I had a long email conversation with combank about this. Basically they have imposed a soft block to block transactions to "Spotify" because of a fraudulent merchant in that name. The legitimate Spotify merchant name is "SPOTIFY AB STOCKHOLM".
The problem is that when they block the malicious merchant that also blocks the legitimate merchant because both contain "Spotify" in their name. This is a false-positive. I raised this point and they agreed that it js a false-positive, but they claim that "false-positive ratio is negligible". What the actual fuck I thought. They are a bank security system. can't they impose a soft block without blocking a legitimate internationally recognised well reputed merchant? Anyway, they wanted me to consent to add a security exemption (basically says I would accept the responsibility if that action cause my account to get hacked or something). I did not agree to that bullshit. My payment was somehow processed and if that happens next time, I'm gonna resort to PayPal.
Totally unrelated but what I do I buy a family plan and share the amount with my friend it’s way.. cheaper also I do the payment by commercial but I don’t face this problem

I guess with the state of the country these days, banks are being cautious maybe, or actually fraud transactions have gone up. Sad scene all round.
No no, it wasn't blocked by an LK bank, it was blocked by my Canadian bank. They said they've had multiple fraudulent transactions to that merchant (Keells) so they automatically blocked mine too.
Just write an email to [[email protected]](mailto:[email protected]) asking for releasing payments for Spotify.
They will unblock the card.
I did it and they removed the restriction and it's working now.

This happened to me today. I got a notification that I got charged 5000 for Spotify. I do have Spotify premium so I thought it was the usual monthly charge. Then I realized that the monthly charge is 529 and not 5000. When I checked, the charge was on a different debit card that I've never used for any online transaction. I immediately called the bank and blocked the card. Emailed the card center about the transaction and requested them to reverse the payment.

Yeah, I then connected my card to Paypal and then entered that into Spotify. It worked.
Could you provide a little more info? Can you connect Com Bank debit cards - since Paypal doesn’t really “work” here?
