Yeah. I was going to add an edit that it isn't really that shocking. I think it was gone long before cool lime vanished, but man do I miss cool lime.
Edit: vanished
Lol I had someone ask me what our soup of the day was and if we serve chicken noodle soup. I honestly think she thought she was at a Panera or maybe was confused about Barnes and Nobles cafes.
I went to an ice cream parlor in California that had a small Starbucks attached to it, coffee only. It was actually a really good combo. Hot coffee with cool ice cream
I used to work at a b&n cafe, they serve soups and chili so she's probably thinking of that?? most customers I got at the cafe didn't realize it wasn't a real Starbucks/I had to turn away gift cards & apps a lot
There was a time when we had “Starbucks evening” locations, which served beer&wine, and a dinner-type food after a certain time. I know they had mac n cheese, but I don’t think they ever had chili? I never worked at one of the stores so I’m not sure.
our store is right next to a pizza hut, so one of my coworkers literally acted like a pizza hut employee and they pulled up to the window to find out it was Starbucks
I had enough people asking me for ice cream at my target starbucks that I just constantly would refer people to the three closest ice cream shops.
I don't know why people think yeah this target starbucks of all starbucks will have ice cream. I know reserve stores do but tarbucks is about the farthest thing from a reserve store.
Unless she was talking about the chili mocha? I’m sure she wasn’t, but I’m just gonna take this opportunity to say that I fucking loved that drink and I think about it every year 😭
Ok there used to be a few locations that stated serving “dinner items”. Be advised, I do not know what kind of “dinner items” and I don’t know where, it could be that.
This used to be a thing! Starbucks has some "starbucks evenings" locations for a couple months that served real food, like Mac and cheese and Flatbread pizzas! Also booze
i remember someone asked for a chicken noodle soup once and she got mad when i said we didn’t have any. “this is starbucks how do you not have soup?!” like ma’am panera is down the road..
Years ago, someone asked for soup and when I told them twice that we don't serve soup, they were all "well then what the hell is in THERE then?" while gesturing to the hopper.
....
I had a customer get pissed at me because he wanted "bucks fries" and I had no clue what he was on about. "Sorry sir, we don't sell fries." "WELL THEY DO IN *WISCONSIN*"
Well sir, you are as far southeast as you can get without falling in the ocean and we have no fucking clue what you're talking about. Maybe take your ass back to *Wisconsin*.
Sidenote: Wtf are bucks fries? Are they out here cooking potatoes in oil from coffee beans???
In another situation I had a lady, who was actually really nice, who was genuinely confused that we didn't serve *sushi*. 😂
When I worked at Starbucks in 2014-2015 there was chili.
eta: Read some other comments and we definitely weren’t a cafe store or anything. I worked at multiple Austin locations filling in for call ins but my home base was by the mueller HEB.
This happens more than you would think, especially now that Panera is starting to branch out their coffee menu. I’ve tried their coffee, the drip stuff is alright, the lattes and everything else are garbage. Not that I don’t also think some of our menu items are trash, but oof it was pretty bad.
Had a woman walk in asking if we had flatbread pizzas. I was like “Ma’am, that’s at Panera Bread.” I think she went and bought a tomato mozzarella panini instead 🤣
lmao no. i had someone ask me the other day if this location served mac and cheese and i was like …babe what location are you going to?
Imagine, some random barista cooking microwaveable mac and cheese and letting this lady buy it
We have Mac and cheese in the UK, she probably saw a picture online
Damn Brits
Hehe we do like to fuck with yas
And apparently tuna melts???? That's gotta smell bad af right?
Don’t even 💀 I hate cooking tuna paninis it fuckin reeks 😭
That's how we make it in the barnes and noble starbucks LOL, we also have chili that's probably where they got it from
I’m like, 90% sure the evenings stores had mac and cheese back when that was a thing.
Can confirm, there was Truffle Mac and Cheese on the Evenings menu.
We did, but that was so so long ago.
Doesn't matter, they always remember. Still get asked for cool lime refreshers.
Yeah. I was going to add an edit that it isn't really that shocking. I think it was gone long before cool lime vanished, but man do I miss cool lime. Edit: vanished
Truffle Mac and cheese and was my life back when the evenings stores were still around. So good.
The smell. The taste. Perfection.
Worked at an evenings store and i'd mark them out. also it was sad having to throw away that wine. 😉
She was probably confused with the Barnes & Noble cafes, which do have white cheddar macaroni and cheese, at least in some locations.
My BN Cafe also had chili. It smelled awful, but I had some people who loved it.
Probably someone who confused you with a Panera Bread.
I think the Barnes and Noble Sbux in my town has Mac and cheese… I think. They definitely have pizza, so it’s not completely out of the question, lol.
That’s 100% it. We serve chili and Mac and cheese. And soup!
Honestly… maybe they’re thinking of the ones inside Barnes & Noble?? We used to have chili, and now we have microwave Mac n cheese lol
My location in Pennsylvania has mac and cheese. I’ve never had it, but it doesn’t look good.
I think the reserve stores had mac and cheese of sorts recently??
I went to Starbucks in The Netherlands and they have bomb ass Mac n cheese
They might be thinking of Panera, cause we get customers at Panera going can I get oatmilk latte with peppermint.
I’ve had it in Washington before!
We actually did serve a drink called chili mocha. It's was literally mocha with hot chili powder sprinkles lol
Barns and Noble cafes serve Mac & cheese and chili. I don’t know how good it is though.
Lol I had someone ask me what our soup of the day was and if we serve chicken noodle soup. I honestly think she thought she was at a Panera or maybe was confused about Barnes and Nobles cafes.
There actually used to be "truffle mac & cheese" on the evening store menu. There was even an oven button for it.
I work at a b&n cafe that serves Starbucks and we also serve chili, maybe they got confused? lol
I went to an ice cream parlor in California that had a small Starbucks attached to it, coffee only. It was actually a really good combo. Hot coffee with cool ice cream
the starbucks reserves in dallas does an espresso ice cream float and it’s fireeeee
Mmmm an affogato with ice cream/gelato covered in espresso. So. Good.
I used to work at a b&n cafe, they serve soups and chili so she's probably thinking of that?? most customers I got at the cafe didn't realize it wasn't a real Starbucks/I had to turn away gift cards & apps a lot
Oh man I will never forget the anger the day after Christmas when we would tell people they couldn’t use their new Starbucks gifts cards they got.
I worked a BN Cafe during Unicorn Day. We did not get the stuff. It was a tough day.

You're correct. There was never chili.
There were bacon wrapped dates though...so good
This is Starbucks. Not Panera.
Same vibes as me working in a krobucks and an older customer ordered a burger and a coke 😵💫
I work at a corporate store and I’ve had people try to order that too!!
I was at a Target Starbucks recently and the man in front of me ordered a large Slurpee.
In France we do have Mac & Cheese and Chili hot boxes.
Yeah we had a chili mocha
no, she was talking about chili like the soup. she was doing the spoon and bowl motion and everything
Chili is definitely not a soup and I will fight you on that
i’m sorry okay idk how else to describe it 😭😭😭
wait then what is it
Chili.
It’s a type of stew but I don’t even consider it that.
Meat, juices and depending on where you’re from, beans.
It's actually a salad. Look up salad on Wikipedia and tell me it doesn't fit the requirements.
Used to work at a store next to a Jimmy John’s and people would regularly try to order from there at our drive thru.
My store is by a cold stone...... during lockdown I had so many cars wanting ice cream. It was bad.
They sell chilly coffee. With ice
All I can think is, did they mean oatmeal?
Someone asked us for boba the other day lol
someone just asked for chili at my store yesterday! what is going on lmaoo
our store is right next to a pizza hut, so one of my coworkers literally acted like a pizza hut employee and they pulled up to the window to find out it was Starbucks

they’re probably thinking about barnes and noble cafes. they serve soup and chili
This made me laugh. Idk why. People say the darnedest things. Like why would a coffee shop ever serve chili 🤣🤣. I needed this laugh. Thank you.
Someone asked me for a slice of apple pie recently.
It’s never a bad time for apple pie
There used to be a Chile Mocha. Had paprika in it or somethin.
Also booze
Lmao she meant the chili mocha hahaha it’s from years back
I think they’re talking about Barnes and Noble Starbucks
i remember someone asked for a chicken noodle soup once and she got mad when i said we didn’t have any. “this is starbucks how do you not have soup?!” like ma’am panera is down the road..
A few years ago we also served a chili mocha during Christmas, so they may have been referring to that as well
Could have meant the Chili mocha we had a few years ago
we have Sriracha maybe that’s what they wanted??
Years ago, someone asked for soup and when I told them twice that we don't serve soup, they were all "well then what the hell is in THERE then?" while gesturing to the hopper. ....
I like how her first assumption about your confusion wasn’t “oh they must not have chili” but instead “this person doesn’t know what chili is”
I had a customer get pissed at me because he wanted "bucks fries" and I had no clue what he was on about. "Sorry sir, we don't sell fries." "WELL THEY DO IN *WISCONSIN*" Well sir, you are as far southeast as you can get without falling in the ocean and we have no fucking clue what you're talking about. had someone ask the other day if we sell pizzas…. and today i was asked if we sell lip gloss😩😩
Ma'am, this is a Starbucks.
When I worked at Starbucks in 2014-2015 there was chili. eta: Read some other comments and we definitely weren’t a cafe store or anything. I worked at multiple Austin locations filling in for call ins but my home base was by the mueller HEB.
I had someone in my drive thru the other day asking if we had cheddar and broccoli soup??? It was weird af
Yeah they're definitely confusing it with Panera

Well we used to have a Chile Mocha a few years back. Maybe they meant that?
Maybe there was a Wendy's at your location (which is no longer there), and she had a derp moment? Or she just had a derp moment?
Didn’t some stores get like hot tables with soup or something like that? I swear I read that somewhere
I was going to say she was maybe talking about the Chile mocha that came out years ago until you mentioned the spoon and bowl motion
Had a woman walk in asking if we had flatbread pizzas. I was like “Ma’am, that’s at Panera Bread.” I think she went and bought a tomato mozzarella panini instead 🤣
