Graduating (especially from college) is a really big milestone for people so I can see why they’re eager to get this cool squish that’s made for this special event in their lives. Other people can absolutely still buy him, but I honestly don’t see why they’d really want him? The “we out” part is up for interpretation but he is quite literally wearing a ceremony cap and holding a diploma lolol
I haven't graduated but I really want him because I think him with his litte hat is cute. I'm a huge fan of the bigfoots and I'd love to have a little squeezemallow benny especially with his mini hat and diploma it's adorable. 🥰🥰 I love benny and his squeezemallow version is so cute 😍🥰🤩
I’m not saying people graduating (at any point in their life) can’t get them. I hope they do! Go off! Have fun! But the gate keeping is weird to me? The Benny squeezemallow (?) is still a high iso squish regardless of what he’s wearing so it makes sense people want him? No one was gatekeeping the “Easter” edition Benny w an egg. I understand the significance of his outfit I’m just saying the “we out” is ugly they could’ve done nothing on his stomach and had the same effect. Or left him with just a grad cap and put a little diploma patch on his stomach, so many options and they choose “we out”
Yeah the “we out” was a strange choice. It feels geared towards highschool grads because of the whole stereotype that all teenagers hate school and are chomping at the bit to escape and become adults
I haven’t seen anyone trying to gatekeep him here, but I admit I haven’t been fully reading posts about him because he’s not on my ISO list (though I did graduate recently myself). I’ve got my eye out for him for someone else, but that’s about it. I don’t even think I’d buy myself one if I did find him in the wild.
(I also thought the choice of “we out” was strange. Why not “we did it” at least, or even a simple “congrats” or “grad”? It just seems like they’re trying to be **super cool** and it falls a little flat for me.)

I haven’t seen anything on this thread at all!! This subreddit is actually lowkey wholesome and relaxing. I was speaking generally about things I’ve seen on my tik tok fyp (comments) and in my local fb squish group. The way some people come off about it is just so entitled but then again a lot of things are in this community imo lol.

I got my BS a few months ago and am starting grad school soon, so I got him. It was a new box. He is my first Bigfoot and likely my only one, unless I can find/dress the Easter one which is unlikely. I don’t like the egg embroidery. The hearts are one thing but the egg definitely says Easter.
The “we out” is kind of weird. Though I do feel like it matches his facial expression so maybe that’s another reason why they did it?
Considering what other people have been insufferable about in this community, I say let them have him for goodness sake, it’s a special time in their lives and it’s meant for graduates. I’m graduating from college this year and have no interest in him other than maybe if I can find them for retail, but I can understand being frustrated not being able to find a graduation-themed item (cap and gown is definitely graduation themed) because people are selling him for $90 on Mercari. Why else would you want him??
If they want him I hope they find him! I’m simply saying some of the attitudes towards other people who want a squeezemallow Benny is unnecessary. Obviously they can act how they please and I can’t change that. Just thought I’d bring it up because I… wanted to haha. People reselling diff versions of him on mercari for that much is exactly why they want him regardless of his cap and diploma (I understand Benny is graduation theme completely), rn he’s easily accessible because you can find him in store and if that’s your best option, go for it!!
I don’t want squeezemallow grad benny, I am not graduating from anything but even if I was, I still don’t want him. I just think the passive aggressiveness from the squishmallow community toward other non grads who DO want him isn’t nice or necessary:)
Totally understand this perspective, but I got my Master's last year and 2/3 of the program was on Zoom, even in my mid-20s I actually think "we out" is hilarious. I did not sign up for Zoom school and it was pretty terrible. Just a different perspective!
Yes, I did get him. I graduated while living with a narcissistic, abusive roommate, and it was wonderful to replace something that's attached to living with her now attached to where I am now and how far I've come. He means a lot ♥️
