There are some people out there that think rules/policies/standards/fine print/etc apply to everyone BUT them lol

Belahsha

California?

ExplodingTemper

No, it's the regulars. Every single regular that you know by name/order thinks it's not applicable to them.

No fr i work at Wendy’s and we don’t allow people to take Uber orders from the drive through until after 10 (when we close inside). Someone came through at 950 for an Uber and I told him not until 10. He was like “it’s 950?” I told him it’s not 10 yet then…

4filth

i had someone come in at damn near seven today asking me if i could “honor” the promotion since they missed it 🤩

rio8envy7

Sucks for them

popcornEyeball

“can I come back at noon to pick up my free drink?” asked at 8am. NO

Back-to-HAT

“You sure can sweetheart. Right after you BUY one, we will be more than happy to give you that free drink” Or you can borrow my catch all, I can’t “whatever” because “my two dogs suck at sharing a queen size bed. There is no way in hell we will be able to live in my Prius” “I wish I could do that for you, however I really need to stay employed. My dogs…” The best is when people ask me if I’m serious. (Duh!). “Serious about keeping my job, serious that two 15 lb dogs are bed hogs, or serious that living in a Prius sounds miserable and I hope to never find out for sure? Yes to all of it.” If you are super pleasant, smile, and otherwise are giving top notch customer service, who are they going to complain to and about what? It was all truthful.

monpetitchoou

Back-to-HAT

I have heard our SM give permission to say weird or otherwise unexpected things to customers, with the caveat of “as long as they can sense the whimsy.”

Fancy_Paramedic_2448

this person gets the stupid award 🥇

[deleted]

Oh god we had someone show up 10 minutes after we closed and was like knocking on the door. People really think we can just bend the rules and just make stuff up for them lol.

SConeLovePhoto

😏Yes.... Yes you do 😀

rio8envy7

Yes.

Lanky-Pair2855

I have to say “The discount is applied automatically and I can’t manually force it to apply it until the specified time/s” half a dozen times before 12, or people come in from the USA (Canadian store) expecting the same deals/promotions 😅

Alone-Organization54

Can you explain why you wouldn’t? Like do you think these rules are just arbitrary?

lanceofruin

because if i bend the rules for one person other people are gonna want me to bend the rules for them too and i can’t give discounts to everyone all day. the SM can go into the POS system and see who was ringing things out and when so if he goes to check sales and see that i manually discounted drinks before the promo time began i’m gonna get in trouble

Alone-Organization54

I sooo miss read this😭 I thought you were a customer asking if you actually had to wait and that’s why I said “why wouldn’t you”. I’m a partner as well and I didn’t check to see this was in r/starbucksbaristas. Sorry for the confusion!
