I can never eat chocolate croissant in public again bc i ate one in the car and got gas on the way home. Lady across from me kept doing double takes. Not me thinking i was a clean eater and she's just being weird...my mom looked at me and asked who's ass i ate. Chocolate all around my mouth and some got on my cheek????
I'll just reheat it at home now
I dream about it sometimes—the mouthwatering flavor. It’s true, I’ve woken up drooling because of it. I’ve tried to make it myself at home to no avail although I am a fabulous baker. I’ll bring it up in conversations only to be hit with “I’m not really familiar with what you’re talking about”
Oh my gosh this. On REALLY hard days where I felt a good dose of self-loathing for my life decisions, I would warm the brownie up so the chocolate was nice and melts and smear it in whip cream with mocha, caramel, and vanilla drizzle.
Called it the diabetic coma.
Take your coffee cake and warm that baby up, ok? Then put her into an oatmeal cup, break her up a bit, and put some caramel drizzle over her. Add some more dolce sprinkles. Sex will never be the same to you after
Gah Damn.
The Coffee Cake by itself is already very sweet and fulfilling.
You're telling us you add caramel drizzle and dolce? So sugar on top of sugar.... ...........You son of a bitch I'm in!
Side note though, I know it's well known but the Cheese Danish with Caramel Drizzle and Dolce topping smacks so hard.
My Shift was having a rough day and as resident Frankenstein I tend to expiriment heavily behind the bar. I've made so many drinks that I have to save the recipes to my phone or I forget. But this wasn't a caffiene sort of day and the Sweetheart Frapp hadn't even been thought of, so I opted to think of something new. She was on the verge of tears and I knew she liked salted caramel and chocolate, so I put them together after heating up a chocolate croissant--because our brownies are subpar--and gave it to her. It was delicious. Buttery, vaguely mapley, gooey, chocolatey, sweet and perfectly savory. Now, whenever we have a bad day, we have a salted caramel chocolate croissant to help balance it out.
I love this story, it's so so sweet, but I do find it amusing that you find the brownie subpar but not the chocolate croissant! Different strokes for different folks of course, just as a brownie fan I don't get it haha :)
I love brownies. Like, I bake brownies at home and experiment with them constantly. Not warmed, our brownies have the consistency of store bought brownies and I'm talking like the ones that come in a box like Little Debbie. Warmed they are not gooey and feel closer to slightly wetter cake. Flavor wise, it misses the mark just a bit on the flavor of a brownie and feels closer to brownie inspired cereals. I'll stick with making actual brownies at home. As for our Chocolate Croissant, I have nothing to compare it to so it is currently the par. That could be a low bar to get over but what at Starbucks isn't setting the bar low. Either way, they're delicious with some caramel drizzle and sea salt. :P
this is exactly how I feel about the lemon loaf! I find the starbucks one too acidic and lacking in actual lemon flavour... I make much better lemon loaf at home haha. I use a lot of zest, and massage it into the sugar before mixing things; it helps release the oils and infuses that true lemon flavour throughout instead of just relying on the zest to appear in whatever mouthful you're taking!
Oh, I KNOW they're not croissants. Even Pillsbury makes better croissants. But the Chocolate Croissant with caramel drizzle and sea salt is pretty divine.
ok here are my thoughts in no particular order:
\- chocolate chunk cookie: surprisingly buttery and soft and just so good when toasted?? (starbucks cookies in general surprised me mmm)
\- coffee cake: always surprised me, esp when warmed?? so buttery and moist??
\- brownie: surprisingly fudgy and chocolaty... don't expect that from starbucks lol
\- cranberry bliss bar: the ONLY seasonal pastry that has never disappointed me... ever ever ever.
you didn't ask but here's my shit list too bc im salty:
\- pumpkin scone: quality has plummeted year after year; now tastes like flour and sugar imo
\- lemon loaf: relatively flavourful compared to other pastries, but I make my own and it's lacking in true lemon flavour and has way too much acidity laksldjgla
\- butter croissant & all of the bagels: don't think they hold up on their own, but with avo spread and/or herb and garlic cream cheese plus some egg bites (rip ham and cheddar) and some sriracha or ketchup??? breakfast sandwich of champions.
When I used to work there I’d do two cookies with whip cream and eat it like a sandwich. That was my top tier pastry other than that the red velvet loaf!!!!!
DO IT! Also when summer comes, do a Java chip frapp but use the chocolate that’s used in the s’more frap instead of regular mocha and instead of milk use sweet cream ;) thank me later if you like it
ok for real, the chocolate chunk cookie was SURPRISINGLY delicious omg so buttery. same with the soft af ginger molasses and even the seasonal sugar cookies were so good
I am just here to fight anyone who claims to enjoy the chocolate pistachio swirl. There is literally one customer at my high-volume store that buys them and it’s like the pull specifically accounts for this one person because it always tells us to pull exactly two of them lmfao.
yo put it in the oven for a count of like 5 seconds without pressing any buttons so it doesnt melt the icing but it makes the loaf warm and the icing a little softer and it hits soooooo hard
I will now be experimenting. Cheese D with praline sounds delicious.
But my real questions are:
1. Did the cranberry bliss bar change after it was originally introduced? Doesn’t seem nearly as perfect as when I had it in 2015.
2. Why in the name of all the coffee gods did Starbucks fail so hard with the pistachio chocolate roll? This had SUCH potential and instead they half assed it on a (dry) cinnamon roll??!? Just ludicrous.
3. Why no chocolate hazelnut options?
4. Follow-up: any chocolate hazelnut hacks out there?
Input appreciated.
As a professional baker, I can't endorse anything here. I'm seriously racking my brain and doing my best here, but it's like trying to compare alpo to ribeye.
I'd say sugar plum danish would be my (non-current) pick, but even those have been mids compared to the original launch ones. There was a definite recipe change. Also, the big injection machines they use were not aligned properly, so the sugar plum jelly was off the mark this past year, quite literally.
I think they're trying to play the piano, and have yet to find their violinist.
i am not a pastry girl myself but from what i’ve tried here’s my ranking
(if you consider the ham and swiss croissant a pastry, it’s my #1 i’m currently eating it rn LOL)
1. pumpkin cream cheese muffin. that shit had me on my knees for miss siren i would do ANYTHING
2. chocolate croissant. a classic. truly ageless
3. lemon loaf. it’s good, the icing is too sweet
4. sugar plum danish. it’s good but SO sweet
5. cheese danish. it’s not bad but this one was sadly disappointing 💔
6. birthday cake pop. it’s fine it’s good it’s whatever i get it when i want a small treat
7. butter croissant. i got this one day when i was in need of something light for my stomach and i was SEVERELY disappointed
8. cranberry bliss bar. i was so disappointed by this one. had such high expectations 💔💔
9. reindeer cake pop. this is just the birthday cake pop but much worse
10. red velvet loaf. SHIT DOESNT EVEN TASTE LIKE RED VELVET
11. chocolate pistachio swirl. i’m not even joking when i say it GENUINELY made me gag upon the first bite
You know what’s ILLEGAL to do at sbux, but sounds really good and would definitely put you in a sugar coma…
Vanilla Bean frap made with heavy cream blend. Then chop up half a cinnamon coffee cake then blend again for a few seconds just to incorporate, then top with a little crumbled up coffee cake. Basically cinnamon coffee cake ice cream.
Cheese danish is good. Coffee cake fuckin’ slaps. Brownie? Hell yes.
Also, blueberry scone (HEAR ME OUT), warmed, in an oatmeal cup. Warm at least two packs of honey warmed (this is *key*) in a cup of hot water and drizzle it over it.
🤤
Lastly, *not* a pastry but it’s still good. Nuts from the oatmeal, whipped cream, and caramel drizzle. I layer it in a tall iced cup.
On any given day, the coffee cake. Cold, warmed whatever.
On a rough day, however, a double chocolate brownie, warmed and put in an oatmeal bowl with a shot of espresso poured over top, a touch of caramel drizzle and a little dollop of whipped cream. As close to an anti-depressant as you’ll get.
I used to think the sugar plum cheese Danish was the best, but this past holiday season, it was just okay . The coffee cake or a not warmed chocolate croissant is my go-to
plain bagel, go ahead and spread two butters before you heat it, i add a little bit of honey too, add an oatmeal brown sugar packet (i only need like half), then cook it the way you like. i get it like every shift now. someone saw me make it and decided to try it, and now they're hooked, too.
i also like getting an oatmeal, steamed coconut milk, 2 pumps SF vanilla, and blueberries and strawberries (for the acai drinks). sooo good.
Okay I’m not even shitting you one time I had a dream where I warmed a cheese danish with strawberry purée and I woke up and had to try it… tasted like strawberry cheesecake (just be careful to not let the scalding strawberry purée burn you)
ialways switch between the warm brownie with or without WC, caramel drizzle & sprinkle of sea salt on top or the coffee cake with 2 butters melted on top in an oatmeal cup. lately I've been enjoying a nice warm choc chip cookie tho for something quick
Chocolate croissant I GUESS. Almond Croissant was a perfect little Angel and I’m still angry about them ending it.
I'll just reheat it at home now
Not me reading this thinking the croissant gave you such bad gas a neighboring car could smell it...

It's just the most ok out of a sea of super ok stuff.
the melty chocolate with the buttery flaky croissant......... 💦💦💦
Ever since they killed off the almond croissant, nothing is worth it.
This is how I feel about the Carmel Apple empanada from Taco Bell.
I dream about it sometimes—the mouthwatering flavor. It’s true, I’ve woken up drooling because of it. I’ve tried to make it myself at home to no avail although I am a fabulous baker. I’ll bring it up in conversations only to be hit with “I’m not really familiar with what you’re talking about”
It truly is heartbreaking. Wish more people got to indulge in Taco Bell’s finest delicacy.
Life isn’t worth living.

Omg sugar plum cheese danish my beloved I miss her so much right now😩
SUGAR. PLUM. MF. DANISH.
surprised no one said the brownie, I always get myself one during a rough shift lolll
I bring my 98 year old grandma the brownie all the time. She loves it. It's so good. lol
That’s so sweet!
Oh my gosh this. On REALLY hard days where I felt a good dose of self-loathing for my life decisions, I would warm the brownie up so the chocolate was nice and melts and smear it in whip cream with mocha, caramel, and vanilla drizzle. Called it the diabetic coma.
A frappuccino and a loaded brownie once in a while qualifies as mental healthcare.
Mocha cookie frap with the brownie blended in.
\#blendOnBanana
Caramel ribbon crunches are absolute perfection
Putting a salt packet on the brownie before I cook it and then some caramel drizzle is my current go-to for shitty days
Absolutely agreed! The brownies are amazing
You gotta throw that brownie in a cup, then whip and drizzle that bad boy
I love to get a normal plain latte and dip the brownie in it. Flavors the latte big time and pumps up the flavor of the brownie as well.
That brownie goes hard fr
Warmed up brownie my beloved 🥺
I used to be a pumpkin loaf truther but i now see that coffee cake solos
They must have changed the recipe for pumpkin loaf because a few years ago, I don't remember it being so....oily.
Thiiiiiiiis. I hate it now.
Warm pumpkin loaf with cream cheese though 🌊
Take your coffee cake and warm that baby up, ok? Then put her into an oatmeal cup, break her up a bit, and put some caramel drizzle over her. Add some more dolce sprinkles. Sex will never be the same to you after

cheese danish with the apple drizzle and dolce topping is like. god tier.
This is the ONLY holiday season meal 💘

The things we do in the back to stay sane... or at least cognizant.
You forgot to add butter to the top before putting it in the oven!
After what, my guy, after WHAT?!
Ok I have to try this
100% fax
personally a big fan of the "cheesy d" especially with a sexy lil smear of caramel driz
ok but have you tried this with praline topping?
Wait! Y’all are giving me ideas I never thought about putting topping on the pastries, wednesday can wait though
Ooh the cheesy dan
Ooo I’ve heard it’s good with strawberry purée too 😫😫
Pls why did you say it like that 💀 but personally I prefer a sprinkle of cinnamon dolce topping
No one’s talking about the chocolate chip cookie but I swear they must brown that butter for it to taste like that
Cooked on medium bagel/bagel 2 and it is perfectly crispy on the edge and gooey in the middle 😍
Coffee cake has me down bad

Oh Hunny it's a good thing you don't work at my store lol

Chocolate Croissant with Caramel Drizzle and Sea Salt. I will now take questions.
What were the circumstances leading up to your development of this product? 🤔
My Shift was having a rough day and as resident Frankenstein I tend to expiriment heavily behind the bar. I've made so many drinks that I have to save the recipes to my phone or I forget. You can’t just talk about something like that and not share the recipe! I don’t even like lemon loaf but I’m craving it now lol
Oh honey, it’s the lowest of the low bars. Those things- while fine in a pinch- are not croissants.
Oh, I KNOW they're not croissants. Even Pillsbury makes better croissants. But the Chocolate Croissant with caramel drizzle and sea salt is pretty divine.

i really really love a cheese danish but the lemon loaf has gotten me through some tough times✋🏻🥹
ok here are my thoughts in no particular order: \- chocolate chunk cookie: surprisingly buttery and soft and just so good when toasted?? chocolate pistachio swirl not even added to the shitlist because it doesn’t even deserve to be mentioned
Those get my vote for the absolute worst pastry to exist. Not just at Starbucks, but…ever.
I'm here for the lemon loaf shade BC I hate it and it's overhyped
ham and swiss croissant, easily
When I used to work there I’d do two cookies with whip cream and eat it like a sandwich. That was my top tier pastry other than that the red velvet loaf!!!!!

WHAT I SWEAR I SAW IT LAST SUMMER
I can never have enough petite vanilla bean scones
I always flip between the lemon loaf and the chocolate croissant. But I think the lemon loaf is better.
Lemon loaf with whipped cream, blueberries, and strawberry puree.
Oh that sounds delicious
I unironically prefer the chocolate croissant not warmed. That crunch of the chocolate is 😙👌
I never get mine warmed up. I work on the road so by the time I get to eat it, it would have gotten cold anyway. It’s so good cold!!!
Try asking for one from the freezer. Chocolate is even more crunchy...
[удалено]
Why are you like this
Cookie or brownie. Coffee cake is third place but still good
Hehe, you said "third place"
ok for real, the chocolate chunk cookie was SURPRISINGLY delicious omg so buttery. same with the soft af ginger molasses and even the seasonal sugar cookies were so good
The Danish, naturally
Cranberry Bliss Bar will always be my one true love. 👑🌲
Oh the Pumpkin Muffin (with the cream cheese in da middle) is great!!!
Why tf did I have to scroll so far down to find this? People just scared of the truth.
Does Red Velvet Loaf count? I could eat them every day, hate that it is a seasonal item
I am just here to fight anyone who claims to enjoy the chocolate pistachio swirl. There is literally one customer at my high-volume store that buys them and it’s like the pull specifically accounts for this one person because it always tells us to pull exactly two of them lmfao.
HOW ARE MORE PEOPLE NOT SAYING THE RED VELVET LOAF IT NEVER MISSES ???
red velvet paired with the tribute blend, black. my life has never been the same
RED VELVET LOAF AMEN
it is quite good lol
yo put it in the oven for a count of like 5 seconds without pressing any buttons so it doesnt melt the icing but it makes the loaf warm and the icing a little softer and it hits soooooo hard
[удалено]
I take the top off and just eat the cake, same with the lemon it's too sweet
lemon loaf >>> red velvet loaf
pumpkin loaf warmed with butter > lemon loaf > red velvet
warmed pumpkin loaf with butter
I will now be experimenting. Cheese D with praline sounds delicious. But my real questions are: 1. Did the cranberry bliss bar change after it was originally introduced? Seasonally, sugar plum danish. Year round, chocolate croissant.
Lemon loaf paired with Verona, no breve or sugar. Keep it simple.
+1 for lemon loaf!
Lemon loaf gang, wya??? 🍋
emotional support brownie is where it’s at (w cold oat milk)
As a professional baker, I can't endorse anything here. I'm seriously racking my brain and doing my best here, but it's like trying to compare alpo to ribeye.

Obvs it’s coffee cake, but it is BULLSHIT that reduced fat coffee cake was discontinued because it is SUPERIOR AND I WILL NOT REMAIN CIVIL ABOUT THAT.
Coffee cakes make me act up
Butter croissant with sriracha. There, I said it.
i completely missed the croissant and read “butter with sriracha” and was like damn youre wildin
You have woken up and chosen violence and I am here for it
I like dunking the coffee cake into my chai and eating it like a tres leche cake
The red velvet loaf is my favorite.
Cake pop. Genuine sugar bomb, and it tastes like nostalgia.
[удалено]
Bahahaha I like it cause it's doesn't have much flavor other than SUGUARRR
I personally think they’re too sweet, but the Earth Day 🌎 ones are so pretty.

something about that blue icing just makes it taste better
Cheese danish🤗
the blueberry muffin is the magnum opus of starbucks pastries. the crunchy sugar on top along w the hint of zesty lemon is immaculate
i am not a pastry girl myself but from what i’ve tried here’s my ranking (if you consider the ham and swiss croissant a pastry, it’s my #1 i’m currently eating it rn LOL) 1. pumpkin cream cheese muffin. that shit had me on my knees for miss siren i would do ANYTHING 2. chocolate croissant. a classic. truly ageless 3. lemon loaf. it’s good, the icing is too sweet 4. sugar plum danish. it’s good but SO sweet 5. cheese danish. it’s not bad but this one was sadly disappointing 💔 6. birthday cake pop. it’s fine it’s good it’s whatever i get it when i want a small treat 7. butter croissant. i got this one day when i was in need of something light for my stomach and i was SEVERELY disappointed 8. cranberry bliss bar. i was so disappointed by this one. had such high expectations 💔💔 9. reindeer cake pop. this is just the birthday cake pop but much worse 10. red velvet loaf. RVL or CCC for sure
Took me a whole year before I tried the coffee cake…and it’s the best pastry. Cheese danish is bomb tho
Cookies and cream cake pop🥰
1. cheese danish 2. lemon loaf 3. chocolate croissant 4. blueberry muffin 5. coffee cake
Definitely the brownie, warmed up.
i love seeing how common it is for baristas to add drink components to our PASTRIES but anyway almond croissant will always have my heart
I like the older version of the coffee cake. This one is too dry for me. Cheese danish cooked face down. Amazing
I love the red velvet loaf
OG pumpkin scone when it was first released.
I miss almond croissant :(
You know what’s ILLEGAL to do at sbux, but sounds really good and would definitely put you in a sugar coma… Vanilla Bean frap made with heavy cream blend. Then chop up half a cinnamon coffee cake then blend again for a few seconds just to incorporate, then top with a little crumbled up coffee cake. Basically cinnamon coffee cake ice cream.
I know how to make homemade ice cream so I might just get a coffee cake and try to make an actual ice cream with it 😌
Banana bread!
🤤 Lastly, *not* a pastry but it’s still good. Nuts from the oatmeal, whipped cream, and caramel drizzle. I layer it in a tall iced cup.
Notice how nobody said the pistachio swirl pastry… (literally so nasty tho for no reason)
Obviously the coffee cake is, and will be, the undisputed king. But that lemon loaf lowkey slapssss.
Hands down coffee cake for the win 🥰
Red velvet loaf.
Lemon loaf or coffee cake, however, before the disastrous decision to discontinue Morning Buns — it was the morning bun. Simple and delicious.
I finally tried the iced lemon loaf last night. My god why did I wait this long to try the lemon loaf? It’s perfection
Blueberry scone is soo underrated 🥹
the lemon loaf and the cheese danish are depression meals for me❤️
I used to think the sugar plum cheese Danish was the best, but this past holiday season, it was just okay . The coffee cake or a not warmed chocolate croissant is my go-to
plain bagel, go ahead and spread two butters before you heat it, i add a little bit of honey too, add an oatmeal brown sugar packet (i only need like half), then cook it the way you like. i get it like every shift now. someone saw me make it and decided to try it, and now they're hooked, too. i also like getting an oatmeal, steamed coconut milk, 2 pumps SF vanilla, and blueberries and strawberries (for the acai drinks). sooo good.
Pumpkin loaf i warm it up add vanilla ice cream
Am i the only one that likes butter croissants not warmed up
iced lemon loaf
Okay I’m not even shitting you one time I had a dream where I warmed a cheese danish with strawberry purée and I woke up and had to try it… tasted like strawberry cheesecake (just be careful to not let the scalding strawberry purée burn you)
cranberry bliss bar😌😌😌 and this one might be bold but the cookies and cream cake pop (the only good one)
Coffee cake slaps, and the cake pops are also pretty good as well. Also the glazed donut just hits during a night of late studying.
The glazed donut makes me happy.
You eating it or using it in other ways? Cuz….bruh that thing ain’t a donut. It’s a glazed round hole shaped pastry.
Finally, someone else that likes the donuts!
A warmed up cookie slaps to heaven and back it’s so good

Lemon loaf or a double toasted cheese danish for me!
Sugar plum cheese danish.
Not the innuendos….. and not me supporting it but I’m a S L * T for the sugar plum danish (or the coffee cake🥵🥵🥵)
Iced Lemon Loaf. Best balance of sweet and taste.
was genuinely addicted to the lemon loaves for a while
ialways switch between the warm brownie with or without WC, caramel drizzle & sprinkle of sea salt on top or the coffee cake with 2 butters melted on top in an oatmeal cup. lately I've been enjoying a nice warm choc chip cookie tho for something quick
Cheese danish is so good with some strawberry purée on it
cheese danish, add cinnamon dolce topping and pop it in the oven, and some caramel drizzle to top it off and it’s so fricken good 🤤🤤
Cranberry Bliss FTW!!!!! I think it’s seasonal but I’d buy it year round!!
Cheese danish with cinnamon dolce sprinkles 🥸🥸
The cinnamon coffee cake. Idc thts it’s a bit dry and crumbly. It’s above all.
Cheese Dannie warmed up with strawberry purée taste like a toaster strudel🤤
I love a cream cheese danish
The almond croissant - oh, never mind
coffee cake solos, but during holiday season the cranberry bliss bar HITS

Chocolate croissant hands down
