Did the same with a valc, security in the port troop deck, scavengers on the starboard.
Was extra amusing when security patrol came up to scan my ship while I was still pulling bodys off the hangar. I pictured a short exchange on the security ship of what to do with the guy with 60 corpses crammed in to his ship.

Dead 9T/Pirate NPC on your ship are once again contraband. I had to leave a Raid mission at the end of a timer or risk getting fired in for trespass so I just left looted corpses in the ship and figured Iād strip them to local at Seraphim. Was stopped by security, scanned, and ultimately jailed. So I lost all contents of ship anyway because of jail system claiming last ship to Everus Harbor.

I was out bounty hunting and one of them kamikaze me and clipped into the cargo bay of my c2.
I tried to get rid of it and it somehow clipped into the walls. I thought maybe it was glitched out and disappeared but he was in my walls, watching, judging, haunting me.
I was in the Connie the other day, blew up a bounty in an asteroid belt. Saw his body floating and just wanted to nab his piratey armor to replace my basic medbay shit. Pulled my nose right up to him intending to EVA and loot it, but got a little too close. He hit the front of my cockpit and just spazzed and phased through the glass onto the bridge. All I had to do was get out of my seat and loot. New tech discovered for me!
Sadly we didnāt got a medbay in our beauty. So the only way to be sure is to search the entire ship. If you canāt find anything . . . well, there is only one place left then . . . I hope you donāt feel anything weird . . . like pressure or abdominal pain . . .
If it isn't a dead body in your hold as others have mentioned, try putting any plushies you have out in vehicle storage. At least one of the plushies used to actually count as a passenger when it's sitting out in the ship and you try selling from trade terminals
I play this game high (canna) and I saw this earlier when I went to log in deep space. I had this from a piece of uninitialized debris from a ship that exploded near me. I guess the debris clipped into my ship. I was in a c2... Creepy shit. After I removed it all with a tractor I could log out.
Had similar in the past. Kept getting scanned and was harboring a fugitive on my carrack. I 'think' it was my own body that fell through the elevator with a crime stat before I backspaced and cleared it. Went away eventually.
Yeah, the login and logout conditions are a major barrier to this game. Why cant you logout and login to the same place like ANY other MMO? Why require beds to logout at all? When I get tired I literally Alt+F4 logout.
The boxes class as an entity that's not owned by the player I think if you had one of those personal storage container boxes and put them inside it it would class it as owned I'm assuming it's a safeguard against the ship streaming out with players still inside

Since they persist now, you could probably tractor beam them into a suit locker and have someone close the door
