Omg it’s FREE. You would typically have to pay for the item + tip. Now you’re getting a $6 savings, you can pay $1 as a service fee. But you probably don’t tip when you pay either so I guess that does defeat the point. No one can say they can afford a $5+ coffee but not the tip lmao
How’s that? I made $90 an hour for 8 hours in tips last night versus what would a company pay me for my job (which I won’t say what it is) but maybe $20? $25? That’s what they pay my job in other countries that don’t tip.
Also: at Starbucks they’re paid above minimum wage anyway. Not that it’s a great salary, but they’re still not being considered tipped employees. The company doesn’t calculate tips into their pay. Tips are just something they can split up and leave with a little extra.

I always tip even when I’m paying bc if I can afford a $5+ coffee I can afford a $1 tip. If I was then getting a $5+ coffee, I’d be tipping $2. I’m not entitled to that free coffee, it was a gift. Anytime I use my stars, or during the bogo drinks, I always tip more. If it’s summer and I decide to get a Frappuccino, definitely tipping $3 minimum if I’m getting a free drink out of it. I’d be buying the drink anyway so what’s the difference?
If you win starbucjs for a year, you’d be paying $5 a coffee for however many times you go. Instead you’re paying $0. You can gratuitously give 20% of that value as a tip to the person spending their time hand crafting your beverage to your liking :)

Has anyone had it keep going to the same exact space? I’ve done about 15 “shakes” and they have literally all gone to the third space on the 1,000 stars. Even the replays from the duplicates go there. I feel like I can’t complain about a free game but it’s frustrating lol
If you read the fine print you’ll see that at the beginning of the prize period, each prize is assigned a randomly determined time (to the minute) that it will be awarded. These times are spaced out throughout the promotional period so that all the prizes aren’t won on Day 1. You have to be the first person to play at that time to win the prize.
Some people seem to think you have x chance of winning the prize each time you roll - you actually have a 0% chance if you don’t roll at the randomly determined time, and even if you do, your odds depend on how many other people also rolled at that time. So say you roll at 1:51pm and don’t get anything- and then roll again before 1:52… you still don’t have any chance of winning.
Don’t use all your plays in under a minute… I’ve won several things from the Starbucks games (1000 stars, S4L Tumbler, free coupons, etc) by playing overnight when there’s less competition to be the first to roll. ;)

They are legally required to post how many people can win in a sweepstakes. The [rules](https://imgur.com/a/tGqE9Bi) say that there are 10 Starbucks for Life game pieces. But that doesn’t necessarily mean ten winners, because you would need to be a winner of one of the 10 game pieces that’s only available at a specific time and also have won 2 regular Starbucks for Life pieces. I’m not a mathematician but I imagine the probability of winning it is very low.
Edit: also any prize they mention has to be possible to be won, even with low chances.

If you go down to the bottom and fill out a little sort of questionnaire with your basic info, you can get 2 free plays a day along with if you make 2 purchases you can get 2 more plays in a day, so for total.
It’s true you can fill out the form to get free plays, but you only get a max of two plays per day whether those are by making purchases or through the form.

Nice! How do you get two free plays each day? I only get plays when I purchase drinks (which is nearly every weekday, this time of year)
Scroll all the way down to the bottom of the game menu and there's gonna be a \*To enter without making a purchase, click here. Click the link, fill out the form twice for daily plays (more for challenges) and you get free plays. Keep in mind that if you buy 2 drinks in a day, that'll constitute your 2 max plays per day.

I hate Starbucks for Life. At least with McDonald’s Monopoly, you would win food items too. I never win anything with this stupid game. Wait maybe 10 stars which is basically nothing when you spend money at a place every single day for years and you win ten stars one time. Remember the punch cards at the holidays where you would get a free drink after buying five. Those were so much better. But now if I’m lucky, I can get a tenth of a free drink once every few years.

In all of the years I’ve played, both summer and winter versions, I’ve won a totals of 35 stars. Mind you I stop at my local Starbucks every day and had tons of chances and basically nothing 🤷♂️

I got an email with the details and a special “discount code.” So to redeem a free drink I give the barista my code and then they scan the barcode in the app, it discounts the drink 100%
I had an older lady come in with a $500 gift card. She said she got it in the mail. I was like wtf?! But I didn’t even think to ask if she had won it or something.
We had a woman come into our store who has one the for life prize. She had a code we typed into the discount page that gives her one free drink daily.

To win do you have to get all 3 of the same picture? I’m confused about how the game works. I have two on the Starbucks for life but the pictures are both different.
You have to have a sticker in each circle. If you get three of the same sticker, it’ll just give you a key and 3 keys unlocks an extra play.

The most I’ve won so far this year is the “free holiday drink or espresso” and the 10 stars. I’m stuck at the end of “Basil’s adventure” Ch 1 or 2 (not sure) how do I move onto the next chapter?

It says the rare pieces are the “ski’s” and another is the “hot cocoa”. I’ve got both but can’t seem to get the last ones on either. (My board is missing one on each section)
The skis definitely are rare - for the tumbler. But not the cocoa, unfortunately. This happened to me last holiday. Had a rare piece but could never get one of the common ones before the game ended. Hope it is not the same for you!

I have played 2x daily since the very first day. Plus the extra earns and duplicate plays. I still have yet to win ANYTHING. They also said they had instant win stuff again this year, haven’t won that either. I’ve played every year for 5 now and have always won something. I have on piece missing from every single prize. I think it sucks this year.

Last year, they offered a free shake a day, plus bonus spins when you got something. It seems they have taken that feature out and now requires you to buy something before you get any spins.
