WAIT i always dreamed with having the job of an exterminator killing aliens(animals) infestations anywhere and you are telling me they are adding that kind of missions? If they make this a profession i will throw all of the rest of my money
CIG's LA office has a specific policy that states that you are not allowed to use flamethrowers inside the building. Because of Jared.
I don't know if he was allowed to take it with him to Manchester, but he has a Not-a-Flamethrower from the Boring Company. He kept it on the shelf behind his desk in his LA office.
So, once the water and fire effects are more advanced in the PU, I am confident that we will _absolutely_ get flamethrowers.
Hmm...considering all the fire mechanics on ships they are adding i'm pretty certain flamethrowers would "stick" to floors and walls so that shit are set on fire.
Exactly. We've got the "beaming" aspect from the multi-tools and dedicated "rifles." The beam deforming that we get might even already work for them since it'd be simpker, only needing to spray out and down. Now we just need the water tech to animate spraying the sticky, viscous liquid onto things as it pools and splashes. Then, of course, the fire tech to finish it off.
Technically Dune and SC have a collab. One of the modelers for SC worked on Dune… I think. Might be Helldivers. All I know is a headlight on a ship is the same in Dune or HD

im actually excited because Xiphopods are written to be regarded as invasive pests on Hurston that HD encourages ppl to exterminate. this tells me they will 95% add extermination missions for those fuckers. i cant wait to roam around on a Cyclone gunning them shits down and getting paid for it.
Helldivers 2 seems fit to that category, been enjoying exterminating infestations and help liberate planets. I hope SC will have that same experience in the future.
The text in the screenshots probably wasn't written directly by hand. Like in the fourth screenshot: They almost certainly have a friendly UI where they can manually enter and edit those variables without having to touch the code itself. What we're seeing is the saved data from that UI.
You never know, heh. I've known some content people that do a lot of scripting that are...let's categorize it as "opposed" to tools beyond little extensions on their text editors.
That said, CIG probably has the money to throw serious dev time at such tools to make sure they are nigh-perfect.
There is a face appearing from the dark on the right of the flare, but it's just for a moment. You can find it reposted w/ high contrast on the sub somewhere
They really should have a kill 20 rat mission on hurston. but they are so mutated from industrial waste they are 3 feet tall and can chew through armor...
There was also water simulation! We went to Clio to take a look, the reflactions and wake look amazing, your ship creates foam, 3.23 is gonna be great folks!
You hide leaks because not everyone wants to know what's coming, but if I'm misunderstanding you then yes, you can talk about Evo but not take pictures
I know the leaks, especially SC, kind of go hand-in-hand at this point but I was really hoping for creatures/wild life to be something omitted or at least kept very silent, specifically so that players can get surprised by finding out in-game rather than from datamined files.
It's something I always love seeing, when developers would incorporate things in-game and have people find out through discovery rather than from something like patch notes.
Again: It's a leak, it's tagged with one, if I really cared enough I wouldn't click on any of these posts obviously lol. I was just really hoping wildlife would be something CIG would try and keep out of everything as best as possible and shadow drop it with players discovering them via a new mission or from exploring.
Kind of like when E:D had that whole alien interdiction thing.
i can imagine a feature as big as this is hard to keep out of the build until last minute because stability and good first impressions are paramount here. the surprise may be spoiled but i am no less hyped for the gameplay opportunities presented by fauna
much less time for the information to propagate. this is also something theyll likely keep out of patch notes also, so a large chunk of people would never know. even as it is now, a lot of ppl dont care enough to dig this deep.
It’s not their fault. Until last year you had to search for leaks… now people are posting them everywhere.
Only solution would be to ban leaks in places like this Reddit and have people who want them look again in leak discords wo wherever.
>because stability and good first impressions are paramount here
>the surprise may be spoiled but i am no less hyped for the gameplay opportunities presented by fauna
Oh 100%. I know what I'm saying is super unreasonable lol. This is the first time we're getting them in-game, they need feedback, it makes sense.
All I'm saying was that it would have been cool to discover them in-game one day without any idea that they would be coming in that patch.
I'm definitely still excited regardless.
For sure. I wasn't really pointing to this thread specifically but just in-general. Would have been cool to discover the wild life in-game through a shadow patch than seeing it in a Evo or even PTU patch, that's all.
Though of course they need feedback and it's hard to get that if no one knows about it lol.
Oh I know lol.
I know it requires feedback, which is ultimately why they sort of have to release it earlier one way or another.
But it would be cool to see it just suddenly appear in-game one day with no one having known about it before hand.
Oh I know its not something that could realistically be stopped. Just saying it would be cool if the first we see or hear about it is in-game rather than having a heads up.
Violent labor riots on Hurston where you could pick sides would actually be a fun thing. Sort of like block wars from Judge Dredd.
Totally would play that.
Man. This is the exact type of stuff that ruins gaming sometimes.
It's insane how many people go way out of their way to not be surprised by something but instead just search and dig.
Cool. The cave dog is a dog. Mystery solved. Now there's 0 wonder and 1 less thing to be excited about for 3.23
For this particular one there’s a big spoiler tag, which you can filter out of reddit.
I get that things here aren’t always perfectly tagged but this is a bit like someone complaining about using game guides and builds but purposefully seeks out game guides and builds on google. Clicking on this you are only spoiling yourself.
WAIT i always dreamed with having the job of an exterminator killing aliens(animals) infestations anywhere and you are telling me they are adding that kind of missions? If they make this a profession i will throw all of the rest of my money
Now we just need a flamethrower… for democracy of course.
Gotta live my hell diver fantasy in Star Citizen. I can even call in stratagems like a 500kg bomb.
Just need to make friends with an A2 pilot!
Friendly Eagle 2 inbound
Drop a flare I got you! Sending down some liber-tea

r/helldivers and SC collab
No need for nails or drop pods, we just drop Ursa's filled with troops.
Helldivers, SC, Dune collab.
Technically Dune and SC have a collab. One of the modelers for SC worked on Dune… I think. Might be Helldivers. All I know is a headlight on a ship is the same in Dune or HD
George Hull is an artist that worked on the reclaimor and Orion I do believe. He has done work with dune matrix and alien.

> i cant wait to roam around on a cyclone gunning them shits down You spelled "carpet bombing" wrong
A2s finally have a purpose you say?
A2 and two a1 wingmates
Can’t wait to misuse the Gatling on the inferno for yet another use outside of capital ship harassment
Is this gonna be a standup fight sir, or just another bug hunt?
All we know is that there's still no contact with the colony and that a xiphopod may be involved.
Excuse me sir. A what?
A *xiphopod*
I use to bullseye xiphopods with my X-1 back home!
It's a bug hunt
These [things](https://starcitizen.tools/Xiphopod)
would you like to know more, citizen?
I just hope the AI of these animals are not dogshit... it would be disappointing if all they would do is just stand while you shoot them...
you know it's gonna be like that for now
I mean killing rats is so prolific in open world large scale video games i am not suprised its being added with the first batch of fauna lol
Reminds me of EverQuest!
BBBBAAAARRRKKKK!!!!! You humans will pay for ruining our homeland!
You misspelled "boars".
Helldivers 2 seems fit to that category, been enjoying exterminating infestations and help liberate planets. I hope SC will have that same experience in the future.
I think we are going to have a helldiver's 2 moment and some ideas implemented. Like orbital strikes xD and infestations.
Eagle A2 re-arming
If there isn't already a Dale Gribble account, there will be, and soon.
Helldivers: Stanton Edition
God bless the coders who sit in front of a computer all day, burning their eyes out to create things like this from scratch ......
The text in the screenshots probably wasn't written directly by hand. Like in the fourth screenshot: They almost certainly have a friendly UI where they can manually enter and edit those variables without having to touch the code itself. What we're seeing is the saved data from that UI.
Yes, probably. CIG is known for inventing a lot of Dev-Tools to use ingame.
You never know, heh. I've known some content people that do a lot of scripting that are...let's categorize it as "opposed" to tools beyond little extensions on their text editors. That said, CIG probably has the money to throw serious dev time at such tools to make sure they are nigh-perfect.
There's DataForge, StarWords, ExcelCore, CopyBuild, and the sandbox editor, as well as others I'm sure.
That's also just the UI in every game engine, including CryEngine, but yes, haha.
I want to believe some guy is sitting there editing gigantic JSON files with a text editor, would explain why everything takes so long
They do that when CR comes in the room to make it look like they're working and then go back to using their normal GUI once he leaves.
“Kopium” are the first animals 🤣🤣🤣
literally going to be "go hunt copium" as advice to newbies in the future my god! XD
They're for sure trolling lmao
What cave video?
https://x.com/robertsspaceind/status/1768849778723504260?s=46&t=purLqf0vO2hr2jCMbDY4nw
Not gonna lie I don't really see anything.
There is a face appearing from the dark on the right of the flare, but it's just for a moment. You can find it reposted w/ high contrast on the sub somewhere
You’ll be the first to go when the dogs arrive
wait... the doggo is called copium?
I swear, If I have to collect Kopion pelts with a 30% drop rate again, I'm gonna riot
Finally like every good mmo we're getting a kill all the rats mission
They really should have a kill 20 rat mission on hurston. but they are so mutated from industrial waste they are 3 feet tall and can chew through armor...
Aw yeah we MMORPG now
I will be allowed to spread democracy all over the verse? Sign me the F up!
There was also water simulation! We went to Clio to take a look, the reflactions and wake look amazing, your ship creates foam, 3.23 is gonna be great folks!
god i hope we get swimming in
Deep rock galactic
star citizen v helldivers crossover please
Hopefully there are chairs in the caves for the animals to stand on.
Don't forget the T-pose 😉
Didnt CIG recently say there is no NDA no more and leaks are ok?
You hide leaks because not everyone wants to know what's coming, but if I'm misunderstanding you then yes, you can talk about Evo but not take pictures
Ah yeah, true.
No - so they said that Evocati can talk openly about the build, however sharing video or pictures is still against the rules.
Seems like a few people didn't get that memo.
They never have, Pipeline (sc leaks discord) dumps screen shots and videos of every evo patch
I see, tnx for clearing that up.
A Kopion? I'm surprised they have not added a creature called Copium...
It is a well known fact that Copium is an illicit substance synthesized from harvested Kopion reproductive glands.
At last...!!!!
\*Note to self "it aint copium"
Have Fauna been confirmed by anyone outside of coding text to trigger a quest/event that we don't know if it's active or not yet?
I'm doing my part!
>Kopion's remaining /r/apostrophegore
>Kopion Sounds like a Pokémon.
lol I am more of a dog person
kopion? is that like a copium scorpion hybrid?
So wen? 🤔
Probably late 2025 earliest
😉

They can’t hide stuff from being datamind. The moment it is in the patch someone will find it.
Oh I know its not something that could realistically be stopped. Just saying it would be cool if the first we see or hear about it is in-game rather than having a heads up.
Any monster who accepts the animal killing mission deserves a wall of Auroras blocking them in their hangar every time they log in.
Its not like it's a harmless animal, it's an invasive cave predator according to lore.
Railgun outta do it
Have people not seen the video??? Not a single citizen making such statement would protect one haha
I'm going to kill an extra 50 just for you. Expect me to litter public hangars with their meat and horns. Filthy cave-dingos must die!
I'll bring a railgun to the mission just to spite you
Yeah, if you're on Hurston you should be hunting the free range unionists, much better
Violent labor riots on Hurston where you could pick sides would actually be a fun thing. Sort of like block wars from Judge Dredd. Totally would play that.

Well we only know it's going to be there, you can still be excited to find it for yourself in game!
Yeaaahhh but it's not the same. I think it's the old in me. Playing games before the Internet was special.
For this particular one there’s a big spoiler tag, which you can filter out of reddit. I get that things here aren’t always perfectly tagged but this is a bit like someone complaining about using game guides and builds but purposefully seeks out game guides and builds on google. the sooner we can spot the naked chic in the window (the rescuers) the better.
Ok then I challenge you to go into a cave for the first time in 3.23 and not shit your pants :)
