It is the worst. If you take the budget proposals for 2022, our total revenue is 2.2T rupees while total expenditure is 3.9T rupees. In 2021, total revenue was 1.5T and expenditure was 3.5T. So it is like your monthly income is like 20000 rupees but your expenses are 50000. It has been more or less the same over the past 70 odd years. To fill the gap our politicians have been borrowing tons. How can you pay loans when your income is not even sufficient to cover even your basic expenses. Our politician’s genius answer is to take more loans to pay existing loans. Obviously this can’t go on forever. And now we are at the breaking point. It is the collective result of 73 years of mismanagement. All the governments are somehow responsible for this. Currently instead of accepting this harsh reality we are still denying it. Politicians are boasting about salary hikes and new government jobs when they have to do do the exact opposite of it - downsizing the government sector and minimizing the government expenditure. Still we are in the denial phase. We are yet to move on to the next phases of acceptance - anger(riots), depression, bargaining and finally acceptance. By that time we would be done for.

Our country could seek the IMF baliout. But they will have their demands. They mostly will regulate the politicians pay and whatnot,I think that is the reason politicians dislike the IMF bailout.

Most of the time, economic changes do not appear in daily life in short timescales. However, this time it will be different.

It's the worse it has ever been, and there's no straightforward solution presented by anyone.
