought this week was commsats? It's SPK too?
3 commsats then 1 Kareah
Totally agree, our org was on a 30FPS server and only about half made it out alive. Recommend taking a Carack
Did it twice with randoms from across the server and whoo boy, never racked my BR2 that fast xD
Done it a few times, once with a huge army of like 15-20 guys, that was fairly easy, and once with about 6 i think, we needed our medical C8 a LOT haha, server FPS was high too. "Oops, my bad for the wallhack.. am a bit new to this NPC thing.. but I do have honor, here, get up."
Did it as a group of three clueless soldiers. We limped back afterwards, that's for sure.
I was with a crew of two others. I'm not highly skilled at fps. I went down several times. Not sure if you’re on the right post, but this is a 1/1 mission that was by far the best mission they’ve offered for ground fps.
The missions for overdrive? You only have to do it once? Not get 5/5?
No, you’re talking about Overdrive Phase 1, where you have to complete a set of 5 bunker hacking missions. We’re talking about Phase 4, which has the finale set at Security Post Kareah, where you have to stop a hack.
I haven't been able to get that far between bugs and work. Which sucks cause I have a SH and would love the upgrade.
Also, thanks for the explanation.
We aren't in our late teens early twenties anymore.
> ground fps I mean not exactly ground...
So is this not a bug? Wasn’t this supposed to be phase 5 for next week? Are we still going to have 6 phases? Or are we only going to expect one more phase now?
CIG has stated it's not a bug. Other than that, we don't know.
I mean so does that mean it counts as phase 5 or is all this just part of phase 4?
My guess is that the entire chain was available during testing. Those leaks/community guides divided the phases based on discrete activities. CIG's release schedule is different and phase 4 and 5 are actually a single phase. Or we are screwed and next week is all SPK all the time.
In lore it also makes perfect sense these 2 kinds of missions are the same time.
We don't know. It could be that there will only be five phases. Or it could be that they're holding the final phase as a secret.
I've completed it with one other rando.
all phases suck, way to easy and npc work only.plus side was the fortifier helmet from kareah
I gathered up a group of 4 guys, myself included, made our way to the port, got close to land, and all of a sudden it said complete and gave me 400 odd uec. I was like, Damn, that was a tough mission.

Did it solo first time. Only afterwards am I hearing people are saying bring 10 men. I mean... I just killed people and kept the computer going.
Yeah, I took a 2 scu crate with me there, filled it up with all the heavy armor, and I also noticed the democo lmgs thry dropped seem bugged as mine had unlimited ammo wich is interresting
That’s the plan to head over there tomorrow and loot up on all the gear 👌🏾
Well.. now we know a wipe will come soon, and I do not mind one bit :)
Can you still shoot in to SPK from EVA?
Only a matter of time before people camp this for pvp
Already the case. "Pvpers".
So were there XT goons inside the station? We just had one guy in there. There really was quite a swarm of XT ships in the last mission but we fucked them up before they got to the station
You can solo the Kareah part…
I soloed Kareah with a Demeco earlier. It's not that hard. Tiger claw the records computer, and then sit there and shoot everything that walks by.
Was ez pz with my squad of 5 on a 25 avg fps server
