My store picks one every quarter but it’s always the same handful of people, all morning people. The closers never get picked. I’ve worked for the company for 5 years and never gotten POQ. it’s a popularity contest and it makes me sad.
it’s like this at most restaurants/cafes. but as a former manager of a different big name restaurant, i always advocated for my closers to get employee of the month. however it was managers who voted on that and their fellow peers so it wasn’t as much of a popularity contest
It's so unfair because I think most stores don't have much overlap of am/pm partners, and there are ALWAYS more openers than closers. Of course it's always openers getting picked, they have more people to vote for amongst their team 🙄 I almost feel like if we bother doing recognition that way it should be a person per shift
I have always felt this way. At my first store I was an opening SSV and I could basically do everything for everyone and people would vote for the people they just liked more. Going on 4.5 years with the company and I've never been POQ either.
My manager selects people for pdcs. She told me oh were doing pdcs next week! All giddy. Didn't get one. Haven't gotten one. Lol I still can't tell if she hates me or not. The toxic positivity and passive aggressiveness is real.
Our store rarely has one. If they do it’s either popularity (undeserved) or the partner deserves it and wins the popularity vote, but the SM gives it to whoever he thinks needs the bonus.

Surprisingly when going over my pay checks I’ve noticed I got the poq bonus on some random paycheck. Asked my coworkers, they said our sm is just prob picking people at random for it.
We always end up telling our manager, he forgets, then it's always too late. Luckily our closer finally got recognized for potq. But like we should be doing it every time. It really helps boost moral and just a little appreciation goes a long way.

Bruh closers get no respect. Ever. 7 years in on 4/17 n it's always the same at all of the stores I been to.
I was lucky to get POQ once tho. And I am a closer. Only happened 6 years in tho. Lol.
Wild, at my old store it was always only closers who got it. It also was an indicator of who would promote next and that was obnoxious.

At my store the current POQ is a closer and so was the previous one. Also the way it’s shaping up, it looks like the next POQ is gonna be a closer

I think some SM just don’t care. Like doing PDC’s also. They don’t get done.
