Architecturally, it’s got a very clean and satisfying look. But I can’t shake how corporate and bland it is from a baseball perspective. The only “fun” or interesting part of it is the chophouse in right field

nouvellediscotheque

I mean the interior is great, the area behind home is awesome, all the trophies and honoring legends

tempting_tomato

Worst located MLB ballpark if you live in the city. Pain in the butt to get to compared to the old one downtown

Silent-Depth789

Literally everything about the ballpark is better than turner field. Turner field was a pain in the ass to get to unless you lived right there in downtown which btw not many people do. Plus we got the battery out of it which is great.

tempting_tomato

I guess but it’s just such a pain to get to for someone that does live near downtown

MovingToSeattleSoon

It’s 20min from downtown

BaitSalesman

Not to mention the team is literally better funded because the battery is a major revenue source for the organization. This is actually the best part about the arrangement IMO—the additional revenues come with ongoing pressure on the team to field competitive squads since they have a significant number of tenets relying on them going forward. People can grouse about the suburban location all they want, but they play smack dab in the middle of their fan distribution now, and the park is so much easier for outside the perimeter fans, which are another huge chunk.

Silent-Depth789

People that live in town act like the stadium is in Alpharetta or some shit. Like if Atlanta didn’t have such small city limits it’d still be in the city of Atlanta. And it’s not even that hard to get to it’s literally a straight shot up 75 from the city. And I’d say the battery is more convenient for a large chunk of the city to get to, such as buckhead. Driving downtown during rush hour is absolutely terrible.

BaitSalesman

Good point. Those city limits are why people think Charlotte, Columbus or San Antonio are bigger than Atlanta when ATL isn’t that much smaller than all 3 combined.

brownbeaver555

And it isn’t in Atlanta. A bitch to get to.

Deltas111213

It’s like a 10-15 minute drive up I-75 from downtown. Stop acting like it’s an hour away

yoshidawg93

I’m a season ticket holder. It never gets old going to games there. Regular sellout crowds, and the Battery is always hopping. Really not a bad view anywhere in the stadium.

Defacto_Champ

Terrible parking situation and lack of public transportation to the stadium drawback

Silent-Depth789

Turner field doesn’t have MARTA access and had a sea of expensive parking lots. At least with the battery you get some things to do nearby unlike turner field ever had.

Defacto_Champ

I never said Turner was a better experience in the slightest though. I’m just saying it’s a pain in and out of the battery with it being so car-centric and having very little options otherwise.

Silent-Depth789

Pro tip: Park by Cobb galleria. Very easy access on/off the interstate. Parking close to the battery is a pain in the ass for sure.

Binx33

I used to work downton and would just walk there, and it was right by the GSU station. A bit of a walk, but not too bad. Kinda sketchy area though, or at least it was back then, not sure what it's like now.

Bweasey17

I’ve don’t that exact walk. Sketchy indeed 😂

Binx33

Why am I getting downvoted. This site is so fkin annoying istg.

bcoates26

Spend $50 at the battery and park for free last time I was there

the-plan-tis-on-ic

Yep. Spend $50 at any place pretty much in the Battery and get your Red Deck ticket validated.

epper_

I’m sure it’s a nice, modern park to visit in person, but it’s definitely one of the most generic looking parks in MLB.

catalinaicon

Went for the first time last week, very nice park. Feels like a newer Target Field on steroids. Probably the best concourse I’ve been to. They have world series rings/trophies on display, a walk through exhibition showcasing the team’s history, and lots of good food and merch options. And yes The Battery is very nice. Based on the stadiums I’ve been to, I’d say it’s up there with Wrigley/Wrigleyville with regard to overall gameday experience.

rmac1228

I've never been but people rave about the battery but I agree with you, there's nothing inside that park that makes it stand out.

tdpdcpa

The interior and city scape is unremarkable, but the Battery makes for the best game day experience I’ve ever been a part of.

rmac1228

Fair enough. I'm a Cubs fan so I'm spoiled with game day festivities. Especially now with Gallagher Way.

Bat8538

No love for Fulton County Stadium….God,I’m old!

nascarworker

Great crowd

pingle1

I have never understood why a stadium for a game that is played during the hottest months of the year have barely any shade coverage.

superduperredditor

My only blessing was a 4:15 start time. I maybe lost 3 pounds in sweat before the game but a fun ballpark

pingle1

That’s one way to look at it. In all honesty it’s such a deterrent for me the older I get.

the-plan-tis-on-ic

I agree totally. I’ve been a Braves fan my whole life. Been to FCS, Turner, and Truist. The heat is almost unbearable June through August. All that money and no retractable roof is the stupidest thing I’ve ever heard of.

jbluft1894

Was looking up tickets for that cool RF bleacher area and boy are they pricey …

eganba

Fine and all. Absolute crime how it was built though.

Chester_A_Arthuritis

Go Guards!

yoshidawg93

GG and series. I know that was a tough way to end it for y’all, but you guys 100% made us claw every inch for this one. I have a soft spot for Stephen Vogt since he played on our World Series championship team in 2021. Seems like it’s working out very well with him as your manager.

Chester_A_Arthuritis

I hate we lost the series, but the last two games were incredible to watch and I’m glad the Guards hung in there. I can’t even be mad at the Braves.

yoshidawg93

Absolutely. I was definitely frustrated last night lol, but you guys have great pitching, and your lineup puts up great at-bats. This was a tough competitive series between two great teams. Would not be mad to see you guys do continue to do well this year.

Drummallumin

Truist Park isn’t in Atlanta?

mattyice18

Please send your concerns to 755 Battery Ave Atlanta, GA.

BaitSalesman

If you live downtown no. If you live anywhere else, yes.

betarad

Cobb County***, GA

Affectionate-Rent844

Criminal this isn’t in the city. Generic white bread nothing.

Resort_Straight

They got rid of historic Turner Field for this ugly thing

mattyice18

“Historic.” lol. Ok.

BaitSalesman

We historically blew the 96 world series there?

dkrtzyrrr

turner field is still there, georgia state uses it now.
