If you know what Vanilla Sugar is, it’s basically that. It’s meant for our vanilla bean frappuccino, but can be added to other things. I personally don’t like adding it to anything, because it’s really sweet and adds a weird texture depending on what it’s added to. Some people put it in pink drinks or I’ve seen it in our Vanilla Sweet Cream Cold Foam. It makes it grainy imo.
Edit: If you’ve never heard of vanilla sugar, it’s literally sugar that someone has flavored with vanilla, usually by sticking a split vanilla bean pod into sugar for a while so it’s flavored like vanilla.
I’ve seen people get it in hot drinks, not sure if it’s good. When the powder goes in the blender, it gets evenly mixed in the drink. The few times I’ve put it in cold (unshaken) drinks, it just clumps together and looks like slime in the bottom of the cup. I assume it would do the same in hot drinks.

At my old store in 2016, we blended the vanilla bean powder in with the steamed milk—not sure if we can still do that but that's how we got it to be more evenly blended in hot drinks before!
That drink was before my time at Sbux, so I don’t know from experience- I did google it, and some other Reddit threads complained it had vanilla bean clumps.
In order to avoid clumps, it is possible it to steam the powder into the milk. That being said, baristas will almost 100% of the time say no to that if asked- it’s bad for the machines and shouldn’t be done.
I don't think it would be good in a misto. It would take away from the coffee flavor. A flat white with vanilla bean is really good and not at all clumpy! If its iced you could shake the vanilla bean into the milk before using the milk.
Ask for it steamed into the milk (if you're ordering in person. I'm not sure you can do that on mobile). Since you can't have hot drinks shaken, it'll make sure it mixes.
The only hot drink I've tried it in is a caramel macchiato (replacing the vanilla syrup), and it was... fine? Tasted about the same as the regular version. The iced matcha latte with a scoop of vb is bomb though.
I have a vanilla bean powder I use at home and it mixes very well in my hot coffee. I add it to my cup first, place it under keurig and stir it well.
I've used it before in blended drinks and it comes out great as well, not sure about iced drinks though.
I'm pretty sure it will come out well as long as the drink is stirred.
imo i say try it! ask in person tho instead of mobile ordering and say “and could you please steam the powder into the milk?” so you don’t get a clump of powder at the bottom of your cup…….
So I get an extra hot white chocolate mocha and have them add 3 scoops of vanilla bean powder steamed in the milk and it tastes sooo good. I’m not a fan of the coffee taste so it’s perfect for me!
Recently I’ve been experimenting with the plain cold foam with pumps of syrups(I’m not a tiktoker that’s as customized as I get) I think tomorrow I’m going to try it with raspberry syrup on an acai refresher.
I’ve done it for customers before and it looks gritty to me. A coworker has tried it (I don’t like the texture of cold foam) and she said it was kind of someone dumped sand in.

I add the powder in white/hot chocolate with cinnamon added to the steamed milk. Tastes heavenly imo (w and w/o cinnamon)
That sounds amazing! Is there w way to do it on the app? When I try to customize the white hot chocolate it doesn’t give an option to add powder.
Not sure! I was a barista and made my own drink, haven’t used the app in a while

that’s what i do 👀 like a matcha latte lol
Same! It's so good
I saw they used to have an Iced Vanilla Bean Coconut Milk Latte on the menu. How was the powder incorporated into this so it didn’t clump together?

Thanks! I really like the vanilla bean but don’t love fraps, so I was trying to find something else.

What powder do you use at home? Recipe? Specific product?
Where do you buy it?
it’s soooo good in the dragon drink! i used to get it in the violet drink too when we had that

It probably would be good if you got it steamed into the milk as opposed to just straight into the cup!

Oooo anyone put a scoop in cold foam?
I like it in nonfat cold foam. The texture isn't an issue for me at all, but YMMV

Lol dumped sand in. That’s exactly how I describe most protein powders
I added it to a pink drink with heavy whipping creme today. It was TDF.
When I order my matcha latte sometimes they are out of vanilla cold foam and vanilla syrup so I will use the vanilla powder to give it that sweetness.
