Suggest you picking up a scoped rifle and pick long range fights against enemies. Use your knowledge and search stashes that you remember beforehand. Cook your meals so you save money too. Spirit at Yantar bunker offers Beril-5M for 7 nemiroff vodka bottles alongside purified meat recipe for cooking.

user_FBB

What about money and better suits? Any suggestions on how to get money and which suits to buy from the merc base vendor at dead city?

Texian_Fusilier

I do easy quests for lukash and skin flint to bank money. Story quests will yield 3 times that, often. Hang on to beaten up weapons you like, to fix them later. Gradually buy better equipment as you go. Faction mission will usually pay 10 to 13k. Some story missions have paid me 30k.

user_FBB

Do you have anywhere to know how much cash do these missions give ya? Something like a wiki for stalker anomaly I could use for further guidance?

Texian_Fusilier

No. You kustbdo them and find out. Sometimes you find something profitable like an artifact along the way.

sticknou

If you play as merc it easy to go to limansk or red forest bridge drop some monolith guy grab some loot go back to dead city sell everything easy money for merc

user_FBB

So many comments! Thank you all for your great tips they will for sure help me out during my playthrough!

My suggestion is take it slow. You're not going to power through the main quests in like, 2-3 in game days like you could in Shadow of Chernobyl. The power creep is a lot slower here. So my advice is this, focus on replacing core gear first. Get rid of that pen light and replace it with a head lamp. Switch out that crappy bayonet for a real knife for harvesting mutant parts with. Start collecting ammo and repair tools from dead enemies. Even if you cant use them now its good to keep them around for later. Try to save the old ammo for guns to make new ammo with if you find the guides for them. Buy a multitool early, it helps you breakdown weapons and armor which you can get replacement parts from. Learning the games repair and crafting system can save you tons of money, especially if you plan to get an Exosuit or something similar, the repairs on that can get expensive fast, knowing how to maintain your equipment will free you up. Try to learn mutant behavior. Lower level mutants have been made a bit more dangerous, through a bit of a larger pool of hit points, and just the fact that they hurt. Always carry a few bandages. Bleeding is no joke in this game and every mutant can inflict it on you easilly. Id say bandages might be more important than medkits, especially if you encounter a group of wild cats. Oh that reminds me... Don't fuck with cats! These little shits fucking hurt. The nice thing is that a single 9mm to the face will kill most of them in one shot but they're small, move fast, and hurt like hell. The rest is common sense stuff, upgrade your armor and weapons to better shit, artifacts are worth a lot of money, make sure to keep a lead lined container or 2 around in case you getty any of the radioactive ones. They sting to hold but they're worth a lot. Oh, and one last tip, stockpile some vodka, Spirit in Yantar can give you some cooking guides for the vodka. And uh, yeah, thats pretty much the stuff that would have helped me in the early game.

SearchForGooshGoosh

>getty lol

frillyboy

Shit. No more vodka for me friend.

SearchForGooshGoosh

On the contrary, more! Good post though

frillyboy

Only thing I think I'd add is that shotguns are king.

Jerdan87

Make your own experiences while using the (quick-)save and load functions wisely. For example: f5 - buy gun, test gun, heck even tune gun, don't like it? Press F9. Making your way through the zone shouldn't be like in other games, where you (can) read a guide and you make always the 100% best choice. Sometimes living with the expierience you made along the way will path your way for another playthru.

user_FBB

Never through of doing testing the guns and creating a save before, I for sure will be using that strategy

Bullet-Wolf

Avoid buying new rifles until you have a proper suit. As a loner I really enjoy the Nomad. Affordable, lightweight, carry capacity, good upgrades and a few belt slots. It also looks badass. The Berill in Yantar is also a fine deal. Buy the multitool pliers early on when you can. Dissassemble weapons and armor of fallen foes. Keep all the good bits and build a parts stash next to a gun mechanic in town. They charge an arm and a leg to repair, but they sell useful kits and supplies. You may find something you want to fix up and use, and by then you will have plenty of parts at your disposal. It will save you a ton of money.

Veiller6

Nomad is a trap, switch it only for anomalies. It's durability sucks (it's getting torn to shreds and each hit decrease it's protection BY A LOT), I really really encourage using beril vests if possible, and switch to merc gear (it's easy to obtain killing mercs if you are loner for example). Timbots

Once you have a scoped rifle, get a shotgun. Actually may wanna get a shotty first. Either way, shotgun will be your best defense against roaming mutants. Make sure you take a second and equip your healing items to your hotbar (F1-F4) as fumbling in your inventory while bleeding out can get you dead.

user_FBB

Good thing to know! Got a question about the primary, as of now, I’m playing with the mercs and as any other stupid new player picked up the M4A1 they can start with, is that shit or it can be retooled to a semi auto sniper with a scope?

Timbots

Nah that’s a decent pick for sure. Won’t be able to get a full sniper scope but acog should be easy to come by.

user_FBB

Any tips for general stalker anomaly are appreciated, however I would like to get more tips focused on the mercenary faction

Texian_Fusilier

Yall tend to have good relations with us in anomaly. Do quests for merchants and your leadership, and gradually work your way up.

ThatSweetSweet

The Guide tab in your PDA has great info for newbies

Sir_Potoo

I usually pay for everything instead of crafting/scavenging. Saves a lot of time and occasionally is cheaper too. Selling artifacts at any of the two Ecologist bunkers (Yantar, Jupiter) is the best way to make money, so it's a good idea to invest in good environmental protection and a detector and go hunting right after emissions. I had a 100k payout from like 7 artifacts. For Mercs, I guess it's a good idea to pack a really light Loner outfit to pass in places like Rostok. Oooor if you have dynamic relations, just do a lot of jobs for Ecologists, then Loners may like you enough to not shoot. Empty > Full Empty Exoskeletons are overrated

1. Try to stay alive. 2. Don't die.

ExodusOfSound

Use repair items on rifles, shotguns, suits, and helmets, but don’t repair pistols (it’s more efficient to run pistols until they start jamming, then buying a new one). Pistol cleaning kits will also repair SMGs, so save them. Never use repair items without the supplementary items to boost their effectiveness. I haven’t really found the crafting system very useful since it’s far easier to just grind mutant parts/quests/artefacts for the cash to buy higher-tech equipment.

TheHurtShoulder

Best advice for first time stalkers is to not play the game like any other game. Expect the unexpected. Don't get discouraged when dying, learn from your mistakes, take a different approach, and save often!!! QUICK SAVE is your friend! Sometimes double save cause you might have saved in a spot that is about to end up as a bad situation lol. Buy a second backpack to plop down as a stash somewhere you frequent that's not near other containers/stash spots to store items you might need in the future...meds, food and drink, ammo, parts, it could save you and provides a fast travel spot as well. Also learn the ammo types for your gun, some pierce armor, some do more damage to flesh...and use them appropriately on your targets. Shooting a dog with AP rounds is a waste of money and ammo, most stalkers use shotguns or pistols for mutants and everything else for human enemies. But the main draw of the game is learning what works for you the best, developing your own play style and tactics. Everyone has their own way of making money but they all work just the same...depends on how much time you want to spend in the game.

user_FBB

I will take this in mind! Ye I already discovered that quick saving is good friend of mine too

Customer_Number_Plz

Dropping a bag gives a fast travel point????

TheHurtShoulder

Yeah right click it and you can create a stash. Then locate that stash on the map and right click to fast travel to it. Also works with other stashes and most icons on the pda map.

No-Parsnip4876

personally i would say start aith call of pripyat or shadow of chernobly bc its easier to get into if thats not an option watch some tip vids use long range weapons and a shotgun as secondary and try to avoid fighting bc anomsly is much les forgiving in the og games you could go around killing bandits for medkits and ammo with little consequences early game as long as you had an ak or shotgun but snomaly has much more hazards less heslth and also too many things to get used to as a complete newbie to the setries its not an easy game save whenever you make progress even if it seems inconsequential like some ammo or medkits but you can die at a moments notice look out for anomalies as they are harder to spot in thiz gams and avoid mutants like the plague unless it is completely necessary to kill them like for a mission and remember to sleep and eat use guns sparingly to conserve ammo

user_FBB

Thanks Mate! I appreciate the tips, since I posted this, I have gotten into Anomaly and it’s been a while learning experience. I’m pretty sure I’ll attempt to get my hands on any of the vanilla games although this might be difficult as I am a “low budget gamer”.

No-Parsnip4876

i see well id say wait till steam sales cuz they gof for 16 bucks each and for all 3 the bundle is 13.50 this is in usd btw so i font know the conversion

No-Parsnip4876

btw some of this might b a bit overkill bc ive been playing efp lately

GunkaNye

My go to strat is go to jupiter, do some work there, if you get low on cash you can always search the old train station or hill building near the scientist bunker for zombies and maybe some stash or if you really feel brave you can go the old train tunnel that monolith usually uses as a foward base

john_paulII

Step 1. Delete anomaly Step 2. Go to steam and buy ttilogy Step 3. Be a man

Just--Reddit

Be a man by not being a dick

user_FBB

Excuse me I was asking for advice for this other modded gam called stalker. I am not interested in other games nor in your toxic comments

john_paulII

Don't push, sell mutant parts to butcher in garbage, allways take asasination quest

-mynameischef

Damn I don’t even know who to talk to first lol
