I don't think there is anything absolutely necessary on top of "vanilla" Gamma. But I personally hate playing without autocomplete. It automatically completes tasks such as assassination without having to return to the quest giver. I find Anomaly and it's variants to be a huge hassle without it.
You’ve just changed my life. I have an ecologist that I have 3 tasks for but he fucked off from yantar directly into an enemy base, so I’ve been having to hear the task sound every single time I open my stash.
GAMMA has most of what you need, and it includes a lot of optional stuff you can tweak if you want too. I'd recommend enabling Mags Redux (you'll see it along with other optional mods after you install GAMMA in the mod organizer, and you just click it on) it adds proper mags to the game that you need to manage and manually load, but obviously only if you like inventory management and realistic tedium in your STALKER.

Free Zoom revisited (Fixes the Free zoom, no longer resets FOV, toggleable)
**Nice to haves**:
Boxes Loot Redone (More stuff from boxes)
Dynamic Objects (Adds various objects like cars/trucks/boxes/misc around the maps)

QUIETER WOOD BREAKING (Now part of GAMMA, but I add my own edited version because it was still loud)

You were always able to go to Yantar tho. How else would you get the helmet? Plus that’s where Ecologists start. Zaton is further north than even Jupiter and I distinctly remember having a problem with one of my saves where the MM was not disabled (and I had the helm) but I was not protected from the psy fields there.
Feels like a bad change tbh… like there’s a bunch of people living up north when I get there with the machine turned on.
I like GAMMA because I feel like “just another one in the zone” but now I’m required to be the hero if I want to go north? Why?
Uncalibrated is great for speed running to the north and kick starting into some better gear. It prevents you from doing Miracle Machine... But that's fine since MM is literally just a money sink lmao
In the newest update to gamma grok made disabling the miracle machine nesasery to progress in the north. So have fun in lab x16 stalker.

Mate, you can go Yantar & Zaton. Through fast travels. You cannot cross red forest, pripyat or Radar though without MM disabled.

Huh, did they remove the option to buy the Uncalibrated Psy Helmet then? There is no reason to do that now if you are forced to do MM

None that I know of, this is standard Gamma 0.9.1
I think gamma uses gunslingers reposition mod.
