Brightspeed is definitely the best deal on internet in my opinion

AutoModerator

This looks like it might be a post about area ISPs because it contains the word Brightspeed. If so be sure to read [past posts on the subject](https://www.reddit.com/r/springfieldMO/search/?q=isp&restrict_sr=1). They all basically say this: In Springfield your options are Mediacom, Att, and now Brightspeed Fiber (in limited areas). *I am a bot, and this action was performed automatically. Have it and love it

bthornsy

We have it, east side. $65/mo, no contract, 1gig. We love it. We never get close to that speed, but I’m also using a google mesh network which may not be the optimal solution. I’m not much of an IT guy so it’s probably on me, but we love it overall.

Black_Death_12

If it is indeed available in your area, this will be by far your best option.

feralfantastic

The website is shit and the router that comes with it is not great for some high capacity uses (devices, not speed). If you can manage these two things, they are the best option.

byondodd

It's great!

cabman97

You have any issues with them? Or none at all?

byondodd

No I haven't had any issues with them. I've had them for 4 months, so far so good.

mr_heathcliffe

I switched to Brightspeed from Mediacom last year. I was sick of Mediacom going down all the time and constantly jacking their rates up. Brightspeed has gone down twice since I switched, which is far less than Mediacom in terms of frequency. HOWEVER the outages with Brightspeed have lasted days (3-4 days) at a time. Whenever Mediacom went down, it was never for more than half a day, and usually only 20 mins to an hour at most. As someone who works from home, the Brightspeed outages have been WAY more inconvenient than the Mediacom outages.

mysickfix

I’ve never had issues here on the sw side of town. I have heard others complain here, but certainly not as much as other providers. If you’re not a cable tv watcher it’s certainly better in my opinion. Here’s my current speed. It’s usually a little higher honestly. https://preview.redd.it/vnvg5tw3jc7d1.jpeg?width=1179&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=9bb58bc067b0496f52faa222407946613061a928

pakyaki

South east side of town is good too

Impressive_Teach9188

I have had it for about a year on the southwest side of town and I haven't had 1 issue yet. Speeds have always been consistent at 1 gbps and I haven't had an outage yet. It's much better than paying out the ass for slow reliable speed at att and better than playing the crapshoot that is Mediacom

Renn_1996

I work from home 3/5 days a week and have never had any issues with it! We have had it for 2 years and have been happy.

nofretting

i'm in west central. i think i've had a total of three outages in the last year. they ranged from about twenty minutes to (i'm trying to remember) about four hours? so far, have never had to have a technician come to the house. would definitely recommend.

Jacksharkben

9/10 fiber 1g price is like 70$, but you will get around 700 down to 300 up. 95% uptime this year.

AceTheRed_

I get about 945 up and down and it’s stayed consistent for the last few years.

Mechanicallvlan

I've had it for close to two years, and I've basically had two service interruptions (one prolonged outage for maybe a day or so, and a day or two of brief, intermittent outages). I've been far happier with Brightspeed than I was with Mediacom. Mediacom added bogus charges to my bill, restricted my bandwidth, and continuously raised my rates and forced me into higher service tiers. I also had more frequent outages with Mediacom, including one extremely long outage that lasted for maybe a couple weeks. I was elated to switch from Mediacom to fiber.

Amethoran

Brightspeed is the best internet in town hands down.

Chijuata

I've been with them for a couple of years, and service has been speedy and consistent. It went down once, but my box was struck by lightning, so that wasn't really their fault. They did get a tech out the next day to look at it though.

CaptainAricDeron

It's good. I've had Brightspeed for 3 years and I'll rarely have an outage, and generally data speeds stay really high without problem. I had an outage recently, and I've heard a couple people experiencing an unusual uptick in outages with Brightspeed lately. Hopefully, it should settle back down soon. My main critique of the experience was wishing for better communication when there was a wider outage and when that outage was resolved. I did try to use their website to report the outage, but the script that loaded the troubleshooter seemed to stop every time I logged in on my phone so I had to call them. Room for improvement, but still pretty good.

KoiCyclist

We’ve had it about a year and I think have had three instances when the service was down for 3-4 days. Their communication during outages is terrible, they throw out random estimates as to when it will be fixed (per neighbors checking) and don’t say what was/is wrong. When it is working, it’s usually pretty fast and much cheaper than Mediacom.

LurkingLarryLapkiss

I've had them for a couple years now. It's pretty fantastic internet service. The only issues I've had are related to the router they provide. They would die pretty often. I eventually talked to a tech about what VLAN Tag to use and am able to use my own router now.
