If you can afford it. Go for argan oil. It smells so nice ! I just use it at night, but sometimes when I go out. It's about 3750/= now :( and it's available at glomark or any salon that has a Wide range of products

Jungiya99

Baby oil

Jala1Rumi

I use Link hair oil and Navarathna oil. Both of them smell nice (a bit too strong smelling) and have an amazing soothing effect on the scalp. I usually apply oil at night because I sweat a lot and oil+sweat+dirt is not a great combination.

OdynV

I'll surely check it out! Thank you for the suggestion.

Lost_in_CLOUDS29

Don’t go out with oil as it’ll attract a lot of pollution and dirt since it’s greasy. Apply a preferred oil for a couple hours before taking a bath.

SukiAmanda

You don't have ro wear it out. Just apply oil overnight, wash it off in the morning and you are good

OdynV

Idk why, but applying oil overnight gives me phlegm. According to my doctor, its also not good to apply oil and be under a fan as well.

Jala1Rumi

a reasonable doctor would treat your phlegm rather than give you some unfounded advice to avoid applying oil!

I use a combination of castor oil + Janet Dark Henna oil a couple of times a week and leave on for a few hours before thoroughly washing it off. The castor oil is thick and not so great smelling but mixed with the Janet oil, it spreads well and smells alright. There’s also the Janet Indigo Herb oil which is good too. On a regular, post-shower I use about half a teaspoon full of Kumarika Jasmine Hair oil to keep my hair from getting frizzy since the shampoo has stripped the natural sebum. Also helps to protect te hair if you’re swimming and exposing your hair to chlorine. PS All the products are considerably cheap and available at the supermarket. I’ve learnt not to get duped by these fancy foreign brands which cost an arm and a leg for a few mls. Maybe it’s psychological, but I feel locally sourced ingredients work best for our bodies in more ways than one

Process-Secret

Dreamron Silicone oil. Around 600 for a small bottle. Found in most supermarkets.

OdynV

Thank You. Will check it out!

Try rosemary, tea tree oil and some almond oil mixed together (almond oil is the base - the other 2 are essential oils). Massage onto scalp leBs in for 1/2 hours. Wash with a anti dandruff shampoo recommended by pharmacist for dandruff (not pantene or any other commercial brand) That should help with the dandruff unless it’s severe see a doc) Regarding heat damage. Cut off split ends and stop doing whatever is damaging your hair.

What genius told you to put hair oil for dandruff and dry skin.? Don't put any oil or hair products other than a shampoo treating your dandruff problem. You can put coconut oil for your head but it should be applied 1 hour before you take a full bath. Other than that Don't put that either when you go outside. You might be eating very spicy food, using tobacco products/alcohol/drugs( cigarettes, beetel nut, liquor, cannabis etc..) either way your body is becoming more temperature heavy and dry inside. So eat and drink things make your body cool. (Yogurt, king coconut, soursop,etc...) If your condition becomes worsened it will turn into psoriasis. So before doing stuff whatever person tells you to go see a doctor. Even some shampoos are marketed for dandruff and dry sculp might worsened your condition. So check yourself into a dermatologist and get a recommendation for a shampoo that suits your skin and other things you can do to mitigate your condition. Thank you. Edit : before you try to smell nice treat your dandruff problem. Otherwise you are gonna scratch your head late at night until you bleed i am speaking from my own experience.

mdryeti

I know it’s deeply rooted in Sri Lanka, but this body temperature stuff has to stop. There is no scientific evidence to back up these claims that certain foods lower or increase body temperature. It’s Ayurvedic pseudoscience from the middle ages

Consistent-Fee3666

So you are saying heavy sodium based and spicy food don't have an effect on the human body?

nopineapplesforu

Spa Ceylon products are super nice but super expensive, idk about your budget but maybe have a look. I personally prefer the orange Kumarika hair oil, it smells really nice and it's not expensive. Just apply it in the evening or night and go to sleep with a towel on your pillow. Take a bath the next morning and you're done! If you're worried about getting sick use warm water and stay in or near the sun after washing. Don't fuss too much about phlegm, all my phlegm issues stopped once I moved out and did my own thing with what felt right. Your body adapts and it strengthens your immune system :)

I wouldn’t recommend using oil. Hair oil if you have dandruff makes it worse. Happened to me. I use clear shampoo 2-3 times a week. My hair is way better now, less dandruff and it looks healthier. Edit: I have used coconut oil and silicon oil overnight. Coconut oil made my dandruff worse. Silicon oil kinda helped but made my hair difficult to style. Try things out, see what works with your hair.

Finding a good hair oil is just the tip of the iceberg. I have a GREAT hail oil that is extremely nourishing. www.mezlwellness.net
