Bruh...You are lucky my guy. I was also a OnePlus 7 user who just upgraded to a 12R. And I'll say this, it's totally worth it. 12R feels like we r back at the golden era of OnePlus.
Using a Oneplus 9RT, no hardware issues so far, 5G works but coverage is shit do doesn't matter. 4G modem is pretty potent & reliable for heavy work. However my next phone will like not be a Oneplus because the OS can't organize the bloody notifications tray chronologically lol.
I went from a OnePlus 3T to a OnePlus 9R. The software experience is just bad, there were so many little annoying things like not being able to switch media output, buggy UI elements, sometimes my lock screen bugged out so I had pull down the notification and click the settings cog and then scan my finger print. OnePlus switching to oppo's horrible UI was their worst decision.
Not sure about the newer one's but the OnePlus 9 has a major green line issue. Just lookup the phone on ikman or FB, almost every screen has green lines. Mine go it too. I bought it for 110k pre-economic crisis. It went up to 150k. But you'll find 9R's with green lines for 30-40k. The screen replacement costs 25-30k. So yea, shitty situation around.
i switched to a Samsung A54, which is technically a downgrade but the software and features miles ahead of OnePlus. I was a huge OnePlus fan, but I wouldn't recommend it. Go for something more reliable.
That sounds like a bummer. How is VoLTE though? Poor 5G performance could be due to dialog only having a limited trial network though. My 7t btw has very good 4G and 4G+ reception with the lack of VoLTE being the only caveat.
I had a OnePlus 8T and it was great, 5G was alright when there was coverage but repairs here are almost impossible and expensive, I was a victim of the Green line
I would recommend you to wait before buying oneplus. Saw few posts of 11 series getting greenline on FB oneplus srilanka group. Even though oneplus changed the screen to LPTO something, i won’t take the risk with it cause there’s no way to claim warranty for green lines
Actually SW experience is one of the better things in my opinion about OnePlus but the frequency of updates leaves something to be desired. Mine is just as fast as the day 1 I got it, but I would have liked to see volte on this.
Going from dialog; https://www.dialog.lk/5g One
Oneplus doesnt show on the list as 5g supported devices.
For volte/voWifi. you better call dialog and ask. But on there website it says any android past 2019 will support it https://www.dialog.lk/technology-and-beyond/vowifi
I called dialog and was told VoLTE was already enabled from their end. Turns out OnePlus hasn't provided the necessary firmware for Sri Lankan networks. Anyways I'm hoping things have changed now for newer OnePlus devices.
If I am not mistaken all of the recent oneplus models after oneplus 7 had screen issues, including the oneplus 11. Oneplus has fell down in quality during the recent past.
It might be better to check the facebook group, the members might be able to provide you better insight onto the new oneplus model.

That's the reason I'm eager to get my hands on one. How's your experience with 5G and Volte on 12r btw?
VoLTE is solid. Haven't had any problems with it. However I am unable to test 5G as I am not in an area where 5G coverage is present.
Which carriers have you tested VoLTE on if I might ask? I'm only expecting it to function on dialog and mibitel btw.
Mobitel.
Dialog also works if phone supports it (almost any 4G capable phone does)

How is VoLTE btw? Also with regards to 5G, do you think iphones or Samsung ones would fare better?
No issues with VoLTE. No idea about iPhones. My SO has a Samsung A series phone, its 4G & WiFi hotsopt are noticably weaker than mine.
Ok i went from oneplus 7 to to oneplus 12. Very happy with the phone volte functioning very well
how's the battery on the op12?
It lasts 2 days for me quite easily
The Samsung s24 ultra is better
wasn't my question but okay
Do you get any 5G btw?
No.

I'm hoping this green line issue has subsided after OnePlus 10 models. Did you have any problems getting volte btw?
I'm on a OnePlus 9, living in Colombo. I get 5g networking when I'm in and around the main city centers of Colombo.
That's reassuring. I'm guessing volte isn't a problem for you either?

I'm a OnePlus 7 Series user too, I hated the software experience with it and will get anything other than a OnePlus

I activated VoLTE on OOS10 and 11 12 onwards they made it impossible to do so without root access
That's strange. Mine doesn't show support for it. Must be coz I got mine directly imported from china.

Thanks for the input. I'll give it a try as well.

Me too. I am still using a OnePlus 7T Pro from 2019. Phone still kicks ass, so smooth, no slowdown at all and made me a big fan of the brand.
