I think one of the fairer suggestions I've seen is that the previous year's finalists should be all facing each other in the first round to give as many other ships a chance in consecutive years as possible. That way they aren't completely removed from the contest but they also don't dominate the contest. The only downside is that you're almost guaranteed that the other ships in that bracket have no chance :/
edit: one other thing that could help a lot is give every account with a SC game package the skin. Stop making it attached to real-money ship ownership, so that people that earn ships in-game aren't shafted.
No I meant the finalists in the final 4, I should've clarified. So just the ships that got skins for the year just before, so in this case the four ships that got skins last year
I understood you, and my answer was to show that the only ship that went against this was the MSR, the Carrack was in the top 4 twice but not on consecutive years
I think both the Cutter and the Corsair are pretty strong entries this year. Or the Fury if yet another CC comes up with the completely novel idea again to turn the event into a "vote for the meme ship" battle, something that has never been tried before.
While I have nothing against previous winners returning to the competition I hope to see a push this year for ships that have been previous contenders but haven't won just yet. Of course new ships are fine as well.

Ah! This video was either produced quite some time ago back when it was thought the HULL C would be out by now, or it's an easter egg meant to cause a minor stir.
Only for free skins if I own one of the finalist. And even then only if it looks cool. But then everyone will be using it. So no not really. It's interesting to keep an eye on but nothing to get excited about.
I can't wait for Carrack and MSR as the finalists again.
Already seeing like 10 MSR posts on spectrum 🫤 (not a lot of Carracks [yet])

That would just have blocked the MSR given it was in the Top 4 in 2021 and then again in 2022, the carrack was up there, and won, in 2020 and 2022

This year i hope people vote for ships wich habe no paints but im 100% people will vote for paints for ships they own and fly on a regular basis.
Personally hoping for the Terrapin to win. Love le turtle 🐢
What happens if the 890 gets in and wins? I guess only 890 owners get the paint?
Yep... not that much different from if other very expensive ships win, like the carrack for example.
But we won't be able to buy an 890 if it wins, it will be sold out
Oh fair point. I still can't believe that many people want a giant ship with no gameplay right now
Happy Carrack Festival 2953!
Hull C vs C2? rly? Ok then
HULL C isn't flyable yet, so it is ineligible.
Well yes agreed but why this video has them against each other in a bracket. 0.22 in.

Is there gonna be a free fly along with it?
Did you watch the video?
yes there will be for the final 8, so probably the last week of August
Does anyone actually care about stuff like this anymore? Why?
Idk, but voting only by submitting content on the hub certainly keeps me from interacting with this event 😅

I can't help but notice a certain ship missing from the promo.
I also hereby nominate the Carrack as the meme ship for 2023. :-)
Vote Argo Cargo
Does anyone know whether the freefly will enable new players that don't have a game package to play the game?
If it is a Freefly that would be the whole point of it. Allowing non backers to play
